Agreed...i just wish i could find the Full Proof around here anymore...I can sometimes find the regular stuff, which is fine, but the Full Proof is where it's at.
I bought a bottle a year ago, loved it! Bought a new bottle 4 months ago and it’s just pure ethanol taste, got the neck pour out of the way and let it sit for a while and hasn’t gotten any better. Maybe just a bad bottle, my latest buffalo trace tastes much better than it and I hate to say that.
AE BIB $60 or less is a stretch. That's a $100 bottle because the normal person equates a bottle to the 750 ml range. You could have subbed in any number of bottles that are findable, HH BIB, Frey Ranch, RE Pipe Dream and not legacy.
Really surprised BBC Origin was that low. I love that bottle. 1910 is a favorite and I have been loving my New Riff SiB, so glad to see those show out!!
When I wanted to get into bourbons I remember my first recommended bottle at the liqour store that I bought was a 1792. That bottle got me hooked on bourbons. Next bottle was the Redwood pipe dream.
I love the 1792 FP. After literally never having found it before, I found store picks of that 3 times in a month over the spring. Haven't seen it since so I'm glad I bought it all 3 times I saw it.
I’ve had most of these and 1910 and 1792 would be my picks…one summer bottle that really surprised me that should be in this test is Makers private selection. Under 60 and it’s amazing.
Interesting thing about blind tasting is how it shows the bottle bias people have. I have seen several where people who " love Buffalo Trace" score it low when you dont see it in its bottle ( the bias ) and some random bourbon they say would be bad is actually a lot better.
Y’all should redo a 1792 blind. I know you’ve done one before but I think it’d be fun to revisit. I have almost the entire lineup. Didn’t think I was such a Barton fan.
1792 FP is becoming much more available here around Houston. For around $46 it's really hard to beat. Both 1910 and 1920 are right at $50, and equally deserving to be on this list.
used Klotz in my Polaris snowmobile in the nineties, almost smells like strawberries. You knew when I guy flew by if we was runnin Klotz. Amazing engine protection and smell! Yes, I am a boomer ;)
Maybe I missed the explanation, but why didn’t they use Rare Breed instead of the Wild Turkey gold label? Rare breed is under $60 still, around here, and while I’m not a WT fan, I most would prefer Rare Breed. I agree with the 1910 on top though.
Glad to see you've come around on 1792 fp. I haven't tried the 13th or angels... but my order would be 1792, new riff, turkey, bowman, 1910, barrel, origin.
Glad to hear the current New Riff SiB's are good. I have one from like 2-3 years ago and mine isn't very good. It's not a drain pour, but not something I ever go back to.
off the top of my head BBC>WTKS>Barrel>New Riff>1792>1910 for me. AE, JJB, and 13th arn't on my bar to compare. I'll blind them tonight and see if my expected ranking sticks.
1. 1792 FP 2. OF 1910 3. WT RB 4. New Riff Just my personal rankings! 1910 definitely hits hard, along with every other OF product. I just happen to like 1792 stuff a little more.
My local store regularly does picks of 1792 FP, and they're some of my favorite pours, but I'm also a big fan of the regular shelfer. Not surprised it held up well in this lineup. Cheers!
Bro they are just killing it rn. I got there ASM called Foggy Burl and it is so dang good. Not a recurring drop so I’m really milking it. Want to give Rocket Top a whirl next
Not surprised to see New Riff SiB up that high. But, 0:30 I have experienced varying degrees of good to excellent barrels. the SiB Ryes I’ve tried on the other hand have been more consistent hitters overall. One of the few craft distilleries that I buy from on the regular :)
I have 7 different old forester bottles on my shelf and backup bottles for the blue label and 1920. Someday I hope I can stumble across a birthday bourbon for msrp
A Whisky UA-cam channel finally figured out how to make these Blinds watchable and all they had to do was post a pic of what the sample was they were trying when they tried it. Thanks Fella’s Fucking Thank You.
I've always loved the Bowman PS. I haven't had the 1910 in a couple years. Will have to get another one of those soon. Angel's is just too expensive for what you get.
