    super powerful capability and it’s making me rethink all of my general purpose, kitchen-sink rigs and also got me thinking differently about rig design. Great tutorial and you presented it such that a complete simpleton (aka me) could understand - well done and thanks for doing this!

    This one is a game changer simply because the cost and amount of cable management involved to replicate this with a real pedalboard is ridiculous.

    Fractal fm3 does same thing which has a,b,c,d channel in each preset which is great I have fender contact me awhile ago and gave feedback the other was a pop between switching user patches hope they fixed that as well. Good stuff

    This is helpful. Thank you. Is there any way to also adjust parameters together with switchlink? For example, I want to use the same delay between Chorus and Solo but want to increase delay mix or feedback in Solo..

    Excellent tutorial as always, Doug. There's more we need to know: for gigging musicians like myself and coming from the Helix Floor, I like to program one preset per song. Within that preset, I would like to switch between 1-3 "snapshots" or variations, such as Intro, Verse, Lead, etc. I know that with the TMP's Song mode, I can create 3 or four presets and load them into a song. Quite frankly, that's tedious, and it makes the total number of presets on my list unwieldy. How do I create a preset that will have these variations that will then allow me to go through the presets in the order of my gig's song list? Is there a way to see a number of presets assigned to different footswitches at a glance, or am I limited to using the two far left footswitches to go up or down for each preset? As always, thank you for your time.

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  4 місяці тому +1

      Daniel - It's been more than a few years since I last gigged, so I haven't gone thru my TMP to set it up for my old band's setlist. But I'll try to give you a decent answer. I came to the TMP from Fractal, where Snapshots are called Scenes. Same concept tho - you can save up to 8 variations of whatever blocks are in your preset, basically giving you 8 presets within each preset. That flexibility is amazing!
      If you had more than 5 parameters changing when you switched from Snapshot to Snapshot and you want to replicate that on the TMP, then you will have to use separate Presets saved together in Song mode. But if you only need 1-5 parameter changing per Snapshot, that can be done easily on the TMP. If you've updated to the latest firmware, try preset #12 "Maximus Twin" in the Fender factory set of presets. Go into FS Mode. The bottom row of footswitches are labeled "Clean", "Crunch", "Lead" and "Greasy". You can think of them as Snapshots. Take a look at the footswitch assignments for those footswitches; they turn blocks on or off, they adjust levels, etc. And Fender updated this preset to use Switch Link, so you can switch from Snapshot to Snapshot and everything gets set correctly. I also created a preset called "Doug B's BFG v1.2" that has 8 Snapshots. You can download it from the cloud to see how I set it up. So yes, you can easily create "Intro", "Verse", "Lead", etc.
      As far as being able to see a number of presets at one time, you should be able to press the FS Mode footswitch again to get back to Presets view, which gives you Bank Up, Bank Down, six Preset footswitches, FS Mode and Tap/Tuner. So you'd select a preset, click on FS Mode, use your Snapshots, click on FS Mode again and select your next preset, and so on. The FS Mode footswitch toggles back and forth from Presets mode to Effects mode.
      If this isn't how your footswitch layout is set up, click on the gear icon in the upper right, which brings you to the Footswitch Settings panel. "FS Mode: Presets" should be set to 6 PRESETS and "FS Mode: Effects" should be set to 8 EFFECTS.
      Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

      @@DougBsDigitalDen thank you for the tips. I,too, had the Fractal Unit. I used it from 2011 to 2015 with the propriety floorboard. I sold it when the AX8 came out to minimize my setup. When the Helix came out however, I jumped ship. It was so more intuitive. Hopefully, the TMP's computer editor will become more feature rich over time.

    I appreciate all the hard work you've been putting in these videos Doug. I still find that the switch link is very underwhelming. You still can't switch bewtween two amp and share some of your pedals with both amps. The switchlink function should have a specific on/off/or unchanged for each block in your preset. That way you can specifically have whatever you want with no ambiguity . The unit gets confused when youtry to do some basic programming. I hope they fix this. Or else it's back to song mode only.

