Thank you all so much for waiting patiently. Unexpected took an entire year to develop from start to finish. I hope it is everything you were hoping for and more. Bill Cipher song's probably releasing early 2025 because I need to rest up after this. Oh, and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas (I get this is the actual genuine end of the pizza tower saga But I do wonder what the crumbling tower song would be like if one were to be made... But that's not important) It's great (even if I Expected a more fast paced song But expect the Unexpected I guess...)
One of my favorite parts of this song is how it characterizes Pizza head as the amalgamation of the song series themes of Delusion and living in the past. Each of the bosses is fixated on the past and/or living a fantasy. Pepperman believes he is perfect but suffers defeat as he's oblivious to his flaws(such as how he can't create anything that doesn't have him as the subject). The Vigilante uses his grandfather's death as a justification to live out a vengeful cowboy fantasy (despite using modern weapons such as RPGs and flamethrowers). In the end he's just somebody looking for an excuse to fight. Theodore J. Noiseter craves the former acolades he obtained as The Noise so much that he cant function in relatively mundane society, nor can he be a good husband to Noisette (the only person who genuinley loves him no matter who he chooses to be). When he gets another shot at fame he dedicates it to getting vengeance on the person he blames for his failure. As a result he relives the Noise's downfall, done in by a man he pushed too far. Fake Peppino may not have much of a past but he is delusional. He believes that he is Peppino but it's obvious to all that's not the case but since copying him is all that he knows he will never try to be his own person. Even then his business is doomed to fail as his shallow understanding of Peppino's true nature has further warped him into a characature of Peppino's worst traits. In Pizza Head's case his obsession with Peppino lies in the Chef's apathy. When he defeated him back in his Pizza Boy days he was expecting to get a rise out of him. To his surprise under that suit was a man who didn't really care. He just did the bare minimum for the sake of a paycheck to leave to do his own thing. This indifference relative to everyone else stood out to him to the point of hyperfixation. Pizza Head created the Tower for the purpose of breaking Peppino down mentaly in hopes of reverting him to the bumbling stooge he wants him to be. His mistake was believing that pushing Peppino to the brink would make him as delusional as all the others, in reality when Peppino is pressured he becomes something PF cant control: A hypercompetant obsessive perfectionist. In Pillar John's revenge its shown that if Peppino is given enough time he can become someone who can break Pizza Tower and the fabric of reality over his knee just to prove he's above everyone else's nonsense. In the end, when PH got what he wanted he no longer wanted it and it cost him everything.
Very well articulated! Great job in describing the pattern in the bosses' motivations! I never considered that he was trying to intentionally drive Peppino insane or into delusiom, but that would make sense. As @maximumroxishere summarizes, it's exactly what Pizzaface ironically warns Peppino about in "The Death I Deservioli". The only thing is that's a separate timeline and warrants a distinction. I think Pizzahead drives Peppino to the brink in two separate ways depending on his fluctuations in morality that creates the divide; his hyperfixation on nostalgia would drive Peppino to either destroy anyone and anything who stands in his way to nobly protect his restaurant while still showing enough mercy to be considered a hero, or relish in the thrill of the race to become a violent and masochistic psychopath. But yeah, I agree that he's never DELUSIONAL in pretending to be something he's not, it's just two halves of a whole that backfire on Pizzahead. One side leaves him choking on dirt; the other leaves him in a personal hell he can likely never escape from. On a side note, I think I realized that Fake Peppino's entire existence as a "Pizzaboy-Brand Pie" as the goober himself puts it, was Pizzahead's attempt to recreate Peppino synthetically and make a chef that he could drive crazy later on. Anyway, as I said, you wrote an incredible comment! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

