    Hi Bumbi 👋 Hope you've been having a nice day. I decided to make this fish recipe because I thought it would be perfect for Good Friday. (recipe147) It was absolutely delicious. We had it with your white dip that you suggested and some salad. The dip is superb. I could honestly eat it with everything. It goes so perfectly with the fish and some salad. The batter is simply amazing and the fish has so much delicious flavour. I will be making this again very soon. We really loved it. Thank you so much my dear friend.     These sound quite good, and I am not a "fish person". I do like scallops, clams, and crabs. I think I just need a good recipe for fish, and this just might be it!

    Scrumptious and deliciously yummy.its great for a cocktail party.goes well with chilled beer or some white wine.and watch the sunset at the beach in Alleppey Kerala.

      @@CurriesWithBumbi My wife’s Anglo Indian and I’ve become the cook due to early retirement 😁. So I’m trying different Indian recipes and your fish dish is a little bit different to a dish her dad made . The Chaat Masala added a nice tang to the fish 👍🇦🇺

      It is usually served as an appetizer or snacks. You can also make it as a side, serving it with rice and a vegetable curry. Thanks for watching

    Hi Bumbi, looks great. I'm often a bit frightened of deep frying (not that you've got much oil there). Do you think these could be cooked in an air fryer?

    I like seeing a different type of food being prepared here! Talapia is good but very hard to get fresh in this part of world. Although I have done this with halibuts

    HI Bumbi. I tried with prawns but the batter dropped off when frying! Where did I go wrong? I’m guessing the mixture might have been too wet?

      Yes the mixture was perhaps too watery. Always dip a spoon in the batter and it should coat the back of your spoon and if you run your finger through the batter should remain to the other sides. If not then add more of flour to the batter. At the same time do not flip too soon after putting in oil. Give it some time on low heat to set on one side and then flip

    What kind of oil do you fry with doing this fish??

      You can use sunflower / canola/ peanut/ avocado/grape seed oil

      You can use olive oil, but not extra virgin

    I always loved fried fish and garlic, and that looks delicious. I definitely want that (my choice of fish would be catfish) with a side of burro banana chips (yes, that's a type of cooking banana which can be eaten raw. But its best to cut them up into fries and fry them up which tastes like potato chips). 🐟 🍟

    Hi. What do you mean by serving spoon? Can u give a rough amount of besan & riceflour in tsp/tbsp as that would be more useful than "serving spoon".....
