💕🌱Thank You Soo Much Everybody💕🌱 I really do appreciate you guys. In case you weren’t able to catch the full video..I mentioned at the end that next weeks video to announce the winners will be a Q&A Repot With Me. Soo feel free to drop your questions planty or non planty related here or on a community post I’ll posting OR I’ll ALSO have a question box on my stories on IG a couple days before. Looking forward to you guys questions!!😊
I’ve been using Fluval for about 6 months now and as a plant person that tends to overwater - it stays very wet! I mix it with chunky and tiny perlite and have a leca layer at the bottom third of the container as a water reservoir. I also layer chunky perlite only at the top. I let it dry out completely, then wait an extra day, then water only to the point where the leca meets the Fluval/perlite mix. Do not rinse the Fluval. Put it in dry then water it. It will hold the plant upright easier that way. I use fertilized water most of the time but also use plain filtered water every so often bc don’t want to burn the plant. Fluval doesn’t have NPK but your plants need it so yes to fertilized water
It stays wet because you keep watering it. This stuff saved my Thai constellation, Albo, and Ginny. It is also excellent to prop corms, but just make sure it stays damp. If you don't water it, it will dry out and kill your plant. I suggest you fill it past the level and drain off the water. Someone else suggested filling the container as if the plant is in the aquarium.
When using stratum (“Fluval” is the brand name), I don’t rinse before using it because, as you found out, it has a tendency to turn back into volcanic dust when wet. I do reuse stratum if I need to. I soak them in diluted hydrogen peroxide and then rinse carefully in water after. I let them dry out completely before using them again. I’ve also had a lot of luck with using stratum in moisture domes for acclimating tissue culture and small propagations.
I have never had that; did you use a high-pressure hose? I don't make a habit of rinsing it. I just run water through to wet it with the plant in it. If I have a lot of water, I water plants with it.
Aye!!! Congrats!!! I'm laughing at "Re-boil". But you are smart to try the blue Stratum, because both of them hold on to good bacteria after a while. I think the most important thing is aeration, which one has larger chunks if different.
Stratum is the BEST for rooting any cuttings. There is a high mineral content. Also on a side by side test, the best for me for germinating difficult seeds (gloxinia for me).
Congratulations on reaching such an exciting milestone in the UA-cam world!!! UA-cam recommended your channel to me when you put your 4th video out. I subbed right away and have been watching you and your plants grow ever since. Keep on putting out fantastic content and get all them watch hours so you can get paid! ♥️♥️♥️ #WeLovePhilos
One thousand subscribers…go, lady! In my LL Cool J voice…go! As always enjoyed the video. Thanks for being you as you are willing be. I’m here for what you want to share during your plant journey. I’m a plant person and loved when I found your channel (I don’t exactly remember (premenopausal, which is sometimes not great) looking for tips for either winter or import; I don’t remember, but you was in your old apartment in the kitchen; and you had a garage bag….I’ve almost never had a garbage bag ready during my chores…until you (i now try to remember, not a 100% but now I make a conscious effort”). Thanks for sharing with me. #WeLovePhilos
This video represents how we learn and evolve as plant carers by being adventurous 👏🏾 So fun! I reuse my fluval and it just keeps working. I’m an overwaterer and it dries out before I can do real damage lol.
I have been using fluval stratum for almost 2 years maybe longer and its amazing but i have also used the exo terra sub stratum and that one works amazingly as well i havnt tried the fluval bio stratum and cant wait to see results from that one
Lauren Congratulations on Your 1K. I’ve made the switch and I am very glad. The roots grow quickly. I’m going long term to test the durability. Enjoy your content. Keep informing US. Did you do an update?
