I think that another thing all E46 owners should get is the BlueBus. Its the absolute best bluetooth solution for these cars and adds steering wheel controls to the OEM steering wheel buttons as well as displaying the current song playing on the head unit.

I’ve owned both an E36 and E46 as a daily driver. I’d definitely go with the E46 if you can only pick one car for everything. It’s much more comfortable, the interior doesn’t fall apart (as badly as the E36), and it’s actually pretty quick compared to regular traffic (in 330ci spec). Obviously try to get a manual, but if you can only afford the auto it still handles amazing and the engine sounds glorious with the right exhaust. The car still puts a smile on my face after two years.
@@anthonyosorio7179 my E36 had a magnaflow which sounded good. The E46 had a straight pipe when I bought it. Sounds a little bland, so if I was getting a new exhaust I’d get something closer to a magnaflow with a resonator
I have a 99 323i M52TU -Alpine White with 71k, automatic and it was one owner and always babied and has all records from BMW from 1999. I always let it warm up and drive it like a grandma I'm happy with this, it will last forever.
Just bought a e46 325 coupe it needs a bit of love and work but noting that cant be solved and for the price of 1250 and 23400km i cant complain. Fell in love whit the car om the first drive it drives like a dream!
I have a 330xi with zhp cams and a 2005 330i. Both have 6 speeds. Make sure you check the vacuum and ccv! There's also an o ring on the dipstick and a line on the intake that are common areas for failure on these old cars.
How perfect of a moment you guys are building up on this. Just got a 330ci 5spd manual and have been enjoying the build. Just might get some wheels from you guys soon!
330 ci love it . Needs more power . I added a deflector plate aluminum under the intake scoop , it works . Looking for some nice seat covers any ideas.?
I just got a 2005 330i and I’m so happy with it already the motor makes a lil sound sometimes but after all the research I’ve done it seems like the best choice possible for the price I paid for it $1000 cad
I have 320ci since 1 and a half year. Underpowered but insane fun, especially in touges and some illegal stuff😂. If you want a fun car, this is perfect. If you want a daily, don't do it. Don't get me wrong, I daily mine & it never left me stranded, but its old, sealings are giving up, wind becomes louder, if you are on coils like me u feel every bump, its noisy af in there. So city/touge fun driver - perfect. Daily highway - ass
I bought a manual 330i around April of last year. It had 118*** miles when I bought it. It’s still my daily driver up to this date. I’ve only had to replace the fuel pump. I bought the part used for $60 and put it myself. I love these cars. Don’t believe all the hype that bmw will break down always and cost you thousands to repair. The e46 is my favorite car I’ve had so far, just take care of it and it won’t fall apart on you, just like any other cars.
Every E46 I owned, first thing I do is replace clutch fan with electric, change out coolant hoses with silicone, plastic expansion tank for aluminum and many more other things to ensure I'm not stranded lol
Do not put an aluminium expansion tank on it. The tank is designed as a weak spot, and if it’s blowing then you’ve got a problem somewhere else in the system. You put an aluminium tank in it then something else is gonna blow first, and whatever it is will be a lot pricier than a plastic tank. Find the problem and fix it, don’t stick a bandaid over it with an aluminium tank
My father passed away last year and left us his 2004 325i with only 100k miles… the tires are deflated the battery is dead and the oil pan & power steering is leaking. Is it worth a restoration? Rust present only on the back right fender
Personally I love my 323i e46. Underpowered? yes. Does that mean you have to drive with your foot on the floor to have fun? also yes. But that's what makes it so fun!

Okey I must say I didn't had money and even with better judgment I now own sedan E46 with N42B20 from 2003... And is quiet amaizing (it did broke twice but was still running and technically not engine it self but parts "around engine" but other then that it runs smoothly and has enough power for that car). And yes I was thinking about swap but is stupid to throw away good engine that you can still try to modify....oh and I don't think it will ever die (you know like only 2 small points of corrosion both in places that are easy to replace and car have a little over 403k km driven.
Honestly SMG gets too much hate but I don’t mind if it means I can get it for cheaper because people don’t know how to fix them or use the INPA software
Just wait till you hear about the diesel ones with the M47 and M57 engines and then wonder how to import them to the US and gap some Hondas with some tractor juice and then get some MPGs that even some Priuses are jealous of So, yeah best all around car made IMO which I'm not biased at all, I surely don't have one and surely don't get 40MPGs daily driving mine and sometimes smoking others and other times drifting it just casually 😁
