I’ve watched Chip Foose on overhauling chop numerous sets of springs and never thought twice about it if it’s good for Foose, it’s good for Laska # you can’t fix stupid
Hey bro preciate all the content on this ride. I've got a 70 GTO that I'm gonna fix back up and and was wondering what the back spacing of rear wheels are plus what size tire you are running on the front. Preciate your help. Bad ass looking Buick also
About 8-10 videos back I posted a video about the wheels that goes over the fitment and all the specs. The rears are 15x10 and I think 5.5 backspacing if I remember right, with 275/60r15 tires. Fronts are 15x4 with 165/80r15 tires
Preciate it bro. That's probably exactly what I'm gonna put on my 70 GTO when I can get them ordered with the exception of maybe 17s on the front. Bad ass looking Buick bro!@SniderTron3000
Cutting springs (at least cold ’ish’ cutting) affects springs exactly ZERO 🙄 Torch is what hurts springs/affects spring tension. You retain the EXACT same spring rate just at a lower ride height👌🏼 I see that you 100% get this, just leaving this for the naysayers! FYI: For every 1/2” you cut off of an IFS coil spring you drop 1” overall (in general). I just measure overall height with the springs flat on the floor and then mark them at 1/2 of whatever drop I want and it works every time 💁🏻♂️
Someone will b!tch about anything. I’ve owned dozens of cars and a majority had the springs cut and all drove fine. Better than heat IMO. But I’m just an old man (that survived lol)
Only people who are uncircumcised wine about cutting springs!! Lol
Lol scared of the snip!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I myself cut springs and are uncircumcised 😂. Cutting springs is the only way to get exact height wanted imo
😂
The best comment I’ve seen on Usetube in years lol
A friend of mine has a weathered 71 Skylark that's grandpa green with a vinyl top. Showed him yours for some inspiration of something a bit meaner :D
Dude I love that car you'd be crazy to get rid of it
Hitting around the ball joint works many times but its far easier just to heat it up with a propane torch.
Usually cutting 1 full coil out is about 2" but those springs looked extremely long. It looks way bettter tho.
It works like that with my coilovers on my Chevelle. Make a 1/2 change on the nut makes a 1 inch change on height.
Looking good 👍👍
Down right speechless brother! I'll leave it at that keep up the killer content
Im loving this Skylark. Nice butt @ 17:04. Lmao
Did you cut springs on jack too? Is the back lowered any?
Yeah, Jack actually needs them cut a little more since going from the big block to the LS
As soon as mine is running, I would like to send you pics of it
That'd be awesome
Are you using the springs and lifters that come with the cam or stock springs and lifters?
Keep the car!
What size are them tires on the front looked like 165/80/17
What oil pan did you end up running for good in the DR Skylark? I’m wondering if I can run stock truck pan or do I need the 302-1

What are the wheels you put on the Skylark? they look awesome.
They're Vision Patriots

Nice car keep it don't sale it
Always a topic to think on you could sell it but these cars aren't exactly accessible much more..
Them skylark are like chevelles but with more style.

My drive way I hafta go with big wheels and a lift 😢
Which torque converter did you run behind the 4l80e?
It's a Circle D 3000-3200
Not rambling, like hearing about the old projects that you are still in contact with.
I dig a skylark. But I’m looking forward to a Fiero update, its kinda getting treated like a redheddedstepyungun
Nah, the Fiero is the next closest one to being done so that's what I think I'm gonna focus on
@@SniderTron3000 good work tho
I ❤ skylark! 71 or 72?
72
