When the Straud/Eckland salesman disappears, he is usually just standing behind the potted plant in his cubicle. Stealth skills learned from a lifetime of working retail.
Came here to say that :) You can even spot him twice in this video when you check his office, it's just that you're rushing through the station too quickly to notice.
All of the NPCs just standing in a cluster on one side of a single hab, blankly staring into space, is the most incredibly Bethesda thing I think I've ever seen.
Yeah, usually means the game hasn't updated the list of activities on the ship for the AI to partake in. It removed the ones associated with the cockpit he removed, but it takes a few moments for the iterator to add the new ones in the new cockpit, which with his demonstration rig begins and ends with the cockpit. Which is also why they keep rushing for the cockpit after a couple minutes, assuming they don't respawn into one.
@@jimmayus3211 And if you have bigger bridges, add some more sensible crew stations and stuff with actual functionality which also look different and practical. The bigger cockpits tend to not make that good use of the space they have. Also we need more sleek and aerodynamic cockpits with better viewing angles.
@@Raz0rking Man, these stuff is actually really fucking hard to implement at the same level of quality. There is a lot of work has been done on Bethesda part. I do not recommend to expect anything from mods when it comes to ship modules and interiors. You are asking for too much. What we should expect however - are new cockpits and bridge from DLCs along with other new structural and possibly the entire rework for hab's purposes (like brig hab for example).

The Ecliptic Claymore uses the big Nova cockpit but has the entry to it on top. The stairs lead to a brig and the captain’s suite to one side. It’s been my favorite so far.
Might be another comment about the Stroud-Eklund clerk disappearing, but if you go to 34:42 and play half a second more, you can see the dude standing behind the chair in the corner of his office booth that you rarely watch. I laughed so hard when I found him in the corner
Probably the single most important factor with a cockpit or bridge is first person visibility out the windows for combat encounters. Ones without top windows are a problem.
The cabot bridge is my personal favourite, i love having two options for entering the bridge, and you sit in the middle, which feels much better when you're in a dogfight in first person
Cool video as always with these comparisons. And thx to the comments who told me about the hope tech lady. She sold me the cockpit to my new ship ❤ The big battle ship is nice but I now want something faster and lighter and more compact.

HopeTech has the Overseer series cockpit which can only be accessed by a ladder. Much nicer "boxier" aesthetic compared to the Armstrong series. Even the port/starboard crew stations get a view. I have the cockpit stacked in this way : From control station, you climb up to a companionway with stern linked via a hatch to Captain's quarters. From the companionway up another ladder is connected to the Overseer cockpit. For some reason, this arrangement reduces the frequency that the crew usurps the Captain's quarters (I hate that by the way). I was a sailor onboard a Naval ship for several years and I have never stepped inside the Captain's (Commanding Officer's) quarters. It just feels wrong. lol
That is one I want to compare to so it sucks it isn't in this video. I really like that one even if I hate being forced to use ladders, great for making something like a tugboat pushing barges kind of big cargo ship. Overseer is a great name for a bridge that looks great mounter high and far back.
I know, I built an absolute school bus with 9 passenger slots and spent several hours just getting it so the passengers stay in the back and crew up front. It's just how it ought to be!
@@CarlosDeLosMuertes I hate waiting for hatches, at least with a ladder (if it's not a three story+ ladder) you can just jet pack up it with a little bit of practice. But to each their own
I'm a vet I was in the captains quarters all the time but I was also a YN so being admin and all it makes a lot of sense haha😂 I was basically bothering him sometimes but works gotta get done. I will say I had to drop something off in there once when we were in port our CO was on leave I did snoop a bit and I have to say GODDAMN they make it NICE for these COs
One issue I had when i used the Stroud B300 bridge in my ship was that the crew chairs are so close to the helm that the assigned crew will constantly talk to you as if you we standing near them. A lot of "Need something?" and "Sorry I was lost in thought, how can I help?" while you are actively flying, even in combat. Not sure what other bridges have this issue. I currently use the Nova Cabot with no issues.
When it comes to the fitting of the Cabot C3 or C4 Bridges from Nova, you can fit weapons on the sides. While you can't snap them to the cockpit itself, the sharp shape of the cockpit leaves enough room for two weapons on the left side and two on the right side. If you use the cockpit along with the structural parts from Shroud to make something like wings on both sides, you can mount the weapons on the wings between the cockpit and the wing. It looks nice along with either 4x PBO-175 Auto Helion Beam or 4x PBO-300 Auto Alpha Beam.
