I don't agree but I know it's not for everyone. I had a bit of help to get my head round how to get at the content and it's been getting better and better.
There are some weird design choices with the Stroud cockpits and bridges. The Viking looks beautiful inside and out but then they give you that stupid slit window that you can't see anything. And the Kontiki it looks like they pulled up some lawn chairs for you crew to sit and watch you pilot the ship.
I wish some the Overseer bridge had a rear entrance option, or even the ability to, ohhh I don't know, CHOOSE WHERE THE ENTRANCE GOES. (This applies to doors/ladders in general) Also: the Overseer bridge pilot seat view is merged with the Magellan cockpit time block. Just FYI Geat Video! This ship interior view video series has been INDISPENSIBLE in my excruciating number of hours spent in the ship builder. I actually hate the damn thing now.
I hear ya. There is a lot of things I would change about all of them. The placement of chairs, crew consoles, some monitors so far back that the person intended to see it can't, more stairs and less ladders, and on and on. I think to myself all the time "do theses people not have any imagination, so many details missed". Same thing with the habs. A lot of things they did I like but there are so many things I am left scratching my head thinking "who designed this crap, and what were they thinking". For example; who designs a captain's bed that looks like they are sleeping on a plywood shelf while the crew bunks look more comfortable. Or who designs a couch that looks like they ripped it out of the Duke of Hazard car seat belts and all. This is suppose to NASA/Punk not NASA/Redneck. I understand the whole truckers in space theme but come on. It could be more function over form with out looking like it was scavenged from a junkyard. Theses are suppose to be ship building companies. No wonder why Ron Hopes sales were declining. And I have gripes about them all. I also don't get why the damn crew cap is eight when you can build a ship that needs at the very least twice that. But I still love the game and see a lot of potential through mods.
I like how you silently observe the... I'll call it the 'main quest panel' in various cockpits in the video. Definitely a change in feeling between the brands. Taiyo with its usual ugly, empty room look, and then the Viking with crew stations everywhere, to say nothing of the bridges and their variance. The Ares has that military troop transport feeling to it, while the Cabot is just some rich and swanky captain spending credits for that feeling of a commanding presence.
I just wish that the Armstrong cockpit wasn't such a goofy assed shape, because it's the most fighter-like real world cockpit feeling that is in the game.
The Armstrong cockpits make me think Soviet era aircraft for some reason; a lot of exposed wire, analog looking controls, etc. Favorite is still the Magellan C1
@@DennisMangual Thats fair, I can see how it'd feel a bit short there, doesn't bother me much thankfully. Definitely love the big window despite its flatness, and ofc the stairs. Honestly the mod I'm most looking forward to when the CK comes out is multi-level habs with stairs. Until then, it's either the cabot or single level ships for me. Tho it is quite annoying how nothing lines up with its angled edges well...
The type 1 Kon-Tiki Bridge seat layout bothers me a bit. All four crew seats are positioned so the crew can stare directly at the pilot at all times. Type 2 is much better. There most seats are focused out the windows and only the two outermost seasts are on pilot observation duty.
1st cockpit is too small, no extra crew or passenger slots....or, if it does....not comfortable for them. The pink Hue is too much too. Would have been great with two proper crew seats and a warm beige hue. The window dividers are too think and block vision for space ship combat. I don't know about the cargo stats on it. Never cared to look it up either. It's not a nice looking futuristic streamlined cockpit. 2nd cockpit/bridge has too much wasted space. Pilot seat should be front and center. Nav. consul is not needed. Access stairway to the lover level of the ship would be nice....such as the C3-C4 Cabot. The port and starboard rooms are a waste of space....very impractical. The exterior look of the Bridge is eye catching, but a smaller version the stairway to access the lower deck would be more versatile for sleek looking and fast combat ships. Again we have all the window dividers limiting the view for combat. In the century Starfield takes place I'm sure windows will have long been replaced with exterior cameras and large interior screens/viewers....like we see even in the original Star Trek series. As Legion states in Mass Effect, windows are structural weaknesses. "On screen now captain!!" 