I highly doubt the U.S. would EVER poison another nation’s water supply. It’s the governments that would be against each other, not the people (even though the militaries are people, and would be fair game). Poisoning a nation’s water supply would be disastrous for their people, men, women, children, and babies. I can’t see us even thinking of that kind of vile behavior.

Our vast military was not only built to protect OUR rights, but to help protect those rights of others when they have been violated, and are unable to fight back by themselves. The US is not self-sufficient with oil, but it can be if it wants to.
The main reason it is not self-sufficient with oil production right now is because it is so cheap to buy it from other nations.
Same for natural gas. Huge amounts available but it is cost effective to import a lot of it rather than producing it all domestically.
If oil and natural gas from other countries ever became too expensive or unavailable, the US could start increasing domestic production and would be capable of exceeding its own needs, and do so for centuries without concern of running out.
America being able to buy things cheaper than if it were to produce itself applies to many resources. The US has a lot of resources that go unused because it simply doesn't need to use them when cheaper sources are available from other nations.

    • @DeusSalis
      @DeusSalis 20 днів тому

@@DeusSalis That is a long conversation, and I agree with government affecting things that lead to higher prices, but there is more happening than just that. Believing the government is the sole reason is an incorrect belief.
Location, depth, extraction methods, land vs offshore, etc. They all affect the oil. America has a lot but not all sources are as easy to extract as others. Shale oil, for instance, is considerably more expensive to extract than just drilling a shallow well and hitting a pool of oil.

The US has the most refinery capacity in the world (Russia has been closing the gap recently). The US can refine more than twice the quantity of crude that it produces, and output twice the amount of finished product it uses. If the US did not import crude in order to feed its refineries, the world supply of oil-derived products would quickly run short.

The largest problem the world would have against the US would be leadership. Who would lead the combined military forces and decide the strategy to best use. Can you imagine a world where an Israeli general could command the air forces of the surrounding Arab nations in the defense of the oil fields 😂😂. Or a British Prime Minister having final say over where the Chinese & Russian fleet would need to sail. No, lack of agreed upon leadership would be the downfall of a world wide alliance. While they are arguing and hashing over old feuds and lack of trust the US would be bringing the heat in decisive fashion.

During the pandemic we couldn’t produce cars we couldn’t produce dishwashers and TVs and refrigerators. It was crazy so we put the production back in the United States. We allow our drugs and many other items to produce in other countries, cause we help their economies if we shut off all imports and produced within the United States, our economy with triple and we would destroy economies if the United States stop doing business with China they would barely be able to survive.

Cartel - an association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition.
OPEC does qualify as a oil cartel, as when they vote to reduce oil production it artificially drives up energy prices across Europe, and the United States.
When President Trump was U.S. President, the United States was producing more oil than it needed, and became a net exporter of oil.
This caused OPEC to cut oil production by 10,000,000 million barrels per day in order to prevent oil prices from dropping too much.

Many overlooked issues with a North American invasion: it's estimated that America could field 20 million citizen militia fully armed and ready to fight with military grade equipment, moreover those citizens would be led buy veterans from the last 50 years of combat globally America also has a massive mothball naval fleet armor Depots of obsolete equipment and civilian aircraft that could be converted to combat. People look at America as 50 states the way to really look at us is 50 small countries the rest of the world may win a war outside of North America but we would never surrender and they could never come here. Ps America has the largest untapped crude oil capability on Earth, the largest natural gas stores on Earth,, and enough coal to last hundreds of years, the reason we don't use it is because it is in protected areas, land that we don't wish to disturb.

The USA could be self sufficient during wartime. We do buy and sell oil but that is because not all oil is the same. Plus it is good to keep a supply chain open. Depending on when you do your study the USA is the largest producer of oil in the world. We also have large amounts of farmland that could sustain the population.
You cannot compare a wartime economy with a peacetime economy. The country would change greatly in a total warfare environment. If you think the USA military is violent and aggressive now, just wait until we are fighting for our lives.

Well that was a crazy hypothetical… Tho I think the reality of cyber and the state of some of our infrastructure, along with planted propaganda and misinformation causing probably the biggest divide among our people that I’ve ever seen or experienced in my ahem50… years, is where our weaknesses are. Destruction would come from within, and that’s what scares me the most. Supposedly Russia has been testing its hacking capabilities on various nuclear power plants around the country. They haven’t done anything major yet, but simply looking for openings and weak points. One thing I’m not sure if I heard mentioned in this video is how the private sector would be utilized. Microsoft and Apple are constantly working to keep ahead of cyber security, not to mention so many others. We also found out recently how much we truly rely on the global supply chain. Transistors and computer chips were a big problem, Apple and Microsoft and probably others have started work on factories for building those here. Obviously it’s cheaper to build them in China and Taiwan, but it really didn’t take much to throw everything off, so many products need them, so many things, important to frivolous, were not available. Car companies suffered a lot because of that… it was a crazy past few years.

American politicians have decided, due to "global warming," not to tap our own energy reserves to the fullest extent. Many refineries operate at well below peak efficiency. Oil is bought instead of produced. America could be a net exporter of oil if it chose because the huge natural gas production sustains commercial energy needs. As well as many nuclear facilities. With a war footing, refining and drilling domestically would drastically increase by 75% (As a conservative estimate). Oil and gas for the govermment/military would be easy to maintain without the need for foreign oil. In tandem with ramping up the war machine the would complete the pipeline between Alaska and Texas. This would ensure basically unlimited oil and gas for the war effort. The main reason we would put a strangle hold on the Middle East and its oul would be to deny our adversaries the fuel needed to sustain a war. The only thing the American people would notice would be higher prices for goods because we would have no imported products during a war like this. But for the most part, it would be business as usual for us.
Note: Any troop transports or other naval ships would have to make it to the coast to unload troops. In the open ocean between Hawaii and any other landmass, a single ICBM with specific warheads would delete any of those before they were within 1,000 miles of our coasts.

so america can sustain itself off its own oil and reserves for a while honestly. we only usually buy oil from canada, and then a tiny percentage from maybe mexico or something. we dont usually get much oil that we buy from the middle east, we dont need middle eastern oil is what im trying to say, but if we are there we might as well take some to supply the military probably.

They wouldnt. If you watch the video its clear that the US would just have to starve those countries of oil and mineral imports. Their economies would crash and their militaries would loose much of its capabilities.
Because of nuclear powered submarines and ballistic missiles it would be very hard to stop such a blockade.
Invading china or india is not wise when so big populations get economicaly starved so easily.
Also consider that the US outspends the next 10 countries combined with only 3% of its gdp. Imagine if they went up to 40%.
Next thing i want to mention is, they lost in vietnam because they had political restrictions.
If the US could do like in medival times and just exterminate all sources of resistance, it would have been a walk over

the military nation breakdown has less to do with total amount as with what can be fielded, produced and replaced from internal industry as a world war of such scale would seriously hamper trade and arms trade in particular. any arms purchased from the states would be it, no replacements, no replacement parts after stocks run out in the respective nations. those supplied from china, russia, india, etc would have their shipments disrupted at the very least. war costs a lot in everything. if you lose the ability to replace losses in any reasonable time frame you lose.
oh, and the only kill switch the would be installed on export military equipment like fighters would be a cut out (if it was even installed at all) for US military frequencies and datalinks, potentially a cut out for nato data links. the reason why any other type is unlikey in the extreme is the potential for it to be discovered and used by non US state actors. kill switches like that even in export goods is a REALLY bad idea for so many reasons.