@@delindsay Here's a picture of my tiny ship with 4x PBO-175 Auto Helion Beams fitted to the sides of the the Cabot C4 Cockpit. @@delindsaycould be a bug, or they're confused. I'm pretty certain that bridges are only supposed to show up from the relevant sales person and nowhere else. Nova is a special because the actual company is defunct, hence the Titan ship tech being the stand in. It's Nova Galactic's now defunct staryard you visit early on while you have Sarah as an undissmissable follower. Tayio as noted doesn't really have a bridge, only some visually identical extra versions of regular cockpit. That has bridge in the name, and are only available from the sales person like the other bridges, but I guess Bethesda forgot to make a model for it. Sidenote, Neon does have a regular ship tech but they fucked up his pathing, so he'll literally walk out in the ocean. You can teleport him to you with a console command, but he'll yeet himself off the landing platform again in short order.
I have found your vids invaluable in understanding their system. You need a map to navigate our ships - lol. For some reason they choose a nose cockpit system only for the game. There are problems with lining up with the exit modules and air lock connections. They probably setup that way because people get lost in their ships, so they forced use to connect things this way. They should have had other options like a dome top or bottom cockpit to connect to habs so you can save space option and use those side connections for weapons and such. They also should have had those hab module hard point connections designed empty so ladders and doors, like the way workstation and the infirmary habs have it. That way we can use them without deleting beds, chairs and tables. Agains thax for making these vids.
Around 35:00 He’s standing in the tree in that little partitioned office space. I’ve had him do that to me several times until noticing he does that and have had him do that several more times since noticing that his location glitches out sometimes, he always ends up in that tree. The game resets his location after a bit, which is why you found him where you did after wondering around for a while.
My favorite is the Taiyo because you can fit a lot of storage crates in that empty space for quick and easy access without other stuff getting in the way. Guessing the decorate feature wasn't available yet when this video was made. I use the storage crates to dump all the stuff I don't plan on selling but not currently using, like food, ammo, chems, extra protection gear for different environments, extra weapons, extra ship parts. I dump resources and the stuff I plan on selling in my hold. Once it fills up, I grab all the resources and fast travel straight to the Lodge to dump them into the unlimited storage in the crafting basement. Then I sell all the junk to the TA in the Well. Jameson is great for selling, since the 1:2 time ratio allows you to sleep only one 24 hour period to reset vendors. All of this makes inventory management a lot easier and less of a headache.
I like how they did the Hopetech version of the ladder access bridge way more than the way they did Stroud's with the odd crew seats just kinda watching the pilot's seat.
Love the Stroud-Ecklund bridge's visibility, the console thingy has a giant hole in the middle for vision. But it SUCKS that the crew never shuts up because they're sitting too close and it triggers their idle dialogue! Also, ladders are no big deal as long as you just have 2 levels connected, then you can just use the jetpack to jump
That's kind of my philosophy, 2 levels total whether I have the Cabot or not because it's easy (now that I understand how to do it) to jump up the 1 level.
Late to the party on this one, but thank you for confirming my fears. I just recently built a ship with the Taiyo bridge since the first person flying/fighting view is very nice with no pillars in the way and a simple, roomy path to the captain's chair. However, I noticed the crew dialogue trigger thing as well with Sarah getting into a loop of asking what I wanted over and over when we were all sitting there. The seats must be too close to each other. I don't think I can handle that, so I may need to rethink my cockpit choices.
@@mitmon_8538 It gets super annoying, and for me since I change Ships constantly they will often spawn in a group and even in doorways then their dialog triggers all at once, it's horrifying.
If you're looking for the Stroud-Ekland salesman, check behind the tree in his office, if he's not behind his desk, or the front desk. I've always found him there if I've lost him.
