You should do the '96 dos version. It plays faster than the PSX & Saturn (both also '96). But there is a lack of tools for dos. The other 2 could be done. I recently played & recorded the dos game in under 21 minutes (took 3 days). It was a video recording (not input which i can't seem to find yet). So I played in real time, saved game states, and spliced 17 videos together (edited out the pauses). Also i used cheat codes to skip each round after all enemies are popped. I also avoided all helper items except rapid fire so people will be able to see how to clear each round except the ones skipped by the caves. Caves only appear when you don't lose lives (unless you use another cheat code). That's the point of a perfect game so I use em (skips 23 rounds, also you don't lose rapid fire if you don't lose a life). I think I'm the only one in the world that has done this version. I could get the time way down if I could make an input movie file, play in slow motion, use 2 players, and use helper items. The letters are extremely hard to avoid! This is what makes it so challenging. If you could use these and the other cheater/helper items that clear the rounds, whoever gets the most of those would get the world record. My semi tool assisted speedrun (00:19:50) beat my best full game time (00:24:50 2-1-23, took 3 long breaks) by 00:04:04. It is extremely difficult to play a full perfect game even with many long breaks (pause dosbox which also pauses the recording). I did not take a break on my first 2 good games/recordings (00:26.59 12-28-20 & 00:25:54 10-13-22). That would be cool if they had a competition with this game.
