The Most Prolific Goal Scorer of All Time?

- Опубліковано 20 жов 2024
- In Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, we have been blessed with two incredible goal scorers in the modern era, but in this video HITC Sevens reflects on the career of a man who was more than twice as prolific as the multi-Ballon d'Or winners.
Peyroteo is still a legend among Sporting fans.
i guess it's pretty off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
Yes it is my principal photo of my phone is Fernando Peyroteo
Big Dave from my Sunday league team has scored 120 goals in 30 games, he had trials at Arsenal as a kid but broke his leg

Can't wait for that Malta team
@@johndroos9486 all time, but it is his choice
Hi Hunor, I've seen this one a couple of times and my only issue with it is that there are 40+ countries in Europe, but only teams from 10 countries have won the UC/CL, so for the most part it would just be the best team from every European country.
Maybe the best team that's never won it from Europe's top 7 leagues would work.
Man, I can’t get enough of your videos. I’ve been a fan for around a year and your videos keep on getting better and better. Keep it up 👍
Best 7 players from obscure nations, maybe outside of top 50 FIFA rankings?

Arthur Friedenreich. 1329 in 1229. Not the highest rate of return, but the bet sustained rate of return, for sure. Standard maybe a bit iffy, but that was the way they played footie in Brazil back then.
This video invites the question, why was it so much easier to score back in the day?
No offside rule for one
The sport was new and there weren't that many good players at that time
@@Doherty971 The offside rule was even more strikt than today, so this made it even harder to score many goals ^^
Everyone wanted to be a striker. The game was more offenceive oriented.

0:52. Prolific goalscorers they may be but neither of them are wearing a shirt that fits them properly.
looool
No. I'm fat but I have my shirts tailored so they fit. I also dont wear my shirts on my ass, so it's fatness had very little bearing as to whether or not my shirts fit. I believe this renders you, as the young folks say these days, rekt.
They don't wear their shirts in the American style, that's all

This was fantastic. I appreciate that you include a lot of non euro centric content.
Interesting video mate, loads of research gone into it, respect that. Would love to see some in depth Scottish football based vids, keep it up regardless!
Sporting Lisbon & Portuguese legend, Fernando Peyroteo has the highest goal ratio in history at 1.58. 559 goals in 354 matches.
É o Mário de castro com 1,95
Sporting CP*
additional note for viewers. for players with 500+ goals total after the 50s, the only two reaching a ratio greater than 1 per game for a club are eusebio and c.ronaldo
Erwin Helmchen scored 987 goals in 578 matches. Ratio 1.71.141 hat tricks.
Castro's ratio was amazing, but Peyroteo was by far the most profilic striker with more than 500 hundred goals. He managed to score 544 goals in 334 games.
You also have to factor he retired at 26 image him playing till at least 30
Still, it's pretty easier to get a goal ratio that good with less games. I would even say that Bican's ratio was even more impressive than Peytoteo's since he played more than 800 games
@@pedrogilperdigao ok
Where are those numbers from? He scored 332 times in 197 games. We are not counting friendlies mate.
@@user-tv8cu6uk5u no, multiple sources in Portugal claim those numbers. And those are only the oficial games
Great video! I'm starting toclove this channel. It's finally evolving into something special that truly cares about the history of football instead of from 1990 onwards.
I know this dude gets alot of stick but that opening line made me laugh a ridiculous amount