With as large the Ares is, I'm surprised they didn't turn those two side cubbies into a head (bathroom) and a Captain's ready room/office. Maybe that 2nd one would skirt the IP infringement line. You hit the nail on the head with the Armstrong. With something that looks like the front end of a heavy attack helicopter, you should be able to put some gatling/GAU-8 equivalent gun underneath it. After the talk last night, I set up my new ship with the Cabot with NPC spaces connected to the bottom door and the spaces I use the most connected to the top. I then used the Taiyo variant habs (Top/Bottom/A/B) to control snap points and excessive ladders (My CO's quarters looks better being the Taiyo top with no side connectors). I don't know how I land the thing since it is right at the 80m point and some landing pads have me wedged under rock. But I am happy with my Musashi. Just wish I could paint teeth on that Cheshire Cat front of the Cabot.
21:32...I love this cockpit... Looks like a dup of the Frontier cock pit I love the bare walls...cause in mine...I fill up the walls with Weapons Racks and the floor space with Storage Boxes of all sizes.
@delindsay The Stroud sales man was standing in the bushes in his second office, you can see him @ 33:54 . I find him standing the the bushes trying to hide alllll the time. Really annoying but hilarious
I only use the Cabot. Basically, a Cabot bridge.. Hope Hab Spine and Hope Hab Bracers to connect all the Habs together and however you connect the habs you get no doors and no ladders for 2 level builds. You get a 2 hatches coming off the bridge. You can even get rid of those with Hab Spines if you want. No mazes, hallways that go fore/aft and port/stbd that run the length of the ship. No reason to build with any cockpit other than Cabot.
BTW, with an equipment plate, you can fit 7 weapons on the Viking cockpits. ;-) They are also the least mass of all. With crew they are my favorite cockpits of all. Very versatile for builds. Another great video! I can't wait to see what you do next.
Awesome video. Easily the best and nicest cockpit(bridge) is the Nova Galactic Cabot. I have it on my modified Razorleaf(Mantis) ship, and I will never use another cockpit(bridge) again. Yeah it took me awhile to get my ship the way I wanted it, but it just works.
As a tip for the employee from Stroud/Eckland that likes to disapear, I often preffer to use Stroud in Neon since Taiyo is nearby so I can go and check both. Not sure if there's any difference between Stroud in their Staryard and Neon, I'm still level 35, but so far, I think both have the same stuff to sell.

I have discovered that if Havershaw is not at the front desk when you come through the connector, go past the mission boards and take a left. He'll be in that little office. I noticed he moved to that spot after I finished the Kepler R/S quest.
Overall, my favorite would be HopeTech’s Armstrong: It’s simple making it great for fighter style ships, a nice exterior and window, then the red interior lighting matches the Crimson Fleet scheme and the Hope 4 bay that I really like. Deimos Ares Bridge: Originally my favorite, but after a while I moved away from it as my ships became smaller fighter designs. The navigation table is a nice addition while over encumbered, to outright skip sitting animation. Nova Cabot Bridge: Not the biggest fan of it’s frog like exterior and it’s window is much too slanted making the room fell far too small. The lack of ladders due to built in stairs is extremely satisfying and I wish was available with habs. HopeTech Overseer 300 Bridge: A nice exterior and excellent viewing. Easily would have been my favorite if not for the need of a top placement and forced ladder. Taiyo Samurai: I like the window, but it is way ugly to look at. And like Stroud, has too much wasted interior space.
As much as I love the sleekness and openness of the Taiyo cockpit, I have noticed if your crew sits in the jump seats behind you, they just woooon't shut up. They could have pushed those seats back just a tad to get them out of interaction with player range. LOL.
I got a good chuckle outta the deimos guy implying that you arent serious about your spaceship when you are pretty much real life Earth's go-to guy for spaceship design information 😂 In regards to the nova Cabot, I have definitely seen Heller sit up front. it stuck in my memory because it annoyed me lol. Bro youre a rockcrusher, get your ass in the back! Really appreciate all the work man!
Really been enjoying this series. My favourite cockpit is the Armstrong. I just love how tight and cosy it feels inside, and the view when flying is actually really good. At the moment though, I'm running a science and research style ship and went with the Taiyo, which felt more fitting. Sadly, the two crew seats are just close enough to the pilot's seat that you get chattered at, a lot, by whoever's sitting there. I'd change it if I didn't have the bug where making any edits to your ship turns it invisible and completely unusable...