10:52 “You know, I never had much as a kid. Just loving parents, stability, and a tower… and a thriving pizza enterprise for me to inherit. Useless crap like that.”
Peppino: **goes berserk** Pizza head: Oh shi, uhhhh, pepperman, go kill him, you're strong enough Pepperman: YES! Pizza head: Let's run away gang, he is gonna hold in maximum for 1 minute so hurry tf up
>Peppino makes Pizzaface believe he's simply just gonna let himself take the hit >"Think fast" >Proceeds to throw a fork knight in his face >Does the family guy pose taunt >Doesn't elaborate further
11:00 this actually is a good explanation for why Pizza Granny helps out Peppino she’s fed up with her grandson not appreciating his wealth and power and obsessing over his past (I also had the theory that Pizza Granny created all the Pizza Creatures and taught Pizzahead about pizzamancy which he ended up using for evil which is why she helps Peppino destroy the tower)
Some folks think Pizzahead cut a Noise-shaped hole in the mallet, and I get the feeling either works for the chaotic energy of both Pizzahead and Noise.
All the pizza puns, the animated bits, the callbacks to your other boss songs and “It’s Pizza Time with Lyrics”… What a *supreme* finale! Very well done! 🤩👏
I love this Pizzahead. Peppino is a struggling worker, so it makes sense for his final boss, his opposite, to be a spoiled brat who’s out of touch with reality.
@@GigisqmOne problem though. 1. Almost every single one of these videos has had a constantly shifting art style 2. There is background music 3. Pizzahead’s entire character is that he’s a complete loon and 4. Of course the bosses are going to have lines that call back to their original songs, it’s a boss rush where Peppino has to face everything he’s already dealt with. And really “ai Minecraft”.
@@Skibster-w9l(this is about the other guy) Imagine thinking you’d get a serious song and a consistent art style with PIZZA HEAD in it He’s literally a 1980s gag cartoon MC Pepino already fills the role of making the song serious also the reuse of the lyrics is intentional since “memory mallet” and it shows how peppino stopped taking all of their sh&t Now that I think about it,the kids probably like 11

