+Alexander Aultman Yeah, looks like Super 8. Has a very special quality. Especially nostalgic for those of us who are old enough to have home movies shot of film.
obsessions like i have for Land of T alk only come around once in a while. Very rarely can a band completely deliver with every song i hear but Land of Talk is definitely one of those bands. Pure Perfection
What started at a summer lake A sentence and a name If only for a moment's sake We called it and it came Held it down-the loving heat- Longer than a time Held it down-the loving heat- Softer than a chime We've seen how Sick Wind blows But I've got your bovine eyes I'll love you like I love you Then I'll die Shot the rats and as they ran From the quarry to the tracks Chased them as you took my hand And never gave it back Held it up and felt the wind Blow and miss a chime Found a god and begged it in To fight your body crime We've seen The Sick Wind blow But I've got your bovine eyes I'll love you like I love you Then I'll die
During the late eighties and early nineties I listened to a lot of college bands with female vocalists - Land of Talk really takes me back to that time while still moving forward.

Great song, great band, and I'm in love with Elizabeth Powell! Man, Saddle Creek rarely misses. Im starting to like this song more than "Summer Special"!
When people ask what album I can listen to for my whole life. Always say this Beautiful album. I suffer from bpdd and this gets me though my days when I get in a dark episode ever since it’s release it has really help though the worst of times it’s cheers me up so much 🖤
i was once standing in line behind this band at Montreal's Trudeau Intl airport!! :) they had their band gear and all, headed down to the states for a gig :) awesome band.
Started at a summer lake, A sentence and a name. If only for a moments sake, You called it and it came. Held him down and let him eat, Longer then a while. Hold it down and let him eat, Softer then a child. We've seen how sick wind blows, But I've got your bovine eyes. And I'll love you like i love you when i die. We've seen how sick wind blows, But I've got your bovine eyes. And I'll love you like i love you when i die. Shot the rats and as they ran, From the quarry to the track. Chasing what i gave to him, I never took it back. Held it up in front the wind, Blowing missing chime. Found it, God, and begged him, Fight your body back. We've seen how sick wind blows, But I've got your bovine eyes. And I'll love you like i love you when i die. We've seen how sick wind blows, But I've got your bovine eyes. And I'll love you like i love you when i die. I believed he is the number one who wants to let you wonder. We've seen how sick wind blows, But I've got your bovine eyes. +TheDORIANGRAE : I was at the Bowery on Sun., were you there as well because they also played at some place called Babies the night before which I didn't go to that one. I had front row. Around 5:30 or so or later after they were done rehearsing I saw the drummer outside smoking a cigarette talking to the other guitar player. I said hi to him, he just looked at me and ignored me so I didn't bother him because he obviously wasn't in the talking mood.

This was a golden age of music and we didn't realize it or appreciate it enough
I think I really did!
@@michaelazigova7030 me too...and i miss those times, and the twenty years of music before it.
Still listening in 2023. This takes me back to 17 years old in a moment
You're making me feel oldish. I was a ripe 27.
2024 here haha
One of the most underrated bands I've ever heard.
This song randomly came into my mind. Hadn't heard it in years. So good.
This song always seems "fresh". Magical

What a chorus.... I love when she says "but i've got your bovine eyes"

Neither can I Original Dragon Ball Krillan
These lyrics are fantastic. Elizabeth powell. (Applause)
This song is like beautiful and melancholic memory
I never realized until now how amazing the cinematography is in this video. Also the use of film cameras adds a special sort of charm.
+Alexander Aultman Yeah, looks like Super 8. Has a very special quality. Especially nostalgic for those of us who are old enough to have home movies shot of film.
Truly. It's so effortless in feeling but meticulous in construction
The blocking is really excellent in every frame
This song made me cry cry alot :
I can honestly listen to their music without skipping at all, including a whole album at a time. Thank the gods of music for their birth.
I've had this on repeat for the past 2 years
She's got a great voice
love love love amazing sense of melody and overall songwriting ability CLASSIC SADDLE CREEK

Igual me paso, es hermosa
Lo mismo digo... Preciosoooooo
Opino lo mismo. Tienen muy buenos temas, incluso mejores que el que recomendó Alvin.
Wow, excellent chorus
like the feel of the video and the song and the way she sings
Excellent video from one of my favorite bands.
LoT brings me back to my university days, roaming the streets of downtown Montreal in my pajamas at 2AM and searching for coffee.

I'm so late to hear this great band
Still 2024❤
I had to wade through so many butter commercials to find this song (I remember it as Land of Lakes)
Really great band. Thanks to RPI college radio for playing this while I was driving home!
"The aroma of the rained wind made life's stinch flex a little and I felt it."

Great guitar
Reminds me a bit of Hooverphonic.
As you all said, I love her voice!
Yes in every way.
I think Elizabeth is a great singer! I'd like to see them come to N.Y. sometime down the road.
+MrRaymo88 They'll be in NY in May.
+TheDORIANGRAE Thanks for letting me know!! Bought a ticket because of you. Are you going also?

does anyone have any explanation for the lyrics
not sure about the source but apparently it's inspired by her parents longlasting relationship