If you could combine the command chair part of the Taio with the back half of the Stroud-Ecklund, it would be the perfect bridge. The Stroud-Ecklund bridge had except aesthics but terrible visibility, the Taio has amazing visibility but terrible aesthetics. (I don’t need 2 back seat drivers! Make yourselves useful!) 😂
I wonder if Modders will be able to give us option like that, merging of 2 Cockpit styles into one, or if the 3D model just can't be picked apart in that way.
I love the deimos and hopetech bridge. I will eventually my Warship Judgement II to the Starfield reddit or something soon, and I think it looks amazing and intimidating
While i do use glitches in building, i think it is fine that we have different Cockpits with positive and negative stuff. Kinda real. But i guess it will be updated over time. Can't wait for more parts and more mechanics. I do love the Deimos Ares. As soon as i could buy it i used it. Works perfectly on my Frigate. Love the look of it.
I used the 'flip glitch' to clip the angled Stroud/Eckland front structural elements into the Areas bridge to great aesthetic effect. You do see it when you're in the cabin, but you walk through and access cargo/captain storage w/o any issue.
Indeed, I've used it before and touch on that in this video but wanted to keep this fully "Vanilla-no Mods" type of video for those interested in that.
A note for the viking it isn't fully clear on the bottom, if it try to put something below the front half it will be blocked by the front gun mounts or at the very least something with a full hitbox like a hab or a hull piece
for small cockpits, the Armstrong is just the best. Looks so starshipy. Looks substantial and love the red lighting for my combat ships. The walls of the demios and stroud seems to be made of paper.
After your videos, I'm trying to build something with the Nova Cabot and 2x2 Living quarters with that swanky pool table on an exposed corner with some windows. It's really tough finding trim that fits around the Cabot and doesn't make it look like it's just taped on. Even Nova's structural pieces don't really line up with it. Still love the cozy little Magellan C1 even if you do clip through the support beam on the right when you exit the seat. Stroud Viking is nice for the stations and mount points, but the first-person view is... unacceptable.
On mine, which is a Class C, I have 320CB gears on the outboard and a Taiyo Companionway 1x1 bottom A on the bottom level and a Deimos 3x1 living quarters and the Deimos 3x2 Cargo Hall with Nova Cowling 2L- SF (port and starboard) on the sides. Like you said, it doesn't line up perfectly but it is close enough that it doesn't become painfully obvious.
@@delindsay That's one thing I'm worried about once the GECK is released and NifSkope and everything else is updated. What if there is script that prevents more obvious alterations (dump the modularization concept, getting rid of the 80mx80m XY plane limits, shoehorn components where there are no snap points) from breaking all the spaceship mechanics if implemented?

@@mchapman2424 I've been working on one for a few days, still not happy with it but it's getting there. Super expensive when Engines cost like 60K each lol.
Idk if he said this already or not but just in case he didn’t I wanna add that if you use the Viking cockpit (and presumably a few others), don’t put a roof window on it because it won’t actually work. It’ll be attachable but if you attach it you won’t be able to use it as a window. You can only see it from the outside. It’s basically the treehouse door from that one episode of Drake and Josh lmao. It’s a drawing of one but it doesn’t function as one.
It felt like the Deimos Ares bridge had a lot of wasted potential. Crew jump seats with control panels would have been nice. Instead it’s just the pilot, co-pilot, and six backseat drivers complaining in the background.
You forgot to mention no joke you can have ZERO ladders other than entrance and exits with the Nova Galactic staircase cockpit. You can basically make it so you can traverse the whole thing without ladders it really allows the spaces to work well without issue plus it's essentially pleasing
There's a way to install some or all of the overlapping structures (highlighted in red), I think its a glitch. Just install (A), flip (Y), then flip again (Y), and press (B) to install.
Indeed, several have mentioned only the inside Rep has them, others have said the outside NPC does too. Such a poor choice in design not to have it consistent.
Gotta love the Bethesda jank, I have often had Vasco float out the top of my cockpit & ride outside. I have had both Barrett & Sam sit in the co-pilot seat of the Cabot cockpit. Maybe the companion has to have the piloting skill to sit there?
You can actually get around the snapping issue with the Deimos cockpit or any piece for that matter for using a "glitch" if you place a 3rd companion way above it and then snap the cockpit to the top one then you place something on the very bottom you can then use the duplicate button and it will auto snap the the one below with no issues. It is an exploit and I get some people don't want to do it but it does really help when you have a piece that looks like it should snap but won't.
