I have recently had a garden design drafted for my small garden & I have decided I would like a mosaic feature. On researching You Tube I came across your video on materials, which I’ve just watched. I found the video very informative , helpful & inspiring. I’m now going to search for one of your tutorials so that I can practice before making a mosaic for my garden. Thank you Helen for a wonderful video & for opening my eyes to a new, wonderful,creative & artistic hobby.

The Craft Kit website in the Netherlands has the Mexican Perdomo smalti, and the British website the Mosaic Workshop now has marble with a rough riven cut in 2x2x1 cm or 1x1x1 cm, and hobby island have the smooth cut 1o mm and 20 mm marble in 5 or 7 mm depth.
Have a problem with my mosaic design peeling off the cement pedestal after left outdoors in rain, freezing winters after 6 years! I’m ready to redo but seeking advice as to products of thin set, grout, and sealer to weatherproof?! Thank you
Hello Maureen. I am sorry for my late reply and also sorry about your cement pedestal! The products to use depend on which part of the world you live in but as long as you make sure you use an outdoor grade tile adhesive and grout you should be fine. I dont seal my outdoor mosaics unless the tesserae are porous. If you are in the US, Laticrete 254 Platinum is a highly recommended thinset.

No, I've never tried that because I can never bear to tear myself away from mosaics long enough to make them!

Sometimes, yes! Definitely one to add to the list of mosaic materials.