3rd cockpit has a warm look and the two crew seats are nice. I'm not crazy about the view from the pilot seat though. Exterior view is not exactly sleek or futuristic. Instrument panels block too much of the lower part of the view. Like the others...Not the greatest for combat but the overhead view is nice to have. 4th: These bridges with ladder access from below are just junk, worthless. Now if they had an option to enter the back of the bridge from the deck...that would be a plus. I have several designs in my head that would work if the access could be from the back of the bridge by way of a any Hab. Wide dividers obstruct the view. Exterior looks like something I might see on a small ocean freighter. The front needs to be raked on an angle to make it look sleek and as though it could deflect incoming space junk or enemy fire. Flat vertical windows don't work in the atmosphere or in space. That said, the interior color scheme is awesome. Basically the rest, until you get to the Cabot have similar design features that most 4th level designers and engineers don't care for. The Cabot C3-C4 Bridges have excellent forward, side to side, and overhead views. The color scheme is warm and not hard on the eyes. The stairway access to the lower deck is great. Exterior view is Sleek and stealthy looking with the sharp angles. However, this bridge does limit what a designer can do with it. A smaller version would be helpful if the stairway could still be present. The pilot seat is front and center, flanked by two crew seats and that's perfect. I would make a few design changes to allow a person to stand a few feet closer to the front of the ship which would give a better view of the ground directly out front. As it is, my head bumps into the window and I can't get any closer to look down in the area I landed at. Even a small ship equipped with this bridge makes the ship seem much bigger......a much more serious ship. I like that feeling. I bet the Ecliptic mercenaries in the Claymore ships like it too. The Viking would be awesome with the Samurai (Taiyo) front view attached to it. The Viking, as is, gives me a closed in feeling because of all the window dividers. The interior layout and color scheme is otherwise great. I recall when I unexpectedly got the Star Eagle for finishing the free star rangers mission. When I first stepped into the cockpit I was blown away, but the view during space battles really bothered me so I put the Taiyo cockpit in...which has the best view in the game. The rest put me to sleep.
I make videos I want to see. Personally I hate chatter when I just want to look at how something looks while I’m building a ship. These are essentially reference videos for habs, they’re not really meant to be entertaining lol
@@SpaceCoconut maybe just a bit of commentary here and there.? If you a content creator think about what you like and think on what your viewers want and hit that medium ground. Just a thought. Keep it up man.
These are still the best presentation of interiors for the games - thanks for thining about how we build the ships - not just what they look like
I knew these would hold up over time. I just wish the rest of the game was as good as the ship building lol - I really wanted to keep playing it.

Ya the differences are nice when you want your ship to have a certain feel
Just wanted to say thanks for doing these videos, love your work!
Love the look of the Viking, the window sucks for first person ship combat though, which I prefer.
I just wish that the Armstrong cockpit wasn't such a goofy assed shape, because it's the most fighter-like real world cockpit feeling that is in the game.
I feel like it’s meant for those dumb fuselages from hope.
It fits one thing, with that thing being a Hopetech Fuselage. Anything else with it is just ugly...
It goes sooooo well with more ridged and edgy ships to round them out a bit, and when you do a darker paintjob it really feels piratey
This is handy, much appreciated!

I love the ares bridge, just added to my ship 😊
Just fell in love with it too, unfortunately until we get staircase habs Im sticking with the cabot because I have a seething hatred for ladders lol!

Yaaa! ❤
yeah shove a bar right in the middle of the view, great idea
Totally irrelevant question but what planet is that? (Or am I stupid and it's just Jemison?)
(Also, liked the video but took it back because the count was at 69 before and I am that immature.)
The Cabot feels way smaller than it should be
Because under where the seats are there is a tonne of dead space