I did mention multiple times that there's workarounds to placing things where they don't normally snap, but that's for another video. This was specifically to show what you can and can't do without glitches, Mods, etc.
If you don't want your crew to be all clumped up like that then you need to install additional habs that have crew capacity. The crew will spread themselves out then. At least that works for me.
I do and it doesn't matter, whenever you add a new Hab, especially a Cockpit, the Crew all seems to span inside that all clumped up. It's a really odd thing to see but since I'm changing Ships/Habs every single day I see it all the time.
to save yourself some headache making these, Atlantis Shipyard All Parts by TheMudsy on nexusmods does what it says on the tin. I only mention it because you missed the HopeTech Overseer Bridge, which is another bottom-entry cockpit like the SE Kon-Tiki B-series that said, the Deimos Ares is my current favorite because of that floor window - if you position an open frame C-class grav drive just beneath and ahead of your cockpit, you can see the armillary from inside which I love
when you go to get back in the ship, u could load to the cockpit and cut the video to show you at the entrance. on pc if you hold the Tab key, it will let you exit quicker.
I'm still in my baby phase of learning video editing, that's what the Chapters are there for. You can skip directly to me standing in front of the Cockpit door as you please.

@@robertvohs1699 No worries, wasn't offended. It's true that I'm just learning how to edited video and likely in the future, I'll cut the running/walking simulator bits out. For now though, I have to resort to Chapters to make it faster for viewers to see the parts they want.
12:30 regarding the "exit all menus" function, instead of spamming Tab, try holding it down. That's gets you directly back to gameplay. I'm not sure if it works when an NPC is involved but could be worth a try.
I think he means also exiting out of the vendor dialogue options too. In regular menu stuff it’s fine but when it comes to vendors at the end you’re still talking to them which is annoying
The first time I built a ship with the Cabot cockpit I jumped on top of the ship to look around, and I somehow glitched down through one of the small windows and into the bridge! But the doors were blanked off so I couldn't get out, they were like just flat and grey and wouldn't open for me. The must change to "openable" as soon as you enter the ship officially, or something. I had to reload the save, but thinking about it I could have probably just fast travelled, but then again I was probably over encumbered as I usually am!
There's a unique Nasa version of a nova cockpit it adds nasa branding to the outside no idea if the interior is different. It's available from Jazz at the Key
It's heavily timestamped so you can jump from Cockpit view to Cockpit view if that's all you wanted to see. Several had asked I also dive deep into the fit guide for each Cockpit as well, and there's timestamps for that too.
At least the Straud guy comes back, my Neon ship tech is 3 miles away under the water where he can’t be interacted with. I’m level 76 and haven’t seem him since around 17ish.
To differientiate snap points from weapon mounts, you just look to the shape inside the blue circle: if it's a dot, it's a snap point; if it's a square, it's a weapon mount. Wich means on the S-E Viking, there's only 2 weapon mounts (front under), all the others are snap points. About the Hopetech Overseer, I don't understand why you - or all the people who told you to go inside the Hopetech building - don't have it with the techie, as I just checked and have it there, that's pretty weird... Anyway, a great video again, it was probably a lot of work, thanks ^_^
@@delindsay No worries, mate ^_^ The problem is that the square corners are rounded, which makes it pretty difficult to miss if you don't really pay attention, bad artistic decision on Bethesda... If that was, let's say, a triangle with sharp edges, there would have been less possibility for people to mix it with a dot...
Not a fan of the Nova C2 externally. It's just impossible to blend in and I don't really like long "neck" looks. Not a fan of "jump" seats either as I like actual crew stations. So far Nova C1, Stroud Viking and HopeTech Armstrong are my go to. The Armstrong is a bit difficult because it's hard to blend in the external shape but the interior is just about perfect in terms of detail, layout and lighting for a smaller ship. We really need more transition/adapter structural pieces.
I'm torn becuase I love the external appearance of the Viking, and the interior appearacne, but I find the viewscreen to be too narrow to the point where is feel limiting in combat. The Kon-Tiki has GREAT sightlines out of the pilot's chair but has the wierd thing where all the chairs are set up to watch the pilot rather than actually do anything.