Congratulations on your 1k followers! I started following you during your move from PA to TX. I love the vibes of your vids, they are so chill. Mia and Lulu are so precious! They act like my corgis Rey and Finn when I'm on the phone talking for work or doing anything other than pay attention to them. They start playing and acting up, basically being little brats! lol 😅 Keep doing what you do. Love your content. #WeLovePhilos
Congrats on 1k 🎉❤ Props to you trying this Fluval Stratum out because it couldn’t be me lmao. 😅 I have heard that this molds fast and gets gross/messy. I saw a lot of posts about mold so that’s an instant no for me 😂 however people said you should boil it before hand…but doesn’t seem right idk. I am curious though about how it works so I’m looking forward to your updates and how it turns out. I wanted to try it but I’ll hold off lol 😅 I also thought it was gonna be squishy haha I’m dead !
Thanks Lex!! And YES I did get a tad bit of mold🙃 but not on all props so not sure about that 😂 I actually thought it was my nutrient water causin the problem but it’s probably the fluval now that you mention it 😂😂
Congratulations on your 1k followers. Your videos are always so informative and interesting and educational. For example what to expect when you import and also when you order from esty. Congratulations again and #welovephilo.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate hearing that💚💚 but edit your comment Angela to #welovephilos with a “s”so you can included. Wouldn’t want you to miss out!!
Woot woot!🎉 congrats on 1k! Wow I never would have thought using fluval even though I was going to use for my planted aquarium tanks. I love this experiment , makes me want to try it out. 💚
Thanks for turning me on to fluval, I am going to do more research on it before I jump in. I will also try the chunky perlite because the one I have now is too fine.
Congratulations on reaching 1K! Thanks for doing this video. I've bought some cuttings in fluval but hadn't tried it myself. Looks like it's worth the extra cost. Perlite is still my go-to for cost, easy to procure, & easy to use #welovephilos
Congratulations on hitting 1000! I love Fluval I use it for all of my propagations. Didn’t know that perlite came in this huge size, I need to try it. #welovephilos
Where did you find that perlite? I can only ever find #3, which is still nice and big compared to regular tiny perlite, but I need it like that!!! Also we shovel twins 🤗😂
First, congrats on 1k subs! Love your content. Secondly, there’s another substrate that is some what new called Pafcal. I’ve been using it for a month now and have My Sodiroi and a monstera in it.
@@PlantsNTings it’s honestly going great! I was skeptical being that it’s spongy but no sign of water logging. I bought it off Amazon, it’s like $30/ bag. I do believe it’s 3 qts. Ive seen hella roots. I put a Pastazanum in it today.🤞🏾hope it goes well.
Congratulations on 1k followers!🎉🎉🎉 I learned about your channel through your collab with Plantdud. It has been amazing to watch your collection grown, thank you for all the knowledge you’ve shared. #WeLovePhilos
I'm interested in trying the big chunky perlite, I don't like the dust with the with the tiny chunks. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!🙂❤️✨🌱 #welovephilos
Congrats on 1K🎉. Beneficial Bacteria is definitely a good thing …I’ve been using Plant Revolutions Orca (Myco & Beneficial Bacteria) w/ Myco Chum (Myco Food). My plants have been loving it! #WeLovePhilos
DO NOT touch the bio stratum with your bare hands. I did that and had a horrible dizzy spell for almost two days. The regular one was fine. That stuff is gold for monsteras and corms.
Love your videos! They are always super informative and peaceful! I aspire to have such a beautiful and organized plant space one day, lol. 😂 My plants are all chaotically placed around my apartment! #WeLovePhilos
Thank you! I appreciate hearing that💚our planty spaces are allllways I work in progress I’m constantly shopping for new plant furniture and rearranging 🙃
Sorry I’m not sure what exactly you’re referring to. I don’t recall right now what I was rinsing in the video as it’s been a while since I watched this video😂 Are you referring to rinsing the substrate or the plant?
Aww man. I have heard it can be easy to get rot. I usually put leca or chunky perlite at the bottom and that kinda gives the excess water somewhere to run off rather than sittin in the fluval
💕🌱Thank You Soo Much Everybody💕🌱