Buy pizzahead’s boss rush in a can for only $9.99! Available at the can aisle at the pizza shop. No refunds.
0:43 1:34 10:41 I really love hearing the "Your past is catchin' up to you and it's itching for round two" part, It's sound like a whole final fight, especially love it when pizzaface said it And i think im the only one mentioned this, What's yall favorite?
0:11 the funny part is this is the opposite of what actually happens in game Pizzaface takes a shower right before he fights Peppino so it’s implied pizzaface was covered in some substance that could kill Peppino that simply got washed off
8:27 I’m guessing Fake Peppino’s background music is a callback to the scrapped Fake Peppino Fan song, though i don’t know the name I’m guessing “Pizza Time with Fake Peppino” Oh I guess the music is from the intro & outro instrumental of Pizza Time Never Ends w/Lyrics
The fan song isn't "scrapped," he just didn't need to start making fan songs until music directly from the game started getting copyright struck. He's said FP's original song may happen if he decides to make an all bosses compilation video. The music in the background is a reference to the background song RecD made for PTNE WLYR during the non-song portions, which is called Fake Peppino's Fake Theme. The lyrics themselves are set to the melody of "The Irish Ballad," and they're a corrupted version of the lyrics Peppino sings to the same melody at one point in It's Pizza Time WLYR. Hope this info helps!
5:36 boss rush in a can, it uses portal technology to send all the bosses you faced during your adventure to your location so you can have a final challenge, there also two separate variations one being a normal one and the second being the fight all at the same time boss rush
DUDE...THAT WAS AWESOME!! I'm positively flabbergasted at the sheer amount of effort put into one of your longest original videos on the platform, which made it feel like mere moments! The worst part was it ended! I missed the first few minutes of the premiere, but I'm glad I caught the rest of it live! I don't know how I'm going to break all of this down without writing an essay, but with you keeping your promise in dividing this musical event into literal ACTS, I'll try my best! The first part with the last hurrah of Pizzaface set the stage for an epic boss fight with the intensity radiating from both parties as Peppino prepared himself with his Pizza Repellant (Sicilian Pizza Formula 425) with enough wit and puns to evoke your traditional style, but as soon as Pizza Face revealed himself, the rest of the song truly epitomized the title! His old-timey canned voice was a joy to listen to, and his diction and rubberhose movements clearly indicated he had a couple of screws loose. Suddenly, we're plunged into a complete scene change to a baseball game, a peculiar Catnap cameo (who ironically was sent to the moon like in SC), and a barrage of funny haircuts that Peppino was complicit(?) to? What?!?! Mugimikey always has the funniest animations! It's clear that Pizza Face ultimately doesn't give a hoot about anything, and Peppino, who has been long-suffering with innumerable obstacles and foes, doesn't take it for a moment longer and begins blasting him! Albeit ineffectively. Then the introduction of the boss rush...WAS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! By the way, kudos to whoever did the art style from 5:42-6:08 (and 9:20-10:28)! It looks just like how Pizza Tower's art style should be! Seeing the Memory Mallet from Twinsomnia make a cameo was interesting; Pizzaface's reality-warping abilities are obnoxiously strange! Allowing each of the bosses to have an entire segment with a callback to your incredible original songs (save for Fake Peppino, for obvious reasons) sent a wave of nostalgia through me. And Peppino's bigger involvement in singing the choruses really shows how fed up he is with them. My favorite part was when Peppino menacingly forced the Noise to drink his wife's blended dinner! How's that for schadenfreude you buck-toothed Snidely Whiplash freakazoid?! I'm glad that, despite his rage, he showed some kindness to The Vigilante and Fake Peppino. And then the big reveal: Pizzaface was Pizza Boy all along, trying to relive his glory days in his game role despite still reaping the benefits with royalties years later. When Peppino finds out the torture he went through and the anxiety over the death ray (Where was that btw? Another cardboard cutout?) wasn't even for revenge or spite, just a crazed nostalgia trip, THAT was the final straw! That last animations sequence, while simple, felt SO CATHARTIC AND POWERFUL as it reinvigorated the hype from the beginning with that hardcore rock track! And that final note you punched out was the cherry on top! I always appreciate your singing, RecD, but when you hit those notes just right, it exemplifies just how much you excel at the profession. And it was so satisfying to see the conclusion we'd all been hoping to see. The last few moments of them escaping the tower was a nice sendoff, even though it was just an endcap. Part of me wishes we could have seen the fate of Pillar John or a scene of everyone outside the tower, but considering it took a WHOLE YEAR to finalize everything, "Unexpected" was the best masterpiece we could have gotten! There's a lot more I could say about the magnitude of spectacular art, upbeat tunes, clever-as-always lyrics, but I'm sure the video speaks for itself. I hope we get to see more of our favorite manic Italian chef and his friends (and foes!) in the future in some form. Your Pizza Tower saga is one of the best tributes to a nifty WarioWare style game that captured the hearts with its cheesy dialogue peppered with charm and marinated in adventure with a sprig of existentialism. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, RecD! Or as Peppino and Gustavo would say, Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo! Or as Fake Peppino would say, Unhappy Arbor Days! (P.S. Haven't had a chance to play "Into the Pit", so my reaction to your fan song is very late. But I wanted to let you know that I loved the teaser!)
