People who understand music theory, why the hell is the part that begins at 3:26 so powerful? Something about the melody is just so... exciting? inspiring? I don't know.
It being one of the themes from Freezer is one of the reasons it's so powerful, Freezer was the first time in the game you were allowed to go fucking ham. You got a permanent power-up that let you hover? burn parts of the environment and attack enemies effortlessly. You were a burning man in an ice environment. Once again, you have power. But not because of a spicy pizza, and not because of a gun. But because of the sheer desire to beat someone's fucking FACE in.
I don't know any music theory, and I only watched the game (and didn't experience the power of the refrigerator stage cause I zoned out on it). All I can say is that it is like shards of hope that contrasts with all the feelings of despair and anxiety the song had before. Especially since it only kicks in on the final phase of the fight. Its saying you made it, this is it. Its time to put an end to this. Fitting to the songs name, it is unexpected.
Im not an expert on music theory but the atonal differences between the notes are notable, and honestly very reminiscent of some of the most epic tracks in undertale. The electric guitar is always super hype especially when it has a more scratchy timbre. Finally i think the drum rhythm is notable here just for the tempo and rhythm
It makes me feel determined, like remembering all you went through for this exact moment and you can't fail now, Like "this is it!!! I've been through so much to get to here! I won't lose!" Kinda thingy, like so fitting for the final battle/boss.
the key or pitch switches up here from d to a, pretty sure. basically d (the original pitch before this segment) is usually used to describe more epic battle songs, and a (the new pitch) is used to describe more epic victory songs. that’s not everything to it, but i hope this helps a little 😊

Like he gets so damn pissed at that point that he can't even hold it in anymore
Peppino: IT'S TIME FOR OUR FINAL BATTLE!! Pizza face: Before that let's introduce 4 bosses again "I'm Pepperman" "I'm the Vigilante" "I'm the Noise" "And I'm Fake Peppino" "WE'RE ALL DEAD!!!"
"I'm Pepperman" "I'm The Vigilante" "I'm The Noise" "I'm Peppinos Paghetti (RecD reference)" "and I'M" "F*CKING" "P*SSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *Beats the ever-loving crap out of everyone*
Peppino has had enough of pizza face's shit and proceeds to beat the living souls of all the bosses he fought in every other floor (January 2023, Colorized)
I think I need to bring up the fact that Peppino isn't some incredible hero. He's just a random guy. He's not doing this voluntarily like Mario or Sonic. He's forced to climb this tower. Otherwise, his restaurant would be destroyed if he didn't. Through this process, he's been injured multiple times and had to suffer through the power-ups (particularly the ones where his mouth is on fire and where he is turned into a pizza box - that's got to be painful), but he's had to keep going. Picture this - you finally meet the person who's put you through all of this, and when you defeat them, fair and square, he sprouts back up and brings back all your former foes for you to fight through. You'd be pissed. And that's exactly what happens to Peppino. He's been physically pushed to his limit, and when he rightfully wins the battle, he has to do it all again. His emotions go out the window, replaced by pure rage. He'll only stop when he defeats everyone in his path, including a narcissistic pepper, a cheese cowboy, his arch-nemesis, a fake version of himself, and the one behind the tower.
my favourite part of Unexpectancy is the use of all of the games motifs through it. It's not just a song to pump you up is almost like a celebration of how far you've come, just to take this guy down. Personally, hearing The Death I Deservioli near the start made me feel like I was unstoppable.

