I’ve only gotten into the PotC series lately, so I missed out on the sets (and they’re now crazy expensive). I’m praying that this Fortnite event is teasing a new line of sets. You can see an obvious improvements in the figures (although I think Barbossa’s old face looks better), and I doubt they’d go that far just for a game. Maybe this time we’ll get figures of Pintel and Ragetti, who somehow didn’t get them originally.
I would love a flying Dutchman UCS set (Would love that to be my first UCS to experience)
ReoBrix has this set....over 5,000 pieces and it's freaking awesome.

I had all PotC sets from 2011 (except the black pearl) but sold them all two years ago. I kinda regret that.. 😅 Since there will be a new pirates movie in the upcoming years they will likely reboot the theme by making new sets based on the original movies like they did with Harry Potter, when Fantastic Beasts released in 2018. I really hope so because i love the movies and those new minifigs look incredible!! 🤩

The green and black seatron villains were definitely repurposed for the Aquazone sub theme the Aquaraiders. I had a few of those sets as a kid, they were pretty rad.

I think you are not aware that there are two pretty huge pirate sets coming out under the Bricklink Designer Program. One from series 2 named Ominous Isle and another in series 5 named Thieves of Tortuga. Given that Ominous Isle's preorder numbers were good, it's no wonder why Lego decided to go with the Theives of Tortuga shortly after seeing its numbers.
"Before we continue" doesn't seem right when the video ends in 18 seconds. The phrasing is more appropriate before a chapter of video begins more midway through a video, not at the very end. Because what is there to continue, when the video is about to be over?
1:27 there are specialized pieces for the arms all over: - Stitch from Disney CMF and Disney 100 (as well as a Star Wars Rogue One pilot I can't recall the name) - Chicken Suit Guy, Big Bird from sesame street, and other bird costumes in CMF. - bat wings in Monster Fighters, Super Heroes, TMNT and BAM. - robot arms in Agents and CMF - Penguin/Shark/Orca wings/fins in CMF
I wasn't talking about the lack of special arms, as I showed minifigures with special arms in the video, but how there are very few minifigures that have special leg, torso, and head pieces. I almost can't think of any minifigure that has that
I think they just did aquazone, most of the sets there look similar to the sets here. they just cut out the expensive molds.

@@2Legoboss well, if you look at the fancy "evil " alien things, they see like the stingrays and aquasharks (there is even a submarine that looks like the good small shark sub), and the humans buildings look a lot like the 2 aquanaughts bases.

@@2Legoboss Sadly not all - I was a wee kid back then, and I was at the whims of christmas and other holidays to get some lego. But I do have 3 of the nice subs (lobster, shark and that yellow first gen big sub with the great rounded canopy )
Alpha Team seems to have had a Black Shark.

Some of these sets seem to have been reused for Aquazone. The Monorail-reason is BS because the second Monorail-set was the only Unitron-set released in Europe.

Bro it's not the fact they have the Pirates IP they have a deal with Disney rn. If every fuckin lego fortnite character added meant new sets we would see more by now.

Lego has this stupid business model where they only make sets if something is relevant in TV, Movies, or Video games despite fan outcry. reason Harry Potter got rebooted was the cursed child play and later Hogwarts Legacy/ news of a new series. and DC despite having 80+ years of comics they could base sets on keeps getting fisted because Warner Bros have no idea wtf they want to do with DC and their Characters. (shit, part of me thinks the only reason we got a BTAS set was because Kevin Conroy & Arleen Sorkin passed away and they ran out of ideas) also this isn't to say "grr I hated the video and your wrong" It's to say based on their history it's unlikely but when i see titles like yours I get stupid excited because it's rare they make sets for no reason with an IP.

There is a chance in 2026 they could release a UCS flying dutchman because dead man’s chest came out in 2006 and it was the first movie when the ship got screen time, so for a 20 year anniversary maybe

I understand your point and I would die to have another wave of pirates of the Caribbean sets, however, the reason why Lego is making lord of the rings sets is because a new form of media has came out for it making it relevant. At this moment in time pirates of the Caribbean unfortunately hasn’t been relevant for nearly a decade

Big hole in your theory, Lego actually only produces sets under their themes when the theme is relevant to the current media culture. For example Indie 5 came out so they made more Lego Indie sets, rings of power just had it's second season and there are two new Lord of the Rings films on the way.. that's why they made the UCS sets of LOTR... And Harry Potter sets were on a 5 year break until around early 2017 when cursed child came out as a book and had been a play for a year in talks of being a movie, then Hogwarts legacy came out and now they're selling illustrated editions of Harry Potter so they're more relevant than ever to make sets out of and we have 100's of them
But how do you know those weren’t also released as a way to test the waters for a pirates of the Caribbean comeback?
they had him planned, there's evidence they had it prepared, and then it got canceled.

Absolutely! Lego also made the Silent Mary, which is close enough to Dutchman in terms of details and pieces. But it's gonna be an expensive set.. i guess about 250-300 euros

How is the quality of the bricks?
Technically lego has made it because the POTC game has the model for it, the endeavor, dauntless, and the better version of the black pearl in it. I think lego missed out on money from not releasing those at all and of course we missed out on some great sets.

@@2LegobossBeats me, they had all of the pieces at the time and the instructions because a youtuber a year or 2 ago bought the flying dutchman model off of bricklink. I think lego didn’t want to sell ships that would be $200-$400. Unfortunately I would disagree with their reasoning because as we see today with set prices, the market is certainly there, but that’s on them for missing out on that opportunity.

LOTR has a ton of fans and it also appeals to castle fans. No one cares about Pirates of the Caribbean. People like me love pirates, but we want actual pirate sets, not this fantasy ship. Plus they just released a remake of the Barracuda a couple years ago and ElDorado just last year.
