that only works with two midbosses in the game (dialogue must be on-screen for it to last long enough to), and even then, with only two characters' bombs, and it's usually not worth doing unless you're speedrunning the extra or something.
This game really is quite nutty, so many bugs and such unbalanced patterns here and there. Granted we had assumed it was far worse than it is in the first few days we played this until we figured out things like strategies for the stage 4 spam as an example. Also a thumbs up for the Mario OST.
Okay, I hope Satono ends up becoming the next Merupo. For those unfamiliar, Perfect Cherry Blossom has a nasty bug with its stage 4 boss, the Prismriver Sisters. Basically, if you finish their second-to-last spellcard at the wrong time, the scripting will get messed up, and Merlin Prismriver will not properly transition to the final spell script; she’ll keep doing the same thing from the second-to-last spell, which not only messes up the final spell and makes it a lot harder, but results in her continuing to attack you during the post-boss dialogue. Fans naturally had a field day with this, and started portraying Merlin as a total nutcase, nicknamed “Merupo”. Maybe the same thing could happen with Satono.
Minogame1 you can actually kill both EX midbosses in spell practice before the spell is declared. Also, isn't speedkilling Nemuno's last spell still a thing? (With summer, at least)
yeah use release to quick kill some ex midboss card and kill one girl, i forget who. the other will just stand there and not declare a spell, and you can kill her
Not really a bug, but Okina's Snowmen spell bullets actually are unclearable when they're still black. Honestly, try using Spring's flashbomb to clear any of the black ones; it won't work!
I'm usually not that good with bullet hell games. Almost all the windows Touhou games I only cleared Normal mode without continues, and I only managed to clear some extra stages. That being said because of the release abuses, Okina Matara is among the easiest extra bosses despite her lore, especially with Reimu. I still think that Suwako Moriya was the easiest though, especially with Marisa laser glitch.
I need to be less drunk when I play these games. I didn't even manage to learn character names for this one. To me, they are just "butterfly girl," "mountain witch," "dog girl," "winter girl," "dancers" and "four seasons total landscaping"
Tengu frenzy is probably my favourite Spell Card in the game. Beautiful to look at and fun to doge. I think this will end up being my third favourite touhou game, though it will be a while for me to know for sure.
It's funny because Wily Beast and Weakest Creature still has replay graphical glitch, Marisa replay desync, and extra boss "survival" spell. It's probably safe to say nothing was fixed on the ZUNEngine for Touhou 17, because Touhou 17 doesn't have release mechanics or two-bosses-at-once fights to show if they're still broken.

hsifs’ difficulty is pretty simple until you get to stage four because statue girl and those dang fairies and if that wasn’t bad stage five is *HELL* season releases exist to make you feel happier and safer
For some reason, I am not able to replicate the Satono disappearing glitch with Wine. It seems that Wine has better compatibility with certain Windows software then Windows itself.
On the demo I got a bug where Cirno's options stopped shooting at all, similar to the lazy crows bug, but in this case ALL the options went off, meaning the only fire power came from Cirno's main shoot. Dunno if you want more details, it was the demo after all, but who knows... Also, the glitchy graphics on spell practice replays can be stacked over and over again if you wait until the end of the replay and then watch again. You'll be stacking layers of screenshots and actually getting lots of lag if you replay again too much (I never went so far with that, but it may eventually crash the game). Fun video btw XD
You forgot one more, in Extra Midboss spell practice, you can kill Mai before the spellcard start and when you want to kill Satono too, she just gone and you have to Retry it lol
I have a bug: When Okina is about to use Final Spell Card if you press release button just at the right moment you can skip 1st phase of spell card almost entirely
They are broken. You can cruise through Lunatic with Fall release even if you're generally bad at shmups, because dodging is taken out of the equation entirely. I think ZUN intended for releases to be used as a fun scoring mechanic, not something that can nullify all bullets for the entirety of the game on the highest difficulty level (save for Okina's last spell, obviously- but hey, conveniently Fall is the easiest final spell too).

To add to the Narumi glitch, she doesn't disappear and neither does her hitbox, so you can still die by running into her. It can also happen in a standard run as well. (Not sure if it can still happen in the middle of dialogue.)
I thought the Okina "release2play" spell was normal. It makes this card a bigger challenge for those who don't want to use resources and makes it easier for everyone else. Plus it forcibly teaches you, if you didn't know already, that the release aura hurts the boss (which is actually very useful to pwnd the midbosses)

Well, I don´t know if it is already fixed, but continuing keeps the amount of points to get a new life at it was BEFORE continuing. Just loose on purpose on late levels to experience it.
Narumi's hitbox doesn't disappear after you defeat her in practice or at the end of story. Also, you can easy mode the fire balls that rise up for Narumi final spell. There's a gap that you can go between and the fire balls arch up. However, if the gap is small, you can get hit. Not sure if I explained it well, but you know.
Yea I noticed the Narumi hitbox thing and I was hoping he'd mention it. In Spell Practice you still cap the card as long as Get Spell Card Bonus was onscreen
I can't believe the number of times I died because I bumped at her post-death hitbox. Also, that Bullet Golem spell is painfully burned in my mind. That thing is Okina-level for me
If you accelerate the replay using z (or at least that happen in the demo) you broke the replays and changes all sub seasons into spring, and obviously, you die in te replays

I thought fall final was the hardest and I've only completed spring and summer. I just can't deal with Okina moving all over the place. Winter doesn't seem bad but the subshot feels weak...
So, is there an official statement about Winter's subshots only supposed to be firing one at a time? I've never seen one and though I can see why it would be silly otherwise it just seems silly to have 6 options show up but not have them all firing at the same time.
each winter level corresponds to an individual damage level and it increases as you go higher up. i believe it's a 70 damage laser at level 1 and a 250 damage laser at level 6. however stacking all 6 of them together makes the laser deal a total of 900ish damage. since you only deal damage with the highest leveled laser otherwise it can be assumed laser stacking is unintentional especially since stopping your shooting defaults back to highest laser only.
While I understand the numbers and everything, I've just wondered if we've heard any word from the man behind the beer himself. While we can assume that he didn't attempt to make Winter a broken season, there has been balancing silliness in the past with his code. Even so, it still raises the question of why have 6 options rack themselves up behind you if only one's gonna fire? They're not easily distinguishable enough for you to count them at an instant to determine your release level, and having them stack all behind you just _looks_ kinda gross (at least in my opinion). If only one option is _supposed_ to fire, I suppose the question becomes "Why even bother having the other 5 options show up?" I mean, I guess I did just say that ZUN makes mistakes, so it could have been a leftover or an oversight. Either way the winter shot is just odd in this game, though far from bad.
Marisa focus up close. Aya and Cirno shotgun don't make a substantial enough difference in this game. Reimu's homing is surprisingly strong this game too.
