    That's how I rig my trick worm except for the swivel. I know it's hard to believe but my brother showed Ed Chambers (the owner of Zoom) the Trick Worm back in the early 80's.

    I used to throw a trick worm a lot years ago. Seeing this video is motivating me to start throwing them again. I used to throw a lot of slug-o's and flukes too. They were some of the best fish catchers.

    Well, I really appreciate you benefiting us with the culmination of your floating worm struggles. I doubt that I would have ever put all that together on my own.
    Sincerely, thanks

    I'd love to get a video from you talking specifically about the different ways to set the hook for the various lure, hook, rod, and line setups.

    Randy, I love your stuff. Keep up the great work - keep advocating for the traditions of our sport ; appreciate it. I’ve fished this floating worm since I was a kid fishing Farm ponds in the 70s we were very poor. All I could afford were hooks swivels and jelly worms so this is what we did and an occasional floating Rapala or a Mepps squirrel tail spinner. Fished on 12 lb. Stren blue “glow” monofilament God Bless !!

    I keep one tied on and ready at all times. But, it is a super bait to have when they blow up on a top water and miss it. Toss the trick worm right to that spot.

    I like this method, but the areas I typically fish wont allow it due to grass. I pretty much donthr same method, but not with the hook exposed 👍

    This looks suspiciously like Doug Hannon's 'spinning worm' from the 1980s ... he would put a bullet weight in front of the swivel to get it deeper as well ...

    Very good exhaustive. Wow chartreuse wormz????
    I been wondering that.
    One thing all this tech speak texas rig jerk bait etc. Always keep babytalk mandatory. Not one aught hook but .9 - .4" hook terminology that any1 can grasp. I think u will get more subs.

    Just don’t do it in shallow water between March and May because you might catch one off a bed.

    3:57 I don’t get it Randy, why wouldn’t I just use a fluke? I’d be willing to bet that if you had a guy fishing a fluke and a guy fishing a floating worm same colors same boat there wouldn’t be a massive difference in numbers

  • @n2trkys18
    @n2trkys18 2 місяці тому

    Hello….if the worm sinks, it ain’t a floating worm. 🤦‍♂️ I love floating worms, but I rig mine straight and weedless. I use a 2 o hook and my floating worms will never drop below the surface of the water.

  • @clientclient2814
    @clientclient2814 2 місяці тому

    Hey Randy GREAT TIP
    BUT
    What about rigging it weedless for like heavy cover/ lilly pad fishing...I use floating worm in lilies pads in rivers ALOT and get alot of strikes/catches. What is your preferred rig for this style fishing ??
    Thank you for another great tip !