There's another top-mounted cockpit similar to the Stroud B300 from Hopetech. You can only get it from the sales desk in the building. IIRC, it has slightly better side visibility. Btw: for issues like the Stroud salesman disappearing, there's sometimes a sales computer nearby you can use instead; I believe it's out in the hallway near the offices in this case. Otherwise, for Stroud specifically, there's a sales computer in the Stroud store at Neon Core.
I've been enjoying these comparisons, But I do have to bring up you forgot HopeTech's actual bridge available at their factory. I quite like that one even though it is ladder access only.
Aw, you missed on opportunity for editing and showing off more of the cockpits. On the final cockpit for a manufacturer, you should have initiated a grav jump to show off the unique button pressing sequence for each one. Then the grav jump flash could have been the cutting point for your edit.
I love the big Cabot, but I've had two problems with it... Vasco sits behind the top door so half the time I can't get through, and I've managed to fall through the windshield when walking on the outside of the ship into the cockpit (but it's not the "real" usable cockpit so I have to fastravel away...)
Hope Tech, Nova and Stroud (Viking)'s cockpits like you drive your ship with two and more crew supporing you. Deimos's Phobos is totally fighter cockpit, Ares is for instantly give you 8 crew. Stroud B series is too strange, crew's chair without control pad or monitor for support. Taiyo is only good for wide interior cargo ship, but Trident's ship use two Taiyo cockpit....
Hopetech is my favourite but i wish the radar panel wasn't blank,Stroud is my least favourite, furthermore the Stroud salesman doesn't disappear but he is in his little cubicle office standing opposite to the desk, facing the partition wall & hidden by the large pot plant (i think he suffers from depression LoL). o7🚀

One thing is for certain: we need a LOT more cockpit options! Especially with more practical bridge designs.

Yeah so at 33:54 you are looking at him. He is hiding in the potted plant there.
Well I'll be damned, he must have a high Stealth skill because I dead ass missed him.
Gocha.
@@delindsay Here's a picture of my tiny ship with 4x PBO-175 Auto Helion Beams fitted to the sides of the the Cabot C4 Cockpit. I wanted something like a tiny & fast NMS Sentinel Interceptor, with the front StroudEklund Cap A's and weapons giving it a bit of an aggressive look :)

Just a heads up you missed a bridge from hope tech. It's only available from the lady inside the factory sales floor.
Indeed, which is odd as others have commented that they see it for sale at the mechanic outside while I didn't.
I also only see it for sale at the lady inside
@@Stukov961 Oh Bethesda and their bugs (intentional or not).
Thank you for putting this together. It had to be an incredible pain to make
It wasn't too bad, but yes it was much more "work" than the usual videos.
A bottom done like cockpit would be so cool!
Yup he is licking the plant at 34:42
They’re in the trees, maaaan. The f*cking treeees!
On the Cabot if you use a x2 and x1 side by side you can stack them and your only ladders will be the loading bay and the docker.
Yeah, lots of good options for a no-ladder build with that Cockpit.
That's a fair statement, Taiyo does indeed have some cavernous empty spaces.
I like how they did the Hopetech version of the ladder access bridge way more than the way they did Stroud's with the odd crew seats just kinda watching the pilot's seat.
It's a Bridge for Pilots in Training? And those seats all pointed at the Captain's chair are for the final exam?
@@delindsay Hahaha. Quite possibly
29:40 not this one? It’s a mail slot for visibility. 😆

Hours yes, upon hours maybe. It was over 3-4 days and probably ~8-10 hours total. The rendering alone took almost 2 hours.
Thank you for doing what no one else had the patients for for, I really appreciate the effort you put into this video and how thorough you were
Thank you and no worries, I like doing the tedious-nerdy stuff.
What I want to fit most underneath the bridge is the loading ramp.
If you're looking for the Stroud-Ekland salesman, check behind the tree in his office, if he's not behind his desk, or the front desk. I've always found him there if I've lost him.
Yeah, dude's got serious Sneak skills. I didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out with a time stamp.
I like that idea. I feel like there's tons of wasted space inside all the Habs/Cockpits.
21:32...I love this cockpit...
Looks like a dup of the Frontier cock pit
I love the bare walls...cause in mine...I fill up the walls with Weapons Racks and the floor space with Storage Boxes of all sizes.
That would be a great use of space!
