    My Grandaughter asked if possible could I try to make her some crochet shorts. So I went through and found your pattern. Thank you, it was easy to follow and understand and we are both so happy with how they have turned out. She looks so cute in them and is festival ready. Now for the second pair in gold sequins wool.

    I'm a beginner crocheter, and I can't wait to try these out, but after my exams cos my parents are getting annoyed at how obsessed I am with knitting and crocheting rather than revising😅

      Hey, it is a great way to de-stress. Keep crocheting between bouts of study. One of the worst things about constant study is the lack of opportunity to empty your mind for a little while to give it a rest

      Whilst all of the above comments are true, your parents shouldn't be so quick to diss crochet! Look at Kaffe Fassett and his knitting designs, he learnt on a long train journey from Scotland and now travels the world designing and making quilts and writing books about them and his inspiration....you might be the next soft craft designer, so I hope you get your studies done and have some time for crochet too 🤞🏼good luck!

    Definitely the most informative and well explained shorts tutorial I have watched
    I did your tutorial but made it for a 2 year old and then added my own bits ( made the legs a little longer and put popcorn stitch on the hem of the legs)
    Love this so many ways of pimping these shorts up
    Thank you

    I love that you explain about the stretch of the ysrn you are using and how that can affect the sizing. I think I'll make these in comfy cotton because it is a 3 weight but leans towards a 4 and the pound of love is a 4 leaning towards a 3!! These shorts are so cute and i think my daughter will love them!! Thank you for this video, i love how you explain things!!

    Best shorts tutorial out there!! I made these in a day to go with a bralette I made yesterday!! The only thing I did different was after finishing the bottom of the shorts I added a couple decrease rounds at the waist to make it fit more snug since I used acrylic yarn. 😍

    Idk if I’ve already commented back when I first found this vid (and made 3 pairs!), but I came back a couple days ago to make more and wanted to thank you again for this! It’s one of the easiest and quickest patterns I’ve come across for shorts!
    I’m currently making these in Bernat Velvet and they are so perfect & cozy! I’m making a set for sleepwear/lingerie, so I’ve cut the pattern in half to make them more ‘boy shorts’ style.
    LOVE IT!!!
    Thanks ❤️❤️

Your instructions are absolutely clear, everything works and is a great pleasure to work. would 100% acrylic yarn be good to use

    • @TheCraftNut
      @TheCraftNut  3 роки тому +2

      I’m glad that you think so! Acrylic yarn would be fine, it just is sometimes very stretchy and that can be good and bad! I would just suggest making a braided or twisted yarn string to go along with it for a belt maybe to keep them up if they end up loose fitting throughout the day! I suggest that for all yarn made bottoms!

I personally would add a few extra stitches in the crotch area, maybe start on the third St from the middle and add two sts in each st until the middle like you would for women shorts and do the same thing on both sides of the middle how ever many sts you decided to add extra sts in

    Not sure if anyone else has asked this before, but could you do this with different size stitches? Like using Half Double Crochet (HDC) or even Single Crochet (SC) for the main body so have a bit of a different look. I do know this will make the shorts (I'm planning on adapting this for a pair of pants) a little bit stiffer because of the smaller stitches, just like they'd probably be lighter and more flowery if you were to use larger stitches to make something to use like a bathing suit cover or something like that.

    • @TheCraftNut
      @TheCraftNut  5 років тому +1

      you can make these any size you would like using this technique. you will just want to follow the instructions in the video making the beginning chain the length that will go around the waist. and continue on following the pattern from there. the same hook size should be used no matter what size you are doing and like i said in the video, you only need to switch hook sizes if your yarn is not stretchy enough while in the chain such as the lion brand pound of love. I hope that helps!

    • @TheCraftNut
      @TheCraftNut  4 роки тому +3

      I do explain this is the video, but I used a larger hook for the beginning chain so it was stretchier but is still the amount of stitches that you need, after the initial chain you will want to go back down to the smaller hook so the shorts continue to fit the way they need to. Hopefully that made sense! 😊☮️💙🎶

      Once you get to the widest point of your hips you will want to work 1 st in each st all the way around until you have the length you need before connecting them in the bottom. You can even decrease if that’s what needs to be done too. I hope that helps and make sense! 😊☮️💙🎶

    If I'm making this for someone with a thicc booty and thighs can I just add more stitches at the seams to increase the size more?
    You do 2 doubles into the 2 center stitches, could I add 2 doubles in the 4 center stitches on both sides?
    She has dancer thighs, so I'm just concerned it won't increase enough to accommodate and be comfortable.

    • @TheCraftNut
      @TheCraftNut  3 роки тому +1

      Yes absolutely! You can do two on either side like you said and even in the next two stitches as well if needed. You could also increase in the middle and increase on what would be the outside of the thigh so you would be increasing in all four corners! Up to you and how much you need to increase ☺️☮️💙🎶