Smash Bros Final Boss: A ball of light with wings and an eye with tentacles
Pizza Tower Final Boss: LOCAL PIZZA MAN LOSES IT AND GOES FULL ON DOOMGUY
Peppino screams not of fear. But of pure unfiltered rage intact so much rage they ha almost kills each an everyone of the bosses with his barrage of attacks it shows you how much going threw a giant tower when your business is failing can change you. Like he gets so damn pissed at that point that he can't even hold it in anymore
The song that plays when a balding Italian is running at you with the intent of beating the ever living shit out of your existence at mach 200
There's something beautiful in how the actual fight starts with the wario land 4 instruments
When a human being is pushed too far into its limit
Peppino: IT'S TIME FOR OUR FINAL BATTLE!!
Pizza face: Before that let's introduce 4 bosses again
"I'm Pepperman"
"I'm the Vigilante"
"I'm the Noise"
"And I'm Fake Peppino"
"WE'RE ALL DEAD!!!"
"I'm Pepperman"
"I'm The Vigilante"
"I'm The Noise"
"I'm Peppinos Paghetti (RecD reference)"
"and I'M"
"F*CKING"
"P*SSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*Beats the ever-loving crap out of everyone*
i fkn *love* this song.
SAME!!!!!!
I wouldn't wish P Ranking this on anyone but, when it finally happens on that last combo, it feels like that final beatdown was made just for that.
Part 1 and 2 : 100% angry pepino
PART 3: 200% ANGRY
*you know your fucked when you hear this song and a Italian man coming to you at 150 miles/hr*
"Really? I need to fight all of them again?"
2 seconds later''
"Ok. *They need to fight Peppino again* "
Peppino breaking point. Dude turned his fear and anxiety, into pure anger after seeing all those bosses came back!
3:26 that sounds incredibly familiar

Gotta say, its one of the best OST i've every heard
Peppino has had enough of pizza face's shit and proceeds to beat the living souls of all the bosses he fought in every other floor (January 2023, Colorized)
This day two years ago we were blessed with pizza tower.
Words cant describe how much i love this game
"I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE THIS ANY MORE."
- Peppino "Tower-Slayer" Spaghetti
"........I have to fight them again?!?!? NOOOOO!!!"
*peppino suddenly unleashes hell on pepperman through pure anguish*
"......Oh FUCK YEAH!!!!!!"
I think is the one time in a game I've ever felt a character's pure, genuine rage. And it's from fucking PIZZA TOWER
Pizza Tower is the best indie game ever
everyone says that with every indie game but you aint wrong lol
fact
True
I'm glad I didn't get spoiled for this game. Easily one of my favorite final bosses, heck, even one of my favorite Indie games.
this entire bossfight is catharsis incarnate
1:46 This is the best part of the song
Cold Spaghetti reference🔥
Good Rain knows when to Fall.
This was rage not even fucking doomguy could match.
I avoided Pizza Tower final boss spoilers as much as I could for a long time and finally got around to finishing it last night.
It was worth it.
God speed soldier
2:23 this part is really awesome, just like the game is telling you that you are the actual final boss
Italian man too angry to die
Peppino really went "I have had it with that Motherf*cking Pizza on this Motherf*cking Tower" at this stage.
probably one of the best finale's in a videogame ive played. Executed perfectly with the music, design and creativity.
Who needs a super saiyan form when you can just get so unfathomably pissed that you're literally too angry to die
How does it feel to have (basically) predicted Noise's Unexpectancy?
Peppino when he finally
At long last
After all his anguish
FUCKING *GETS* YOU
3:54 Goes hard 😤
Peppino McFucking lost it and *chugged* the McDonald's Sprite when he saw what he was dealing with.
Using the leitmotifs from the lap 2 theme during the boss rematches is genius
my favourite part of Unexpectancy is the use of all of the games motifs through it. It's not just a song to pump you up is almost like a celebration of how far you've come, just to take this guy down.
Personally, hearing The Death I Deservioli near the start made me feel like I was unstoppable.
The first parts of the music at 0:48 go the hardest
1:07
Peppino scaring all the bosses away with a scream and absolutely wailing on Pepperman made my adrenaline go above Pi.
3:26 best part, no doubt
Nah its 3:02
Bro. Have either of you even heard 1:45 ?
@@HEV_GordonFr33man you didnt even listen to 3:02
this is a perfect example of getting rid of depression by turning it into anger
This is no longer the boss’s music. This is Peppino’s boss music.
As a Pizza Man, Peppino strives for satisfaction, didn't think it'd come from a boss rush, but that's the beauty of it
I like how PEPPINOS is like you’ve pissed me off but then noises is like we do a little bit of trolling around here😂
Peppino is f*cking pissed.
The Death THEY Deservioli
I was not expecting Peppino to literally 7 page muda pizza face lmao.
The guitar in this theme is auditory aphrodisiac i swear