@delindsay The Stroud sales man was standing in the bushes in his second office, you can see him @ 33:54 . I find him standing the the bushes trying to hide alllll the time. Really annoying but hilarious
Someone else pointed that out, dude has some serious Sneak skills.
I think its pretty safe to say the Armstrong cockpits are based on the MI-24 Hind Attack helicopter/gunship, look it up
Will do, thanks.
Nice - been waiting for this one. At least aesthetically, I find the cockpit to be the most important part of the ship.
I think we're all in agreement there.
I "think" I knew that as I've used that cockpit many times but I'll just say thanks for the tip as my mind doesn't work as well as it used to heh.
with the deimos "d" i think you can have 9.
It is quite a beautiful Cockpit indeed.

Overall, my favorite would be HopeTech’s Armstrong:
It’s simple making it great for fighter style ships, a nice exterior and window, then the red interior lighting matches the Crimson Fleet scheme and the Hope 4 bay that I really like.
Deimos Ares Bridge:
Originally my favorite, but after a while I moved away from it as my ships became smaller fighter designs. The navigation table is a nice addition while over encumbered, to outright skip sitting animation.
Nova Cabot Bridge:
Not the biggest fan of it’s frog like exterior and it’s window is much too slanted making the room fell far too small. The lack of ladders due to built in stairs is extremely satisfying and I wish was available with habs.
HopeTech Overseer 300 Bridge:
A nice exterior and excellent viewing. Easily would have been my favorite if not for the need of a top placement and forced ladder.
Taiyo Samurai:
I like the window, but it is way ugly to look at. And like Stroud, has too much wasted interior space.
Accurate statement.
As much as I love the sleekness and openness of the Taiyo cockpit, I have noticed if your crew sits in the jump seats behind you, they just woooon't shut up. They could have pushed those seats back just a tad to get them out of interaction with player range. LOL.
One thing I've always disliked about Bethesda games is Companions. They're always in the way and their flavor conversation gets old REAL fast.
I got a good chuckle outta the deimos guy implying that you arent serious about your spaceship when you are pretty much real life Earth's go-to guy for spaceship design information 😂
In regards to the nova Cabot, I have definitely seen Heller sit up front. it stuck in my memory because it annoyed me lol. Bro youre a rockcrusher, get your ass in the back!
Really appreciate all the work man!
Lmao, thanks.
Thanks. I'm happy that the series was well received. Hopefully I can hit that spark again in the future, that this series has for me.
I just got the game, your channel is a Godsend. Thank you for everything
You're welcome and glad to be of help!
The long awaited video
The LONG video that was awaited 🤣
I love the deimos and hopetech bridge. I will eventually my Warship Judgement II to the Starfield reddit or something soon, and I think it looks amazing and intimidating
While i do use glitches in building, i think it is fine that we have different Cockpits with positive and negative stuff. Kinda real. But i guess it will be updated over time. Can't wait for more parts and more mechanics.
I do love the Deimos Ares. As soon as i could buy it i used it. Works perfectly on my Frigate. Love the look of it.
It's a very fine Bridge indeed.
Really helpful video! Thanks for a thorough rundown of fitting as well as the viewing side!
You are most welcome.
And the winner is...the Stroud Viking.
You're doing excellent service for this game. Thank you.
Why thank you!
It can be yes, I touched on that by stating if you use 2 guns that are too large, they will occlude each other.
for small cockpits, the Armstrong is just the best. Looks so starshipy. Looks substantial and love the red lighting for my combat ships. The walls of the demios and stroud seems to be made of paper.
I mean, if Deimos was truly a Military Contractor then they would be constructing their Ships as cheaply as possible.
More referring to in-game appearance. They seem so flat on the inside.
@@Power5 Indeed.
Been looking through all habs videos, great work!
Thank you. Now if I can only come up with another series of videos that hit the same accord with people hehe, no pressure.
I too don't care that much for the "side fillers" to create better lines on a Ship. I'm hoping Modders help us out in that regard.

Idk if he said this already or not but just in case he didn’t I wanna add that if you use the Viking cockpit (and presumably a few others), don’t put a roof window on it because it won’t actually work. It’ll be attachable but if you attach it you won’t be able to use it as a window. You can only see it from the outside. It’s basically the treehouse door from that one episode of Drake and Josh lmao. The Ares is by far my favorite, but I sometimes use the Cabat just to get two levels without ladders.
