Hey thanks JR! I got my 6.0 put together and been watching the goat roper but your initial set up helped me out a ton. She idles and will get me to the point I can start working on a driving tune soon as I get it dropped in. Much more to learn but well on my way. Thanks again
Hey JR, thank you for this information, I had the same problem a couple weeks back and the same cam, so I dont know if you was talking about me or not. I searched youtube for a video like this with no luck. You always seem to be able to explain things about tuning that i can understand and make sense out of where I cant from a professional tuner. So I want to thank you again for teaching me once again a valuable lesson. I used tuner pro and was able to get the idle in pretty good but with no way to log or a wideband I ended up taking it to a dyno tuner to get it dialed in. Thank you again for everything you do! Carl
I know this is an old video but I just put my 5.3 in my project with a stage 4 truck cam from Texas speed and this video really helped me better understand tuning big time and I appreciate it because most videos I found will show you how to do something but not fully explain so you can kind of learn and do it yourself which you did great.
Thanks, man. I'm watching your vids and several others trying to gather as much info as I can BEFORE I start my swap. I'm going to be dropping an LS into a Miata. But, I'm going to make most of the kit myself. I'll buy a K-member but, pretty much everything else I'm going to make. And, yes.... I'm going to put in an iron block and "ruin" the handling. Cause I ain't rich and I can't afford some fancy-dancy al-you-min-ium LS. Gonna be junkyard special. And it's gonna rip. Party on, brother!
Good information JR, I have a 02 5.3 with an LS6 intake and cam swap. I was looking for information on tuning both. Wondering if you could lead me in the right direction. Look for a street tune not racing. If my inquiry is inappropriate, please accept my apology.
So after the changes you make in the airflow, load up the tune in the computer, then run it and watch the fuel trims and O2 sensors to see what to do next, right?
Hey JR, what changes do I need to make to my afm cal table as the ve table changes only seem to affect the afr when I nail it? When I’m cruising it doesn’t change the afr. Pcm is 2003 year, gen 3 5.7.
I watch your vids an try to learn but confused on some stuff I have a stage 2 an I got it running but when I hit throttle it’s poping .got a wide band an it’s going from 14. Something to 20 up an down .any help will be much appreciated
When using the sloppy stg2 does it require a stall I just purchased a 05 GXP 5.3 with DOD issues and I'm to do a complete delete on the engine including capping off the oil towers

Just what I needed to get started 👍🏼
Thanks for the info. Your my number one source I've been studying from before I jump into this and try it.

Hoping in the future to eventually know what you were even saying...ikinda know what you are saying... And it makes sence
Thanks, I'm about to get into this, I have a better idea about the tune, as always great info!
Ima try this havent been able to make my truck start without pedaling it
Cool video. .. do you have a video on switching to speed density ?
No, sorry

bring reality to those who wish to learn.

I have a gen 3 same cam can u help me with getting it to idle

@@TheDrivewayEngineer will everything in mine be the same
When you adjusted to fuel for Daryl, did you mess with the timing any?
Joshua Darnell I haven't done any timing tuning on Daryl yet.
I still have fuel to dial.

You are way way too lean.
You need to add fuel in the VE table in the area you're seeing numbers over 14
The Driveway Engineer thanks I’ll give it a try in the morning hopefully I can get it.
The Driveway Engineer I have another? When adding fuel to the ve do I add it before an write to vehicle or it’s a way to add it why running?
You have to write each change
The Driveway Engineer thanks I’ll give it a try
When using the sloppy stg2 does it require a stall I just purchased a 05 GXP 5.3 with DOD issues and I'm to do a complete delete on the engine including capping off the oil towers
It doesn't require one in the sense that it'll run without it, it'll just have no low end
My primary ve is way lower than that what do i need to be sitting at im also running a sloppy stage 2 cam
No one on the internet has any way of knowing what your VE should be.
This is where tuning comes in.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer how many times can u write a change to your ecm do it require alot of credits to do
My cam is surging
They do that, could be anything from fueling to timing.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer well damn that sucks i should of stayed stock lol
It's just part of tuning, tune it out, you're going to have to learn to or pay someone
@@TheDrivewayEngineer well I started with a plug in play. Then I had it professionally done
@@PawlDunken make the person you paid fix it then, it's not tuned right if it's surging