I really like your videos, great ideas for a videos and you structure your arguments well.
But I think you should work on your enunciation, especially when it’s at the end of a sentence. Your voice tend to tail off and it’s very difficult to make out what you’re saying.
Maybe having some key words or stats in the video could help.
A video on your own views regarding the most technically and naturally talented players of all time.
He has already done this type of video and according to him it is messi
The 7 best teams that have never won a league title. I’m thinking of the likes of Bayer Leverkusen who has been a Champions League runner up but have never won the Bundesliga.
Arsenal. Especially in the “invincible” season. In that one season I believe they were one of the greatest club sides of all time. They moved the ball with a combination of devastating speed, and accuracy, resulting in a seemingly effortless end to end fluidity that opposing teams struggled to contain. It was a joy to watch, and even though it would ultimately lead to a defeat (Aston Villa fan) you couldn’t deny, or deprive them of their much deserved accolades of greatness.
well well well, that aged quite well
With the death of Kobe Bryant, who was a huge Barca and AC Milan fan, 7 non football athletes who are football fans. Usain Bolt, Steve Nash, etc.
Fuck kobe
During his time Portugal and turkey Jardel was amazing and an absolute scoringmachine. Look up his stats and marvel.
"If you're anything like me, well firstly you have my deepest sympathy..." - underrated quote.
The most ludicrous thing about Messi isn't that he's one of the all time greatest goalscorers, it's that he also breaches the top 10 most creative players too. He's a one off
Most prolific scorer? Irish Guy on a Friday night.
where do you get your stats? there is a website called messivsronaldo.net- do you think it's accurate? They have the same ratio you mentioned for Ronaldo, but for Messi they have .82 (692 goals in 849 appearances)
.
You missed my mate Steve...

For real? Ever heard of Gerd Müller? Former player of the 1. FC Bayern Munich and German national player
Here are just a few of his many records...
- Gerd Müller scored 68 goals in 62 international matches for Germany (1,097 goals per game)
- In the calendar year 1972 Müller scored 85 goals in 60 competitive games (1.42 goals per game). This record was only surpassed in 2012. Lionel Messi scored 91 goals in 69 competitive games (1.32 goals per game)
- In total, Gerd Müller scored 1455 documented goals in 1204 games (1.21 goals per game) in compulsory and friendly matches.
I didn't count friendly matches for any of the other players so I'm not sure why you'd expect me to for Muller. He scored 720 goals in 769 officially recognised competitive fixtures for club and country. An incredible record, but not better or equal to 1:1, hence why he wasn't in the video.
Big fan of that. Cheers, Alfie!
So if i play 1 premier league game and score a hattrick then immediately retire, i can top this list?
100 games or more?
XxRedManiakxX it doesn’t even have to be prem 😂😂

7 best league finishes with a minus goal difference
My beloved Arsenal springs to mind
Dean (Everton), Mário Jardel
People say they played in bad leagues, but still not in England. Was the best and hardest league back then as well
The game was more of an open game back in the day, not as defensive as todays game, then they started to use a back four (4-2-4, 4-4-2, 4-3-3 etc,) and coach goalkeepers to a better standard, defenders began to play football rather than just boot the ball upfield.
i was here to check out the graphic but it never popped in the video, or did i missed it?
7 Best Streakers of all time
You need to take a look at the career of Puskas. He was once asked how many goals he scored and answered that he stopped counting years ago when he hit 1000.
Goals were easier in the pre-modern area because most coaches and clubs did not get into tactics like they do now.
That's a lie bro

U snuck another documentary video on damn that was sneaky
Or was it just me who thaught this was a list?
As the strengths of national football leagues are hard to compare it might be more interesting to compare goals scored at international level.
Erwin Helmchen the highest goal scorer ever
i value players who score when it matters. in a world cup semi or ucl final. many players score against wigan huddlesfield etc , whom i respect but don't really matter in the scheme of things
I'm not surprised. Old school football was a kinda easier compared to today's game.
What's funny is that old timers like to pretend like the game hasn't changed and as if it was of better quality back in the day lol
Its the other way around the quality of football was much better back in the day ronaldo and messi wouldn't have a balon dor between them if they played anytime before 2006
nope you're wrong
Messi would win more ballon d'ors as back then the best Player won it not the best Player of the team that won the UCL
but I can't help someone who is ignorant enough to not see it
Can you make a video on the greatest play makers in history?