Now if we can only find a definitive way to ALWAYS (as in 100%, not 99%) force Doors/Ladders where we want them...
Awesome. Very detailed. Loved it. Thank you.
You're welcome.
It felt like the Deimos Ares bridge had a lot of wasted potential. Crew jump seats with control panels would have been nice. Instead it’s just the pilot, co-pilot, and six backseat drivers complaining in the background.
I 100% agree, and that seems to be a running theme in Starfield, so much wasted volumes of space inside various Habs.
I wish they made a Nova 2 up and 2 across cockpit. It would definitely fit a niche that needs to be addressed.
Agreed.
You forgot to mention no joke you can have ZERO ladders other than entrance and exits with the Nova Galactic staircase cockpit. You can basically make it so you can traverse the whole thing without ladders it really allows the spaces to work well without issue plus it's essentially pleasing
👍
There's a way to install some or all of the overlapping structures (highlighted in red), I think its a glitch.
Just install (A), flip (Y), then flip again (Y), and press (B) to install.
Taiyo has a showroom you can enter showing the cockpit too, pretty cool
Pretty sure Hopetech has the Overseer series of cockpits. Looks like something that would go on tugboat or a small industrial ship
It 'aint a Bethesda game without some jank.

38:04...don't personally care for the cockpits that have only chairs....like a viewing room, and no consoles.

What a great video… nicely done.
Thank you, hope it helps you decide.

To differientiate snap points from weapon mounts, you just look to the shape inside the blue circle: if it's a dot, it's a snap point; if it's a square, it's a weapon mount. Wich means on the S-E Viking, there's only 2 weapon mounts (front under), all the others are snap points. Welcome! Stroud Viking works great for me. I love the spacious Bridge.
Nova C2 is the original cockpit for Frontier I believe.
Sounds about right. Sadly I nuked the "unique" Control Hab before I realized that it was unique.
Fair point of view.
6 crew is the cockpit from Titan
I'm torn becuase I love the external appearance of the Viking, and the interior appearacne, but I find the viewscreen to be too narrow to the point where is feel limiting in combat. The Kon-Tiki has GREAT sightlines out of the pilot's chair but has the wierd thing where all the chairs are set up to watch the pilot rather than actually do anything.
Being able to "see the battlefield" is one reason I usually go with the Cabot/Ares over other Cockpits.
They should add more 1x1 variants and a vertical 1x2 that are stairs
Yes PLEASE!!
I would love to have a 2 level Ares cockpit. Shame the cabot is the only 2 level cockpit.
Thanks.
He doesn’t disappear, he clips into the potted plant by his desk. You can still talk to him though.
I've been enjoying these comparisons, But I do have to bring up you forgot HopeTech's actual bridge available at their factory. I quite like that one even though it is ladder access only.
Other have also commented this. Apparently some have it at both vendors (tech outside, sales lady inside) but I was not so fortunate.
Aw, you missed on opportunity for editing and showing off more of the cockpits. On the final cockpit for a manufacturer, you should have initiated a grav jump to show off the unique button pressing sequence for each one. Then the grav jump flash could have been the cutting point for your edit.
0.0 I see your point, touche!
Woah, this is a long one.
Giggity
I love the big Cabot, but I've had two problems with it... Vasco sits behind the top door so half the time I can't get through, and I've managed to fall through the windshield when walking on the outside of the ship into the cockpit (but it's not the "real" usable cockpit so I have to fastravel away...)
I've gotten some weird things with Vasco before as well, like showing up in the middle of a random Hab several times.
That instant 8 Crew though.
Hopetech is my favourite but i wish the radar panel wasn't blank,Stroud is my least favourite, furthermore the Stroud salesman doesn't disappear but he is in his little cubicle office standing opposite to the desk, facing the partition wall & hidden by the large pot plant (i think he suffers from depression LoL). o7🚀
That NPC has Master level Sneak skills lol.
@@delindsay 😁👍
HopeTech has another bridge you forgot to include. Different design completely.
When you use the ship builder pad at an outpost.. Do you get access to the bigger things like the habs and, bridges? I know you don't get the unique stuff.. Thanks in advance great video 😁
You don't get any Manufacturer specific items like the big Bridges, crossways, spines, etc.