I find that Pizzahead actually controls robot, which Pizzaface is, ironic - given that The Chef (bad guy whom Peppino played in Pizza Boy Tower many years ago) also controlled giant mech with his face on it. Also, that points out how delusional Pizzahead is about himself as a hero, while in reality, he is evil final boss.
Peppino is just done with everything, the boss rush section was definitely the best though. The noise's section was the most memorable by far, watching Peppino sneak up behind him and just suffocate him with a psychotic smile was great.
If the story of these songs is to be taken seriously, that makes the existence of Fake Peppino even more disturbing. Before finding the real Peppino, he tried to make a clone to serve as his new playmate.
Considering how fake Peppino says he was synthesized as a "PIZZABOY-brand pie" in pizza time never ends with lyrics, i'm pretty sure that yes there is meant to be a bit of an overacrhing story going on
I love all of the callbacks to the previous songs so much 🔥 🙏 6:08 Perfect Pepper 6:45 Draw 7:37 Make Some Noise 8:27 It's Pizza time (Lol it's great to see this Gru-Sounding Goober again :D)
The lyrics are a reference to his Pizza Time with lyrics. As for the instrumental, it’s a corrupted version of either Tarantella Napoletana or Pizza Time (they both sound similar so unsure)
Now in this canon, i can kinda understand why Pizzahead became the way he was. Yes, he had money, fame, and a stable future, but he saw Peppino as a friend, and when he left, he felt like he had didn't have a friend anymore. Goes to show, Pizzaface is a child in an adults body. I feel kinda bad for him tbh.
You feel bad for the psychopath that endangered a man who he hadn't seen in years, threatened to blow up his establishment, and created multiple robotic/Gooey clones of said victim, all for his own twisted amusement?
Perhaps, but he went about it in all the wrong ways. He could have tried to form a genuine connection with Peppino or at the very least funded his restaurant to keep him around.
Both of you make a good point. I don't feel too bad for him, and he has no excuse, but it kinda explains why he's the way he is through my point of view. Like I said, he's pretty much a 2 beings in one, an adult's body, a child's mind.
5:57 Just noticed that when Pizzahead smacks the bosses, there's a Noise-shaped hole in the mallet as he just is drinking tea, showing that Noise is the only one who still wanted to kill Peppino after everything and didn't need the memory reset.
Calling it right now, the reason catnap is in the description is because Pizzahead it going to pull him up as an attack, because Pizzahead grabbed him at the end of take the test Edit: I KNEW IT!!!
Amazing video Tom, I know you had to pour your entire soul into this and it’s a massive culmination of what you’ve done this year, I’ve been on the team for about two years now and have watched everyone on the team grow so much, And this is an amazing finale to 2024. This song gives a whole new layer of context as to why "You Want You Don't Want" audio was used in the original Unexpectancy. Pizzahead had everything he could wish for, fame, power and wealth. But none of it mattered anything if he wasn't fighting against Peppino like he used to. At the end, Pizzahead got it all, but what's the point of having it all when *the best things in life are temporary* ?
This goes above and beyond anything someone could possibly ask for on Christmas Day. I respect every ounce of effort that was put into this song from the bottom of my heart. All you can do when you stumble upon these legendary type of videos is watch in complete and utter awe at the genius, and the care, and time, and patience that it takes to execute something so incredibly astounding. Sincerely, well done! And all the best for future projects!
This was so worth the wait! Though I think my favorite bit was the pre boss rush bit; I love that Noise was way too happy to be fighting Peppino, meanwhile the other bosses didn't want to. Well until they got bonked with the memory mallet.
I love how this song merges so many different styles so well, from pizza face's serious final boss demeanour to pizza head being silly and light hearted without a care in the world. The previous bosses all have their original themes just sped up and the melancholy theme near the end as pizza head explains his backstory. At the end it feels like the finale and meanwhile Peppino is just so done with everything though the whole thing. Overall an absolute masterpiece, Keep up the great work!
5:03 PizzaHead: "Hey hey! I'm absorbing the blows as if I'm some sort of, spongey material! So you know what that means? I get to pester Peppino tomorrow!!!"
8:19 Tell the artist who made the entire fake Peppino part that their artstyle is awesome, I'm not kidding. It's simple, it's cartoonish and Fake looks absolutely great. I'M SO GLAD THAT THERE WAS MY FAVOURITE ARTSTYLE IN THE SONG. ... Oh and I almost died from laughing. (Peppino speedruns balding) It was so UNEXPECTED

