good explanation of what material could be used as an air filter for the grow bags, if you want to make them yourself
Hella informative great video. Love that you added in the time it takes to shake the double amount of spawn with the T fingers too, so good. Cheers from mushloveaus
You give so much great info out
This is so helpful. Thanks!!
Great content! Thank you.
excellent
Excellent! I am about to dive into Lion’s Mane and Turkey Tail. I know they prefer wood, but I have an unlimited supply of free coffee grinds, 10-15 “wet” pounds at a time, 2-3 times a week. So I need to try and find a formulation that works for what’s free.
Any advice on a bag for coffee grinds?
Cut it with hardwood pellets
Here's a tip! Use jars for spawn because you can reuse jars this will save you money and use the extra large bags for substrate and put your jar grow into the substrate bag when it's ready
or have layers so you inject into spawn in the bag and then mix with the sub on top of it when ready
Can you use oven bags instead? We dont have this type of bags in our area
0:23 do they ever shake the bag after it is spawned and packed? Wont it send the spreaded spwan all the the bottom of the bags? I never hear anyone speaking g about shaking the bags.. sorry for my ignorance , however an insight from you is greatly appreciated.
Bags are shaken after innoculation.
@betty swollox After you inject your spores shake your bag up real good. Give it about a week or so once you see growth on about 1/3 to 1/2 of the bag shake it up real good and itll spread fast. Ive shaken as many 2 or 3 times during the process if growth seems slow

Applications?
Mine too
I would never even try and put 7 lb in one of those!!
I would put 6 lb a little over 6 lb not much.
Although I would like to say ever since I've started using exclusively unicorn bag I haven't had one split open I haven't had any problems with the filters or anything they're just better made bags!! The guy that owns unicorn bags is a super great guy even though he's a busy CEO he took the time out to talk to me about bags and what would best work for me what a great guy I mean seriously! His name is Lou when he's helped me immensely.
You know at first I thought those bags were kind of expensive but they're really not if you think about it 1000 bags is going to last anybody forever. Even a commercial cultivator on a small scale is going to get a hell of a lot of mileage out of a thousand bags. Especially with the quality I can't stress enough how much better these bags are than the other guys. I couldn't even tell you what other brands I use but I know they didn't even have the same feel as the unicorn they felt completely different it's like they were thinner maybe??
I don't know it's hard to put my finger on it they just are better bags all around
Your names not lou by anychance is it?
He sold it 😢
When did he sell unicorn I haven't talked to him in a while
@@whatsthepoint202 Lou was the old owner. Now it’s owned by some white kid and he’s more than doubled prices.
@@ClownWhisper last year I believe.
did i miss the 10t?
I was wondering if anyone could help me out, how does someone inject into these bags. I see they have no injection port, do you add one somehow?
poke and use tape over the hole.
Yups. Alcohol, inject, and cover with tape. I use micropore tape. But you could use regular tape bc the unicorn bags have filters
I personally get the needle red hot with fire insuring everything is killed. Alcohol is not 100% effective
How many pounds for 10T ?
how wide does a bag sealer need to be? any tips on buying an Impulse sealer?
16" wide 5mm seal, I'm my opinion. I have a 16" 2mm seal and the length is perfect for my bags, but the seal is thin I usually seal it in 2 or 3 spots just in case a seal breaks.
And don't buy a cheap one, it's just not worth the hassle, I'm on my 2nd and I'm getting a new one very soon.
I hate impulse sealer I can grab a zip tie and spin it around a bag in a half a second zip it shut and it sealed. I have never had a contaminated bag ever never never never never
@@ClownWhisper hmm, you do grain bags with zip ties and have never had one contaminate? That's interesting, how many have you done?
@@jordanmercier3616 oh I haven't been doing it that long I probably done maybe 150-ish
Quite frankly I don't understand how anybody gets a contamination inside a bag if you have healthy mycelium on grain it grows so damn fast it kills anything that is trying to get a foothold. But no I swear to Christ I have never had a contamination.
I have a very specific unorthodox way of handling contamination and I swear by it it's easy in simple and Jesus if you think about it pulling a zip tie to close a bag is a lot faster than trying to get it in a sealer
I also stopped using my laminar flow because it just became a pain in the ass. I made a gigantic still air box with sleeved armholes and again I never get contamination. I mean I've had maybe three or four jars out of hundreds and hundreds of jars of grain so it's not like it never happens but it's very rare
Please give me the address where you can buy filter bags in New York
Unicorn Bags online
Guys i am scared i just got a new grow kit and there is like 200 holes in the bag tiny holes. Which i am 100% sure are supposed to be there. When i placed the bag on the floor under my table where there is no light i have noticed like 70% of the water has leaked out on the floor and only 30% is still in the bag. I filled it with 300ml water
What were you trying to do with the bag? It sounds like it was a humidity tent.
Why would you even want to get a 3t if a 14a does the same thing, but is stronger?
If these bags were for medical usage, people would have higher expectations and challenge these companies to make stronger bags. But unicorn hope some stoner kid who had a bag burst in his parents' house will likely chalk it up to bad luck or to his own incompetence. He wont complain. But I feel these bags should be as thick as possible, if they're actually biodegradable. As long as the filters are attached to the bag properly, the filter can theoretically be anything the grower needs. Filters are the least of peoples problems with grow bags. No mushroom bag should never burst imo. Unicorn blames the grower. Lame.
Any website I can brows where to buy those bags?
Yea i sell them on my website
