Not accounting for ships that have gone up in value like the Imperial Flagship, I think it would be the most expensive pirate ship straight from the shelves. All the details and small pieces required would have to make the price huge if LEGO were to make any money from it.

@2Legoboss most of queen annes revenge pieces I don't have but the black pearl is only missing like half of its sails queen annes is missing 80% of the sails and im pretty sure the sails are super expensive
Technically lego has made it because the POTC game has the model for it, the endeavor, dauntless, and the better version of the black pearl in it. I think lego missed out on money from not releasing those at all and of course we missed out on some great sets.
@@2LegobossBeats me, they had all of the pieces at the time and the instructions because a youtuber a year or 2 ago bought the flying dutchman model off of bricklink. I think lego didn’t want to sell ships that would be $200-$400. Unfortunately I would disagree with their reasoning because as we see today with set prices, the market is certainly there, but that’s on them for missing out on that opportunity.
We hopeeeee!!!! I also believe is a fact of the minifigures distribution, I mean, the value of Davy Jones at the time and they were more foccus on making toys than collectable items like today days. But now it makes sence that the theme is coming back. We hope so much!

Absolutely! Lego also made the Silent Mary, which is close enough to Dutchman in terms of details and pieces. But it's gonna be an expensive set.. i guess about 250-300 euros

@@2Legoboss dutchman specifically Has EU LEGO id number, so i guess they were also released in Europe Edit ; as fun fact i realized the dutchman and queen Anne's revenge were designed by the same master builder, and this is what he wrote about the dutchman design process; That is a great one. It was initially a bet between some people, about how it's not possible to have a whole ship for that pricepoint. I built it within few hours and it was standing on my desk making everyone laugh who passed by. It took just few days to decide that it's so ridicolous that it has to become a set. There you go. Mine form the ground up.
Oh hell they CAN MAKE the bloody thing they don't have to put that much detail into it like they do in other sets that don't have the details in the movie that's bull
Lego won't make it, because they blew their chance, and they are too lazy now. It is my favorite ship, and I have the JM Bricklayer version which is great. As usual, don't wait for Lego to make anything you want. Someone else will or you can build it yourself.

LOTR has a ton of fans and it also appeals to castle fans. No one cares about Pirates of the Caribbean. People like me love pirates, but we want actual pirate sets, not this fantasy ship. Plus they just released a remake of the Barracuda a couple years ago and ElDorado just last year.

Big hole in your theory, Lego actually only produces sets under their themes when the theme is relevant to the current media culture. For example Indie 5 came out so they made more Lego Indie sets, rings of power just had it's second season and there are two new Lord of the Rings films on the way.. that's why they made the UCS sets of LOTR... And Harry Potter sets were on a 5 year break until around early 2017 when cursed child came out as a book and had been a play for a year in talks of being a movie, then Hogwarts legacy came out and now they're selling illustrated editions of Harry Potter so they're more relevant than ever to make sets out of and we have 100's of them
Because of all the small details like the barnacles and coral the price would be huge
