Can we mosaic a plastic pot, since terra-cotta ones are hard to find? Will mosaic tiles fall off plastic later on?

Where do you find the little pieces

The simplest way is to use broken ceramic cups and plates. If you need the small mosaic square pieces you can buy miniature tiles and glass gems specifically for decorating (google mosaic pieces).