@@tylerb.gaming762 Watch the mallet scene and pay attention to the Noise-shaped hole that's visible after the fact. You can also see in that same part he seems nonchalant about it, unlike the others. Also, the "second shot" line was something I interpreted as a rematch, since it's the second time they fight in the game.
I feel like I'm the only one who gets the reference in the thumbnail. For those who didn't know what it is, it's the Famicom boxart for Super Mario Bros. All of the poses match up to that of the artwork, all the way to how Peppino is holding the Toppin. (Btw, for those who don't know, the Famicom was the Japanese version of the NES)

I agree with all of the compliments on this song and I do think it’s very good, but one bit of criticism I have is that it’s just feels to mellow. The whole song just feels way to mellow, structured and relaxed as opposed to Unexpectancy, the song this was based on and the game pizza tower itself which is fast, crazy and loud. But that’s just my two cents and I don’t want to come across as if I hate the song, this is just something I noticed.

If anything besides the endcard bit, it would just be a fanmade song like this. He stopped doing official Pizza Tower songs because of how copyright can be.
fun fact: at 5:57 where pizzahead bonks the gang where they turn back into mad but if you pause while pizzahead removes the bonk hammer of the gangs bodys we see that pepperman and vigilante and fake peppino are looking dead alike but noise just turns into british for no reason like WHAT
Noise references he's attacking AGAIN, and as we don't see him being actually squished by it, the hammer haves a hole with his exact shape, and he doesn't seems hurt, I think Pizzahead didn't hurt Noise since he already wanted to fight Peppino again

Oh god another
What Peppino tried to change about the bosses and what he decided mid-fight
Pepperman
Wanted: Peppino thought Pepperman could chabge for the better, breaking out of his ego to do something different.
Concluded: He though Pepperman was too stubborn to change, so MADE SURE he could beat him the fastest just so his failures could fly righr back to his face, and demoralize him into someone humble, or depressed, shown through the line: "Let this perfect battle BE YOUR LAST!"

Concluded: That Vigilante was too blinded by his fantasy, and literally told him to get a life, and to stop being delusional with the line: "DRAW! Your own conclusions for once! Those cowboy fantasies have made you a dunce! If you dont-a believe me, ask your own grandpa! SO YOU BEST WITHDRAW!" (Tbh the best rematch of lyrics)
The Noise
Wanted: Similar to Vigilante, he wanted to reason with Noise to make him stop being a dick to everyone for "entertainment" especially since he dismissed a potential MURDER for his tv show.
Concluded: He just wanted him dead to be honest, thinking the world would be better off if he wasn't there, hence just making him suffer with the "milk".
Peppinos Paghetti
Before: He didnt understand his motives... but after learning, he sympathized him for being nothing but an experiement.
After: He wasnt scared of him, and despite his rage, realized he probably couldnt even kill him if he wanted to, but some sympathy was still in him for this clone, so offered some of his hair, to make him happy... and so he himself wouldnt die.
Pizza Head
Wanted: He didnt have any grudge against him, he did what was best for him, and he didnt feel bad because he didnt really effect the company after he left.
Concluded: After realizing everything was just for his own entertainment, disregarding the things he still had and bringing Peppino down with him just so he could get what he wanted made Peppino decide to make the lesson clear, making sure he experiences what actual suffering is, by destroying his tower.

11:00 this actually is a good explanation for why Pizza Granny helps out Peppino she’s fed up with her grandson not appreciating his wealth and power and obsessing over his past

8:27 I’m guessing Fake Peppino’s background music is a callback to the scrapped Fake Peppino Fan song, though i don’t know the name I’m guessing “Pizza Time with Fake Peppino”
Oh I guess the music is from the intro & outro instrumental of Pizza Time Never Ends w/Lyrics
It’s pizza time never ends and that song officiall but lyrics
It's the song that plays when Fake Peppino is talking in pizza time never ends in the intro and in the outro
A manic flee cannot stop me, a chef with a normal accent!
I think it’s to the tune of funiculì funiculià, specifically not the iconic part during the first part of the song, but right after it.

Fake Peppino's song is Pizza Time Never Ends With Lyrics
Besides, what if the people who loved him only loved him for his game? What if they never tried to bond with him? What if they just wanted his money?
Also, notice how he said "The best things in life are temporary"? What if he tried to make a genuine bond, but it didn't work?

No shot you actually referenced None Pizza Left Beef at 1:37. Wow, never thought I’d hear that again.
fun fact: at 5:57 where pizzahead bonks the gang where they turn back into mad but if you pause while pizzahead removes the bonk hammer of the gangs bodys we see that pepperman and vigilante and fake peppino are looking dead alike but noise just turns into british for no reason like WHAT
Noise references he's attacking AGAIN, and as we don't see him being actually squished by it, the hammer haves a hole with his exact shape, and he doesn't seems hurt, I think Pizzahead didn't hurt Noise since he already wanted to fight Peppino again
Noise parried it.
@@maximumroxishere huh make sense
the reason noise became british is because noise tea
@toast.tf2 didnt noise was mexican

I love how brutally Peppino murders Noise
No hesitation

I wish you could’ve done crumbling tower of pizza with lyrics but this was AMAZING
4:56 I LOVE THIS PART SO MUCH!
I love the beat and how peppino shoots to the beat! And his tone of his voice changes with the beat also!
The Pizza Tower battle songs encapsulates the feeling of the fight
RecD battle songs encapsulates the personality and theme of the fight
Why does fake peppino say yay when he gets hit 8:59