What hybrid arrived while filming? Is it better than the old one? I've been searching for a quote some time and always feel like I can do better ..lol Right now using a TM sim 19 and a M series 21 that have been decent. Not perfect though..with your new scoring scale maybe 75s each..lol I can cut the 21 and draw the 19 so there's that... Under $60 bourbons, green river full proof is one I'd like to try for a potential contender. Love the 1910 and 1792 FP though.
I have to imagine the order has a lot to do with the nosing and tasting notes. Barrel tastes flat after a full proof. Go figure... Maybe you can counter some of that with experience. But certainly it plays a part.
Really surprised 13th colony is that low. I bought two bottles tastes like strawberry cheese cake, thought it would be in top 3 to top 5. Surprising?????? I would swap the new riff and 13th colony. My bottle of new riff single must suck or something or my 13th colony must be really good.... Rest of the list tracks.....
I agree with the 13th colony being last. I did not care for that. Also, I've been telling people for a while now that 1792 FP is basically unmatched at $50. It is super hot, but it is also very rich and has a respectable amount of complexity.
I just picked up the OF 1897 BiB for $56 plus tax. However, I also just caught a cold, so, the taste buds and plugged nose will delay the opening, sad to say.
Love the Kentucky Spirits. Haven’t tried a few of these. If you had to pick one of these 4 to try, which would it be? New Riff, Barrel Foundation, Angels or the 13th colony?
I'm pretty new to Bourbon and have bought around 10 bottles so far. 1910 was one of the 10 and it has been my least favorite so far and it isn't even close. Everyone describes it as sweet or dessert like, but mine just tastes like chemicals. Is it possible I just got a bad bottle?
1792 is the most underrated line in whiskey. All their products are great. They are also reasonably priced and available.
I had some at a restaurant, and it's great
Completely agree! Barton is always passed over, but I'm a fan.
Agreed!
Agreed...i just wish i could find the Full Proof around here anymore...I can sometimes find the regular stuff, which is fine, but the Full Proof is where it's at.
Crappy branding
The current old forester blender has 1910 dialed in. Its a classic.
@@davidarteaga6054 cant speak to it man, but sounds like a bad bottle to me. Thats a shame.
I just bought a New Riff SiB down in Dallas a month ago, popped it open and it's fantastic! Glad I bought it.
Green River Full Proof and James E. Pepper Decanter.
2 of the best bottles I've had this year.
@CharleyCarey no doubt.
Came here to comment these exact same two bottles. Could even add Still Austin cask strength bourbon to this list too but 100% agree with GRFP and JEP
@@robwalchack9375 still Austin is decent for the price point but it just drinks super young and hot for me
Green River Full Proof is amazing.
Oh man... Klotz reminds me of the snowmobile days. You knew right away who was running the cotton candy oil in their sleds!
Klotz oil in a snowmobile exhaust is the best smell! 2 stroke baby!! 5:51
AE BIB $60 or less is a stretch. That's a $100 bottle because the normal person equates a bottle to the 750 ml range. You could have subbed in any number of bottles that are findable, HH BIB, Frey Ranch, RE Pipe Dream and not legacy.
AE Not available in my area under 60 but all other are.
13th Colony is by far my favorite and go to...1792 and 1910 are also on the top for me
Really surprised BBC Origin was that low.
1910 deserved the win.
1910 is a Killer bottle
I love the 1792 FP. After literally never having found it before, I found store picks of that 3 times in a month over the spring. Haven't seen it since so I'm glad I bought it all 3 times I saw it.
Deduct half of AE’s points for being a 375😂
Would like to see the green river full proof in this lineup
Heaven Hill BIB is a contender. So is Russel's 10 year...So is JD barrel Select....Glad you put the 1910 in there.....
JD Barrel Select makes a heck of an old fashioned
Single barrel, barrel proof
That 1792 is absolutely delicious. One of the few I can drink on the rocks with no bite or aftertaste. Just smooth all the way through.
Nice, I have multiple bottles of 1910 and the New Riff. Love that my palette is similar. 🤘🏼
I’ve had most of these and 1910 and 1792 would be my picks…one summer bottle that really surprised me that should be in this test is Makers private selection. Under 60 and it’s amazing.