      I have a new "Limelight" preset that has 6 scenes. I switch between 2 amps and use the same effects with both amps. I'll put it on the Cloud right now.

    Hello. How to correctly connect the TMP to a traditional Fender amplifier

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  Місяць тому +1

      Set the traditional Fender amp as loud and CLEAN as you can get it. Set the tone controls in the middle. Now connect a guitar cable from one of the 1/4" outs on OUTPUT 1 on the TMP and connect the other end to the amp. Plug your guitar into the TMP and have fun - and it'll sound even better if you have 2 amps to connect to, because then you can use the stereo effects!

    Doug .... I followed you steps exactly for the 1.2.56 update ... seems it updated, but no where in the previous video did it say "Eject" the Fender App ... now mine says not ejected before disconnecting ... and I only have one new factory "Preset" which is $135 which is now "Woodstock" and before all of the firmware update and the "factory reset" ... present #124 was "Woodstock" ... so all I am seeing in one new preset ... is my system wrong? .... thank you ...

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  3 місяці тому

      I'm not sure what you mean when you say to "eject the Fender app" - do you mean the Fender icon that shows up on your computer screen when you put your TMP in update mode? When you drag the firmware file on top of the FENDER icon, it will copy the firmware file to the TMP and then will eject itself. Then it will give you the message about "not disconnecting before ejecting", so that's normal. Yes, there is only 1 new preset, "Brit 800".

    Hi Doug. I have a question for you that you may be able to help me with. It is regarding the TMP as an audio interface. I do not do any actual recording. But I do primarily like to play Apple Music from my iMac along with my guitar plugged into my TMP.
    I hope I am not getting too convoluted here. This is what I experienced today. I have brand new Focal 8" Evo speakers and I plugged them into the XLR outs of my TMP. I was using the USB from my iMac into the USB of the TMP. It all sounded pretty bad. I tried EQing and such. Then I decided to get my iPhone out and use Bluetooth from my iPhone to the TMP playing to the Focal's... and it sounded Way better. I do not understand. How can it sound better through the Bluetooth than the USB? Thanks for listening and if you can do a video to help me get the best out of my system I would really appreciate it.
    I want to get the best sound I can from Apple Music playing into the TMP along with my guitar. That is my primary reason for having the TMP. Why does Apple Music sound so thin when I am playing it through 1K speakers? This can't be right? Okay, I am repeating myself here. Thanks for your help in advance my friend.

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  4 місяці тому +1

      Brian - it sounds like maybe an issue with the Audio setup on the Mac. I'm assuming you tried guitar and it sounded good, yes? And BT sounds good. I just tried the TMP with my DAW as both input and output and it sounds great. You could try BT on your iMac and see if that works. My only suggestion would be to make sure that you have USB 1/2 enabled in the Output Assign panel. Click on the Output for any preset to check these settings.

    But what about this scenario? I have an OD in FS1 and another OD in FS2 that I want to stack. Now, here's where I have an issue with the old firmware. I want to have the delay on for both of those ODs. I've tried assigning the delay to both foot switches but that just toggles the delay on and off. Not what I want. I've tried assigning it to only one foot switch, still the same result. Does Switch Link fix this?

    • @DougBsDigitalDen
      @DougBsDigitalDen  4 місяці тому +1

      No it doesn't , but if I understand you correctly, you want be able to turn both ODs and the delay on and off at the same time. You could set up one ON/OFF switch and click on all 3 pedals that you want included.

    • @genenery9315
      @genenery9315 4 місяці тому

      @@DougBsDigitalDen Not quite. When I hit the first switch, the OD and the delay comes on. Now if I want to stack the other OD I'll step on the second foot switch and I want it to keep the delay turned on. Right now, it turns the delay off and I don't want that.
