The guy with the beard is fondly known as Gandalf his real name is Leyland Sklar one of the worlds greatest bassists. Im 60 and was there when this was released, to date, phils drum drop is one of the best in music history.
Everyone being a teenager in the 80's can remember at least one time playing air drums on the dashboard in the car, listening to this song on full blast.
And he did this with a crowd of 80,000, but they were very good behaver-ed for him but I don't think that I have ever heard the applause so loud, that they gave him at the end of his performance....
You guys should pause when you talk... talking over songs takes away alot from the reaction. Pause then talk... it's kind of annoying if you're a viewer. Not bad reaction...just pause then talk
No one can cover Phil. He and his songs are epic. This is amazing. Genesis with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins in the early '70s were HUGE in Italy. Italians were some of the best fans. This was the start of the second half. Collins had 2hr+ concerts as a rule. This Paris concert is worth seeing.
He was 53 years old when he did this concert in Bercy, Paris in 2004. Truly an amazing performance by Brad Cole (keyboards, synthesizers, Vocoder), Daryl Stuermer (6 String Guitar), Leland Sklar (Bass Guitar), Chester Thompson ("Rhythm" Drums) and Phil himself (vocals, drums). It was performed in front of 20,000 + people at the "Palais Omnisport de Paris" and truly was, if not the greatest, close to the greatest live performance ever. It was from his "Finally... The First Farewell" Tour and this particular concert in Bercy started with an amazing "Drums, Drums & More Drums" track performed by Phil and his other drummer, the previously mentioned Mr. Thompson. Incidentally, this track ("In the Air Tonight") was the 17th in the tracklist sandwiched between Separate Lives and Dance into the Light. Phil had the energy he had in this song all the way through to the end of the concert (as did his musicians). Now that he can no longer drum, his son NIcholas plays drums almost as well as the old man did--literally--Phil is in his 70's now. His son was on the Domino tour with Genesis recently. Oh and of course, his daughter Lily is rapidly becoming a famous actress in her own right. So, he's still doing alright I suppose (tongue in cheek).
PHIL was 57 when he did this concert,,,,And his Voice & Drum playing is always AWESOME..He can sure pack a house full..I am 62 & I grew up Loving his music.......He is Epic...!!!!!
If you young ladies like live videos might I recommend, pretty much anything from Queen Rocks Montreal 1981, I saw them on that tour at Madison Square Garden in September 1980. Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Fat Bottomed Girls or my favorite from that show "Save Me". It was a new song off their "Jazz" album.
Phil was a noted drummer before he started singing with Genesis. When their singer left he was asked to fill in and did such a good job he remained as the singer / drummer. He then added a solo career and sold millions of albums, wrote film tracks, screenplays and was an actor as well. Sadly he literally broke his back for his drumming which was always exceptionally powerful. He can now hardly walk and cannot play drums any more. Mentally he went into a very bad place but he seems to be OK now and doing gigs (sitting down no less) with the ex members of Genesis. His son plays drums for him. Wonderfully talented in so many ways and a pretty genuinely nice guy as well.
No saben lo que están haciendo frente a un verdadero artista , creo no están educadas para esto , de verdad que ustedes tienen que tener una educación especial para reaccionar a este artista , ustedes no están capacitadas para esta eminencia .😮
Very familiar with this song. It has a bit of a somber backstory. But I just listen to enjoy it. Sure, have Kiara get on a stream with you two. Tell her to quit goofing off in Rome. LOL!! She is shy? Oh well I'm probably too bold sometimes. 😀
Phil replaced Peter Gabriel in Genesis and became drummer/singer in the 70s. Peter Gabriel was an enigmatic figure. You should check his ‘In Your Eyes’ from the One World tour. If that doesn’t have you dancing in the isles, nothing will. ua-cam.com/video/evN6DIGPIJM/v-deo.html
Great reaction Anna / Francesca - really enjoyed watching you lady's and it looked like you really enjoyed yourselves along with a nice drink - would love to know were to get some of those drinking glasses, also it was the first song after the interval.... and was wondering if you would reaction to *separate lives* *by Phil Collins with Amy keys* its from the same concert (first farewell tour in Paris 2004* Ps: wishing you all (that's including Chiara ) all the success on your channel - Thanks again lady's 🌹❤🌹
Phil Collins wrote and sang the soundtrack to the Disney Movie Tarzan , As a solo artist Phil has sold over 100 million albums making him 3rd in the world on sales from a male solo artist , only Elvis Presley and Prince have sold more albums than Phil . Phil is also an actor starring in the movie Buster and back in the 1960s he played a small cameo role when he was 13 in The Beatles Movie A hard days night .
A great singer and drummer, thank you for the reaction. Are your ladies ready for a new music adventure? This is a Finnish metal band (Symphonic Metal) with a Dutch singer Floor Jansen. Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Official Live) ua-cam.com/video/Jyjilhwbavo/v-deo.html
Superbowl did a segment few years back on how most lockerooms this plays before a football game, not sure familiar with American football but you're going into battle...plus everything in your past and what want out of your future if anything survival...this is heavy as hell for most men....at least us that been through some sh*t. Dmx used sample n chorus but yeah could care less about concert.... I've noticed big difference with men and women with this and how hits them....
You should all take a tour into Rush I think you will love what you hear. First time listening to your channel just subscribed also don't forget about Neil Peart drum solo from Rush it's done in Frankfurt Germany. Y'all keep rocking out!
God has put his seal of approval on this song only because Jesus is getting ready to meet us in the air at any moment and that is called the rapture!!! Are you rapture ready??? 🌈🕊️🆙🕊️🌈

So sexy to see and hear you talking English, and Italian eyes 😇 I'm 1/4 Italian myself, this version of "in the air, tonight" is in my personal opinion much better than the album version. Happy holidays and a happy 2023, PS is that peroni beer? 😋
well, nice video! I liked! but.. to be honest, I can´t belive that there are still some people who never seen this video/heard this song... can´t be, especially when you are a youtuber... but ok... nice reaction!
Paylaşım için teşekkürler 😊❤. Bu şarkıyı ve Phil Collins'i annenize yada babanıza sorsanız mutlaka hatırlayacaklardır. Ben büyük hayranıydım kendisinin özellikle 80'ler ve 90'larda.Face Value albümünden sanırım. 😊
Oh a bitter sweet moment in Phil's life. His divorce gave birth to the song of the ages. This song would be in all of his tours but not it's sister song I Don't Care Anymore. Two high powered gut wrenching songs from the soul. There's only a few live versions of I Don't Care Anymore (UA-cam) but worth the watch and you'll see what I'm talking about, this song in question (I D C A) was to gut wrenching for Phil to continue in live performances unlike it's sister song In The Air Tonight

I think he has played on more albums than any other bassist and he seems like a great guy.

Yep. Did it back then. Still do it now. Never stopping! 😁
I can vouch for this.
Oh yeah. Still dent dashboards pounding to the drum drop every time this comes on the radio.
And he did this with a crowd of 80,000, but they were very good behaver-ed for him but I don't think that I have ever heard the applause so loud, that they gave him at the end of his performance....

He knows how to put on a show. Just saw a new picture of him his health doesn't look good truly timeless song
There will never be another like Phil.
One of the great songs among many by a great soul... (PHIL)
You should not talk when Phil is performing@!!
Yes it was the opening of this song. To mainly build up the anticipation.
If you young ladies like live videos might I recommend, pretty much anything from Queen Rocks Montreal 1981, I saw them on that tour at Madison Square Garden in September 1980.