Ooh man, the smell of Klotz in the air...we're racing 2 strokes today!
Interesting thing about blind tasting is how it shows the bottle bias people have. I have seen several where people who " love Buffalo Trace" score it low when you dont see it in its bottle ( the bias ) and some random bourbon they say would be bad is actually a lot better.
1792 FP is a great value that doesn't play hard to get. Mike's red hots in a glass kicks ass!
Y’all should redo a 1792 blind. I know you’ve done one before but I think it’d be fun to revisit. I have almost the entire lineup. Didn’t think I was such a Barton fan.
Origin series has been my favorite mid level sipper for a while now, its just so damn good
1792 FP is becoming much more available here around Houston.
Aside from the rankings this old guy liked the Klotz reference, as did my Yamaha enduro bike👍
Dan was right!
Have 2 pallets of 1792 fp at my Costco for 39.99 😂
1792FP, Barrel Vantage, KC Single store picks are my jam right now
Maybe I missed the explanation, but why didn’t they use Rare Breed instead of the Wild Turkey gold label? Rare breed is under $60 still, around here, and while I’m not a WT fan, I most would prefer Rare Breed. I agree with the 1910 on top though.
Rare Breed is my go to casual sipper. Nothing beats it for the price imo
agree, the Ky Spirit is typically about 10 buck more than RB
I'm Team OF 1920. I can go with 1910 as well. You could also talk me into a 1792 Full Proof. Here in FL...ALL of these are around or under $60.
Glad to see you've come around on 1792 fp. I haven't tried the 13th or angels... but my order would be 1792, new riff, turkey, bowman, 1910, barrel, origin.
nice...
1910 is top tier... i wish they'd do a barrel proof of it. but maybe that would just be unnecessary
1792 FP and 1910, both great but Green River would round out my top 3
I've only had your top three and i much prefer 1910 and New Riff SB over the 1972 FP tho it's fine. I think both the 1910 and New Riff are great buys.
Still Austin Cask Strength. 50-60 bucks. Hands down the best bourbon I have ever tasted.
If you see it, buy it. You'll thank me later.
Glad to hear the current New Riff SiB's are good. I have one from like 2-3 years ago and mine isn't very good. It's not a drain pour, but not something I ever go back to.
Glad you adjusted the scoring. Starting with 80s seemed to make things tough.
I remember Klotz from my MX days!
off the top of my head BBC>WTKS>Barrel>New Riff>1792>1910 for me. AE, JJB, and 13th arn't on my bar to compare. I'll blind them tonight and see if my expected ranking sticks.
Always have a Barrel these days. Their Mizunara finished is something special
I think 1792 Single Barrel and BiB are wayyy better than the fullproof 🤷🏻♂️. Surprised they liked the fullproof so much
I'd like to see more 1920 in blinds. Every blind I've done it comes in top 3. Phenomenal whiskey
100%. The 110-120 proof bottles such as the 1920, Knob Creek Full, Blackened Cask & Makers Cask hit extraordinarily hard.
1. 1792 FP
2. OF 1910
3. WT RB
4. New Riff
Just my personal rankings! 1910 definitely hits hard, along with every other OF product. I just happen to like 1792 stuff a little more.
Change the hyb rid the n/d setting you wont be disappointed
My local store regularly does picks of 1792 FP, and they're some of my favorite pours, but I'm also a big fan of the regular shelfer. Not surprised it held up well in this lineup. Cheers!
Redwood empire vote right here...
Bro they are just killing it rn. I got there ASM called Foggy Burl and it is so dang good. Not a recurring drop so I’m really milking it. Want to give Rocket Top a whirl next
1792 FP tops my list.
My preferences are of a high rye mash build .
klotz in a snowmobile with race gas is heaven
Not surprised to see New Riff SiB up that high. But, 0:30 I have experienced varying degrees of good to excellent barrels. the SiB Ryes I’ve tried on the other hand have been more consistent hitters overall. One of the few craft distilleries that I buy from on the regular :)
Upon further review, Green River Full Proof is probably my #1.
