    I’ve had this reel for little over a year now but it’s a size 8000 with 80lb braid and it’s hooked into massive fish and we’ve landed a 6ft shark with this reel and still works great

      Justfishing---- Thanks for your comment. It is certainly well made with good materials and I'd have no problem to recommend them as a good value. Keep watching.

    Hi there, do you think this rod and reel combo would do well in freshwater as well, like for big trout and salmon??

    • @new2ufishing
      @new2ufishing  2 роки тому +4

      Oh yes , this combo can certainly handle big coho or King or Lakers or Steelhead. Usually the only difference between the fresh and saltwater gear is the saltwater uses more corrosion resistant materials so the salt won’t eat them up. It won’t cause a problem to use them in freshwater. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@new2ufishing Thanks for the clarification! I’ve seen a few of these Offshore Angler brand fishing rod & reel combos at Cabela’s and thought they should work for our freshwater fish too, but wasn’t 💯.

      @@jk22222sd where i am located, we had a bluecatfish invasive species takeover and i found this video because i want more info on the tl7000 i got at bass pro shops yearsssss ago. i guess the tlb7000 is the next gen of the same reel. but mine became my new bluecat slayer reel, the rod sucked and snapped :(

      @@PLAYERSLAYER_22I have the 6000 series angler one. I wanna use mine for salmon and king salmon. Had it for a year now but still never caught a fish on it yet 😂. I'm hoping mine don't break on a salmon.

      @@anamositykilla2190 it wont break on a fish but the original was a very stiff rolled carbon sheet with a very heavy spine. it was great for setting hooks on big fish. i dont like carbon because it is fragile and someone closed a tailgate on mine and the tip snapped so game over. luckily the reel was well built and ive caught many many large fish on it.
      if i were going for trout, id grab the new intercoastal uglystik rods and a penn persuit 3 or 4

      This reel is actually very well-made with high-quality components. It was probably made by one of the big names and it is just branded for bass pro under the offshore angler branding. I have learned there is actually a way to get repair parts in the future on these, so I will probably look for more of them.

      The parts for Tightline reels are available through the bass pro shops website. It’s not easy to find on the site, but if you call the 800 number they will help you. Thanks for watching and commenting.
