I used to do this with a purple worm with a white tail when I was a kid (did not know a lot back then) and it works great! Thanks for these awesome tips Randy and hope you are having a good day!
I learned this technique many years ago in a club tournament. The boater gave me some of these ultra vibe worms and I haven’t put them down. I use a regular off set worm hook, but will try an EWG. I usually “peg” my weight with a bobber stopper. You can fish it on bare banks, slow roll it deep, and even flip it into laydowns. Very versatile and inexpensive. I have caught bass year around on it down to 45 degree water. I keep four colors of these worm, watermelon seed, green pumpkin, some kind of purple and a black and blue color. I use the 6 inch version. I have tried the larger, longer magnum ultra vibe worm, but for some reason have not had the same success as the small worm.
Thanks Randy and Jeff for sharing this technique. I can't wait to try this out. The conditions you described are exactly like my area I fish. I'm super excited.
I force myself to take 1 setup to my pond, so I just go out there and fish with out worrying about options. I always seem to grab the wrong one though 😆
Thanks Randy. I’ll give it a shot. I used a technique similar to this in the 80s at Lake Degray and absolutely stroked em. I don’t know if zoom was around then, I used a Culprit worm in the willow grass. As you said, it was late in the summer. Thanks for the video, I had completely forgot about doing this. I couldn’t run around much, at the time I ran a 12 foot aluminum with a 15 Evinrude, and proud to have it. I hung around Arlie Moore. Good memories. Thanks.
Love the Speed Worms! Watermelon red , June bug are excellent! Get you some Bass Assassin RSB in Gooseberry !! Gambler Burner Worms work great too! You can also stop it and let it fall in holes in the grass .
I use only Spike It markers. You don’t have the risk of spilling the dip version or getting the spray on your boat. Just put the bait against a piece of cardboard and color away. You can get color transition down with the marker. The dip? No way! Thanks for the tip, Randy.
In the video you say to have the hook point come out of the worm on the same side as the point in the curl tail but then you rigged it with the point of the hook coming out of the side of the worm opposite of the point in the worm......so which is correct,,,or does it even matter?
Probably a silly question that i should know the answer to, but ill ask anyhow. Why a glass beed to protect the knot on a Caroline rig and no beed on a texas rig?
The bead is not to protect the knot on a Carolina rig bc it is stopped by a swivel way up b4 the knot and is for sound only when the weight hits the beads.. a glass bead on a tx rig will.cut ur line when that glass bead is chipped and it chips very easy ..
News nugget! Alright girls and boys, Get ready ok here goes… swivel… 2/0 hook… worm. U will get your arm broke. Do not use a weight, depending on the size swivel u prefer will depend on what u want the rate of fall to be.
How many different "SECRET" ways can you retrieve a worm just under the surface?. Must be that $500 mega-bass rod and $400 reel that makes it a "SECRET".

Prob bc ur not using the right hook and ur pegging it.. Why would u peg it?
Why would you not peg it
Sir Randall great info
Great video.
Need to add David (Smiley) Wright to that list with Coble,Fritz and Beck.
I have always had the UV speed worm tied on for many years and have caught tons of fish on it. It is a killer bait !!!!!!!!!!
This technique works awesome on Lake Toho. Been on a couple trips there. And the speed worm worked good in all that mill foil down there.
What am I doing wrong on the toho lakes with this bait? I’m only good with a ribbon tail and senko. I can’t seem to buy a bite on this thing.
Thanks Randy and Jeff for sharing this technique. I can't wait to try this out. The conditions you described are exactly like my area I fish. I'm super excited.
Thanks for the info , I bet here with all the grass it would really work , definitely gonna try it .
Great stuff Randy !
Amazing, how to hook up a speed worm. Evey one and their brother has one tied on in fl!
This might be the Ultimate bass inside tip ever, Thank You 😮!!!!!
Thanks for info, been rigging wrong with little results, now you got me excited to try again.
I’m gonna need a tackle box with wheels on it if I keep watching these videos by Randy 😂
Always love your tips brother!
I will need one of these tackle boxes too!! :)

Good stuff Randy thanks!
Great technique during the spawn. Bill Lowen has a good video on the speed worm...
Popular on Seminole in springtime but I prefer a lipless, chatterbait or sb myself.
Great stuff. What about the 3/16 once sinker?
Hey I like your new boat !!
Good morning Randy, awesome video
I was there and learned from the best...Jordan, Harris, High Rock, Falls Buggs Island...Those were the days...
Always have this rig on a rod in central florida

Have u tried the swimming senko w this technique? I believe it has the same style tail?
Use a chart marker. No mess
Randy
What about doing this on an Ozark rig!?
So, Tail always pointed down correct?

Randy, when you rig the ultra vibe is the split in tail facing up or down? Couldn’t tell from the video.
Tail riding up
@@randyblaukatintuitive so split in the tail facing up toward the sky?
@@DanGriffin10 yes if you put it the other way, the worm tends to ride too far down in the water on the tail end it just looks a lot better facing up
I been fishing this here in NC for the last five years and I always catchem.Great video.
@@randyblaukatintuitive thank you!
Also, this is a great bait for a new angler or kids. Doesn’t hang up and simple to fish.

@scottbassman123 I understand how it works, and yes the beed also protects the swivel knot
Oh! One more tip… ultravibe speed worm… California 420 color… dyed tail in chartreuse, hang on.😮💪
Any relation to Kelly Coble ? He was a STUD here in AR.. Still may be..

That's my rig...swivel about 8" in front of 2/0 except I use a screwlock to keep from tearing the nose up. Pulled 15 out of the hydrilla yesterday.
Al Lindner- 1977
I tried that spray and my wife thought the dog peed on the floor.
The pro fishermen should be the only ones that can't use Forward facing
zo sent me
6" or 7"
Get in yur boat, show the set up,retrieven etc. Enough with the garage shows
