Got a similar idea to fum when i was 6. As an cigarette alternative with dried raspberries. Nice that a random mental invention of mine, also someone else came on it and made it.
@@LeatherDaddy97 - Of course, but the implication is that EHT SB isn't a heavy hitter. The "unicorn tears" portion of my description was speaking to the quality of the whiskey... it just also happens to be impossible to get your hands on.
@@RocketSauce666 i dont see how taylor is any better than anything you can just grab off the shelf every day. Its never won a blind for me. Whats better quality about it? What makes it a heavy hitter?
@@LeatherDaddy97 - I mean, Sean seems to disagree with you... he called it out as the winner of this blind before and backed it up with his ranking. Of course palates are different and taste is subjective, but I happen to love EHT and the Buffalo Trace flavor profile, so EHT SB is definitely a heavy hitter in my book.
I'm always so sad to see the John J Bowman at the same level than the most recent video ( I've been watching for almost a year now) That's literally one of my favorites bottles ever😂 Depending on what time of what day you ask me my favorite bourbon order always mixes up between Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Eh Taylor Single barrel and John J Bowman
I'm looking for a whiskey with a strong cherry or red fruit notes. Also, interested in whiskeys with banana or vanilla notes. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Would be interested to see you guys review the 10 year single barrel thats $90. I just picked it up and like it a lot. See how that one stacks against Michter’s 10.
That Penelope is $5 more than EHT SiB. They are both hard to find at MSRP. The Penelope will be easier to find on the shelf at MSRP. You would need to get into a bourbon event or get a bottle bundle to find EHT SiB at MSRP. That's still achievable.
Maybe I’m just becoming too much of a proof snob, I tried that new Penelope last week and just felt it lacked a richness and depth of flavor. The flavors in there were great, but I can’t help but feel like I’d have enjoyed it significantly more if it was in the 105-115 proof range. Last year’s 9 year was 109 and that was awesome
Its not possible to be addicted to Uncrustables!! They are Undoubtedly Unadulterated Unabashedly Unbelievably Undeniably sent from the gods to pleasure all of us!!

love when a video comes out about a bottle you just bought on a whim.
Absolutely love this format for your blinds! Thank you
when i first watched you guys a few months ago, i was not sure about ya all, but this is fast becoming my fav whisky channel:)
Just cracked the peerless toasted. That bottle is straight syrup drenched pancakes
Great video! I see why the EHT Taylor is so high-price in my area! Thank you! But from this video, I will be really looking for that Penelope! Cheers!

With all the new stuff and Heavy Hitters, good ole EH Taylor SB in for the win. Love it.
I mean... EHT SB is unobtainium unicorn tears... not sure why you expected it to finish anywhere but first.

Good job for Danny and Mike!!!!
My man, you're telling me I can play a vaporous flavor flute to help your channel?
I like where your heads are at on this blind. My first thought when I tasted the Penelope was I want to put this up against my OF 1924 and EHTSB. Lol
Nice! EH Taylor SB is a really nice pour! Cheers
hoping that penelope shows up here in California soon! great video, gents!
The skinny guy reminds me of Jim Carey lol Great Blind fellas- big fan of Penelope, last years 9 yr was a banger!
If you flambé French toast it will be crunchy
Penelope now being part of MGP makes it a legacy now doesn't it?
I'd say probably so

I don't think we have that one, but if we see it, we'll grab it
Great blind! EHT is damn near perfect bourbon. The fact that Penelope fits right in to these heavy hitters and is cheaper by ~$50 says a lot for it.

@@0529mpb I don't anticipate ever seeing EHT SiB at msrp but I'm hopeful for the Penelope, partly because it's brand new

This is a chunky blind. Cheers boys
The Penelope 9 year cask strength was ok - that’s the best one I’ve had. Generally underwhelming for the price point.
Where are you getting these great taylor single barrels? Every one of them ive had has been watered down cherry soda and nothing else
Which Penelope is that?
Private Select. From the 2024 estate collection
So is Russell's 13-15 in Russell's 10 or not?
Nope

Glad to see 1924 finally end up in the place it deserves to be.
