J'avais 19 ans quand j'ai découvert cette chanson "Don't Cry for Me Argentina " au cinéma en 1983 dans le film "Le Mystère Sylkwood" (titre en français) , avec Meryl Streep . Et depuis je n'ai jamais oublié cette chanson , ni le film . Merci pour ce magnifique partage .........🎧
Never had heard of Julie Covington before, and certainly never knew she was the FIRST to sing the role of Evita! I always thought first was Elaine Paige, and then Patti Lupone. This is amazing to hear! Totally different voice from the other two, but AT LEAST just as good!!! THANK YOU!!!
I heard this the 1st time it was aired on radio, remember it like it was yesterday. The radio presenter didn't know what to make of it.... I did though one of the greatest songs ever and Julie's version has never been bettered.

To think she turned down the lead in the musical because she didnt believe she could do this song any justice, her own recording, that my friends says it all
Many people say that this is the best version of Argentina but sadly I can’t agree, Julie seems very flat, there is very little passion in her voice, it sounds like she is bored singing the song, I am very underwhelmed.
