Good find on that old dam! I'm not sure how to contact you directly, but this was a water powered cheese factory/cow farm in the village of storrsville, which was a part of the now defunct town of Dana.
It was fed by Rand Brook, but was washed out in the flood of 1938, and the state tore it down in the building of Boston's water supply, by way of imminent domain.
Downstream, there where multiple factories, Grist Mills, and other water powered businesses.
Such a shame the state took them out, when didn't even use this land for anything!
Did you happen to see any remnants of wood scraps in the area from the water power equipment?

I live in California, and this time of the year everything is dry, brown, and ready to burn. It is so nice to see a place that is green this time of year. Looking forward to the winter rain, and the memories of clearing drains with my Dad who ran the county road department. He kept things in much better shape than they do now.

Dunno if I mentioned this in a previous comment on a vid of yours but greetings from the UK.
We have a fair share of abandoned dams here too with cool history.
Not a billion miles away from where I live, is the Elan (pronounced Ellen) Valley chain of reservoirs, gigantic picturesque Victorian masonry dams holding back a combined capacity of 21 billion gallons that supply water to the city of Birmingham in the Midlands of England.
In an adjacent creek feeding into one of the reservoirs is a small dam called Nant-y-Gro, like a dam built for the community of workers who built the larger dams. It was purposely bombed in testing the Dambuster bombs during WW2 and the remains can still be seen to this day.

I want so badly to come over there and ride through your canals. I understand that many have been redone, repaired for leisure house boats. I live near one of our major rivers , The Arkansas, in NW Arkansas. But we have few canals.

Thanks for another interesting adventure, Post 10.
That blue-grey water always makes me think of sewage tainted water. There was a stream that I used to wade in that always had that appearance, with brownish foam everywhere. I learned later that that stream was one of the most polluted waterways in the suburban Atlanta area, being used as an open sewer. I cringe when I think that I probably dunked my head under the water at times.
