But even we get into trouble if we go too far now. I’ve got an 18 year old son who’s never been offended by this or really anything, my friends kids are the same, in fact pretty much nobody I know really gets that offended over things so…. Where are these people that do? The world is pandering to a select few. They even see this clip as racist where it’s nowhere near lol

it’s a very British sense of humour. It’s never malicious or insulting. It’s just funny. This is pub humour, blacks whites Indian ,Chinese Jewish Italian Greek, We all take the piss out of each other. It is interesting seeing an American react to it. I think it’s more of a sensitive matter in the States. I get it. In Britain this is football terrace humour. It’s not racist at all.

Catherine Tate is a brilliant comedian and actress from England. She's great in Doctor Who and her own shows and specials. Lesson #1, you have to laugh at yourself and not take things so seriously. Making fun of stereotypes is the basis for a lot of humor is the basis for a lot of comedians such as Benny Hill, Mel Brooks, Don Rickles, Monty Python.

Comedy used to be equal opportunity insulting. No one was exempt from being made fun of. And to add a little context, this is from a show and Catherine’s character has a history of trying to fix every problem without the skills to do so. With hilarious results. So of course she said she could translate. She’s playing a character
It took many takes to get it right because the actors kept laughing.

That’s the point of the video it’s playing on peoples stereotypes that’s why they didn’t put the name tags on the African and Asian people. The problem is this isn’t meant to be a hateful attack on ethnic minorities. The Chinese lady was laughing so much while shooting this clip, it took twice as long to film. There is a difference between laughing at ourselves through comedy and being a hateful person that judges someone on their ethnicity, gender, sexuality or religion.

You had to find some fault, to fit yr indoctrinated mind. Up to you, entitled to yr opinion just as everyone else can take it as they find it. Most are just happy to see the funny side of life.

It's interesting how young people are more sensitive to etiquette than older people who watch this and laugh.

So who are the people that are “Offended” by this humour? As I don’t see any of them in the comments. Just people that have a sense of humour. NEVER lose your sense of humour folks.

It's interesting when she imitates European languages, it's funny when it goes to Chinese, and even more so when it comes to black person, it's already suspicious of racism. A two-faced society.

The British insult everyone! Watch more of her: Have you seen her skit with Daniel Craig(James Bond)? It's cringe funny.

You should check out "All in the Family". One of the most popular shows about a lovable racist. "The Jeffersons" was a spinoff from it.

You know people need deprogramming following a terrible brainwashing when the same joke is funny for some accents but not others. Wonderful litmus test and clear case for polluted thinking that it's offensive for some but hilarious for others. How we've regressed.

2006 THE CATHRINE TATE SHOW, VERY FUNNY COMEDY SHOW

I can see why watching a small clip like this you find offensive but it’s not. It’s part of a much bigger show and the key to good comedy is laughing at oneself. The Brit’s are the most self deprecating nation on this planet, they laugh at themselves which is why it works.
    People are so unnecessarily sensitive.