I have 7 different old forester bottles on my shelf and backup bottles for the blue label and 1920. Someday I hope I can stumble across a birthday bourbon for msrp
Klotz oil takes me back to my banshee days. So good
A Whisky UA-cam channel finally figured out how to make these Blinds watchable and all they had to do was post a pic of what the sample was they were trying when they tried it. Thanks Fella’s Fucking Thank You.
@20:32 Our 1792 Full Proof barrel was "lost" last year (similarly to your Eagle Rare); maybe your second barrel is our lost one - be warned! lol
Love it‼️ You’re the first I’ve seen take a swig from the bottle…. 😊😂👍😎
I’m right there with ya….🤣😂👏🏻
1792 FP is great. It's only like $45 too in my market.
I agree with top 3. AE is a 375 so the math would put it at 100. Haven't had a KS but sub Rare Breed and yeah.
Yes, 1792s are definitely solid.
Good morning everyone ☕️
Had a couple 1792 FP last night! Probably pouring some tonight as well - it’s a good one.
1910 over JJBSB blows my mind. Ill have to do a blind with the JJBSB limited edition green label and that 1910.
I've always loved the Bowman PS. I haven't had the 1910 in a couple years. Will have to get another one of those soon. Angel's is just too expensive for what you get.
Johnny drum. Haven't seen a Barrell product under $80.🥃
Sagamore double oak rye , 1910 old forester, redwood empire lost Monarch
Dang I love me some Sag Double Oak. It’s at least a twice a week pour for me.
Redwood Empire is putting out some great stuff, anyone who hasn’t tried it needs to.
What hybrid arrived while filming? Is it better than the old one? I've been searching for a quote some time and always feel like I can do better ..lol Right now using a TM sim 19 and a M series 21 that have been decent. 1792 FP is an awesome pour.
I'm no boomer but I love Klotz so much I have a Klotz candle. 🤙
What an awesome blind! You guys are the best and Sean's "WTF?!?!" was an instant classic. Thank you very much and keep up the great work. Cheers...
If you want to get a little crazy like me, blend 1792 full proof (2 parts) with 1792 12 year (1 part)
Great video. Shows you don’t have to spend a lot to get great bourbon.
Angel’s Envy Cask Strength BIB for under $60?? Good luck with that! :)
1910 would probably be second to last for me. Other than that, I think my lineup would be pretty similar. 1792 FP would definitely be my 1st place
OF1920 or a good KC Single Barrel hands down.
The Shinning Bar is back
Where did you get shelves??
Do the golden glens have a different texture feel? They look like they do.
Got the thirteenth colony cask strength !! Unbelievable. 🥃
1910 then the wild turkey then the 13 colony top 3
Should have had Rare Breed in there. 1910 is too sweet for me. Much better to blend 60% 1920 and 40% 1910. That is a great whiskey.
REALLY needed WT Rare Breed in there!
Klotz is the OG especially mixed with 100+ octane. GTS maybe?
Don't you guys always select 1792 high on your taste tests? I do love both 1910 & 1792 for under 60. Cheers
I have to imagine the order has a lot to do with the nosing and tasting notes. Barrel tastes flat after a full proof. Go figure... Maybe you can counter some of that with experience. But certainly it plays a part.

Nothing beats a box of Hot Tamales Cinnamon Candy and a Coke!
The laugh in the back with the dual “69s”. 😂😂😂😂
Dan might be a genius.
Hard might. But it’s there.
1792 full proof all day. A store pick is icing on the cakes
Great lineup
What is that bottle on the wall to the upper right of the Russell's??? :D :D
New Riff sb is really good
Was just looking at Kroger and did Stonehammer rebrand to Tradewater?
You can’t actually get that Bowmen’s anymore. That bottle is when they were still sourcing from BT
Love the Kentucky Spirits. Haven’t tried a few of these. If you had to pick one of these 4 to try, which would it be?
New Riff, Barrel Foundation, Angels or the 13th colony?
New Riff single barrel
I’m wondering if you have ever done a review on JD Single Barrel/Barrel Proof …. To me it way over the top 😮
I'm surprised that Michter's small batch bourbon didn't make the lineup.
Yeah! Barrel picks!