Is this all games combined? Clubs and international?
Arthur Freidenreich of Brazil he scored around 1100 goals in around 1000 games.
back then they were playing a much more attacking football. 4-2-4 was a norm and had much more attacking formations than that
2-3-5 was the norm!
Do a GK edition of this with saves/games

@@barmanitan fair enough, but it would be interesting to see
Goals per minutes played rather than games might alter things a little. Probably impossible to get the old-timey info.
these players are very different positions and face different times and leagues so it's comparing oranges and apples. Messi is a 10 like Pele, they were spending time playing behind the striker (9) passing the ball like a midfield or making advances from behind to strike like a number 9. CR7 is a wing most of the time so completely different amount of opportunities. If he would have been a striker like Romario imaging the many more chances that he could have had (the same counts for Pele and Messi if they would have been number 9 position. Then considering defending styles by epoch and fitness plus influence from teams and trainers. For example, Messi played in Barcelona (with Pep Guardiola) which is probably the best football machine of all time, one made of a group of player capable of winning the Champions and the Spanish league or the World Cup as well as they did, without Messi. But Messi couldn't win the WC without them. Not many in the list can say they had a chance to play in a machine of making goals as Barca. Pele played in a different time, mostly in Brasil, not any of the European leagues but he succeeded so much in WC that probably is a prove of what he could have done in Barca or Real Madrid, and confirms the value of his goals in Brasil. Any way, those rankings are not necessarily very meaning full.
Fascinating
Great video.
Jimmy McGrory of Glasgow Celtic - 534 games, 538 goals!
indeed...and with real competition and with defenders who would try to break your legs! Long Live McGrory!
Remember Shearer man guy was banging 2 or 3 nearly every game at one point imagine he had a team like messi has along side him be insane
Every Premier League, Football League and National League clubs' biggest FA Cup upset in their club history.
Castro: "oh I'm deadly 👟⚽️".
Heskey: "Hold my 🍻".
This might be a lot of effort to research, but maybe a video about the all time best San Marino XI. They are the lowest ranked FIFA affiliated nation in the world and as such most of their players aren’t even professional, with some of them working in factories or as taxi drivers. I just think it might be interesting to see if the quality of their national team was any better a long time ago.
Romario still the best hitman I've ever seen. U.S.A.1994 Romario, Bebetto and Mario Santos destroyed everyone who tried challenging them. Oh, and let's not forget Dunga!
Question mark for number 1 on thumbnail but name left at bottom🤦♂️
The genius that is JIMMY GREAVES, the legend could score all types of goals.😊
Ancient easy football
Thank you Alfie
7 players who are leeching off of their club. List should include Rakitic, O. Dembele, Bale and Sanchez.
The problem with saying someone has a 1 to 1 ratio but they have only played 200 games compared to someone like Ronaldo and messi
Football has been more competitve now than ever
back then we had bad pitches, heavy balls, heavy boots and defenders who would try and break your legs. This makes those achievements even more amazing. Messi, Ronaldo etc wouldnt have lasted five minutes back then with their antics and diving. Players like Jimmy Johnstone, George Best, Denis Law, Billy McNeill, Jimmy Greaves, Alfredo De Stefano, Franz Beckenbauer, Puskas, Pele etc were way better than todays cry babies.
Why is human Shrek on the thumbnail

The most prolific goalscorer would be anyone with two shots and two goals in one match in a top tier league.

Friedenreich is such a German name haha... Can't get much more than german than that XD (not that it's a bad thing, it's a strong name and has a nice meaning).
Sadly, I didn't even know about Arthur Friedenreich... Weird and really sad that he's not being mentioned in the mainstream media whenever they talk about historic greats. Because of Friedenreich I've just read about the germanbrazilian footballer Hermann Friese too and that German immigrants to Brazil have had a big influence on establishing football as a popular sport in Brazil.
So just to check. I'm greater than all these players. I played three times for my school team and scored seven goals. That surely makes me the most prolific striker in history, yes?
There's no way you are serious right? Right?
It shouldnt be goals/games. Playing as a substitute for 5 mins counts as a game. You should measure it with how many minutes does the player need to score a goal.
If i dont see the pyroteo here will be very pissed
The answer is Peter Crouch.
Thanks for the great posting. Only one question - what about a couple of great players you did not mention? Ferenc Puscas of Hungary, 604 goals in 619 club & international games, and Pele 727 goals in 786 games.
Finally someone mentions Peyroteo. He's one of the greatest players of all time, but sadly he wasn't English, so no one cares.
I love videos like this
How is Messi placed above Ronaldo when the talk is about Prolific Goal Scorer. A player's goals tally is the factor that decides the outcome here.
what about Jimmy Greaves ?
