As a Brazilian, I can say that one of the most debated issues within the country is the increasingly early departure of our best players to European clubs. There, they are molded to perform specific tactical roles, losing the traits that traditionally define Brazilian football. In the late 90s, players would transfer abroad between the ages of 23 and 26. Today, it's almost a miracle if they reach 20 while still playing in Brazil. The top athletes now play almost the same style of football, concentrated in five major European leagues, characterized by a highly physical and tactical game. It's worth noting that there has always been tactics and physical preparation in Brazilian football, but the difference used to be the dribbling and creativity. With today’s football concentrated in about 20 major European teams, Brazilian players who go there have become system players, lacking the ability to decide matches as they once did.

I say the same to my friends. Culturally speaking, Brazilian players are easily involved in parties and enjoyment. Socialmedia maximized this. Now it's just ostentation and women. It's almost impossible for a young player not to be corrupted by this.
Yeah, they were forced to reckon at that time. They had at least more than one legendary player in each position, it's still quite shocking that they lost to France in 1998.
Funny enough, as a Brazilian born in 82, I lived through all of these years and the media would crash the Brazilian National Team ALL THE TIME! Rivaldo? Cafu? Man, these were always extremely criticized on every game... Brazil did not easily qualify to the 1994 and 2002 WCs, even if we won them... These teams were always under a lot of pressure! In fact, Brazil reached their bottom in the 2001 Copa América went we lost to HONDURAS in the quarter finals...
To be fair if you told Brazilians in 1970 they wouldn’t get another WC until 24 years later they would think you are crazy but this fall off is insane. Shows how much Neymar carried this team and I hope people show him his much due respect now he is not there.
True, but after Pele’s generation at least that era of Zico and Socrates was still incredibly respected and formidable, they also were well known for playing incredible football
funny how people claim that neymar carried brazil, even tho he also hasn't won anything major with the national team and something like 60% of his international goals were scored in meaningless friendlies, brazil has also won 2019 copa america without him lmao, neymar is overrated
Yeah while making this video I just thought it was so weird to watch them celebrate so wildy from scoring a goal to cut the lead to only 6 goals… I guess they needed it to avoid absolute and complete shame but my goodness 😟
Cafu, "I am afraid, the more we have Brazilians moving to the Premier League, the fewer chances for Brazil to win the World Cup. Imagine being brainwashed by the media every week that you are the best in the world, meanwhile, you are not near the best."
Because that's what European whites do. Convince you their better when in the complete opposite. Coming from a black American with native blood... Trust me..
I think it was around Pato’s generation, after the 2002 win and after Kaka’s generation, that every Brazilian talent was touted to be the next big thing. And they were almost entirely not anything. Older generations were so good because they did the fundamentals like clock work. They also took time to develop. Ronaldo didn’t go straight to Barcelona. Neither did Ronaldinho.
Jokes aside he is miles better than Endrick for the national team. The only reason he was dropped was because of the fake allegations against him, not due to poor performances.
The biggest problem in Brazil is the lack of a good national manager. We even have good players on paper (Even with them not being better than others on history) but if the team lacks organization they potential cant be drawn
Brazil has the population and facilities to build their domestic league, instead they are bought by Europe and they lose their minds thanks to money, partying, drugs
the two madmen spoiled us so much, we thought it would never end,the truth is football has gone back to factory settings, after the two bugs have been cleaned from the system( messi and ronaldo)
@@birame2008 I hear you but they were an anomaly. I’m talking about your great players that came through the years like maldini kaka R9 Henry Iniesta xavi Rafa Márquez I mean the list goes on and on. You look at these new young players and they lack flare, skill, technicality, mentality.
The first match of professional football I ever saw was Ronaldinho's last match for Brazil. Even then he intrigued me. So smiling, dancing, with those great teeth and his wild hair. As I grew up and got more television (internet, really) available, it was a joy to realize just how great he had been. I was too young to appreciate at the time, but it was a fantastic scene to witness his farewell
haha this makes me feel super old b/c i was 14 when Ronaldinho first made a global impact at the 2002 World Cup by singlehandedly torching England lol and that game was just the beginning. He moved to Barcelona like 2-3 years later and became the Ronaldinho that everybody knows
After the 1970 WC Brazil went on a huge drought with no success but their golden generation of the 90s and 2000s helped reestablish Brazil as the greatest footballing nation for many. From 1994-2009 🔥 2x World Cup 3x Confederations Cup 4x Copa America
yeah but the difference is the style of play and how good they were for example 70s 80s brazil especially the zico and socrates era were beautiful football and 1982 brazil considered one of the greatest team even though they didn't win.and also brazil won copa america in the 80s
As you said, people are ignoring the fact that it has been at least a generation since Brazil last produced an elite playmaker like Kaka or Ronaldinho. You can have all the viniciuses, rodrygos and raphinhas you want, if they don't get service (a good playmaker behind them) they won't do anything. Not to mention that brazilian coaches were simply left behind tactically consistently and individual play just won't cut it anymore
Maaaan could've been Oscar😢 He chose to follow the money. Do I blame him, no. Although, his career was only going up. Couldve potentially earned that money as his career flourished.

I think it’s probably a societal thing which has impacted their football factory. A Portuguese buddy of mine lived in Brazil from 2015 to 2018 and he says the football culture is mirrored by the change in how daily life is and kids don’t seem to care like they used to. Maybe exposure to other sports or activities is the reason. It’s sad to see. Neymar is also the poster child for this. Not the cause but his career personifies that
I can imagine this. I've only been to Brazil once myself about 7-8 years ago but I've got a fair few Brazilian friends in London and from what I can tell, Brazil is a country that has recently become significantly richer quite recently. Access to the internet, to video games, Netflix and the various trappings of basically a modern Western society have started to take hold. The days of the kids having nothing to do but play football in the street have genuinely faded away a bit, so you don't have this 'ideal footballing country' where you had a massive population, huge football culture, nothing else to really distract the up-and-coming kids but just enough capital and infrastructure to run decent academies and maintain good quality coaching.
@@matthewstevens1736 Mate I’m from South Africa and we went through what Brazil is going through: we had a golden age of football and once the country got “richer” and became more developed and open to Westernized customs, our football suffered. Players started not caring and showed less desire because they were now earning the salary of an Executive or successful business owner. Plus Rugby became more Popular here amongst the black kids, in the township(equivalent to the Favelas in Brazil)
@@matthewstevens1736 I'm Brazilian and I believe it's not just that. Brazil has become extremely dangerous, so people avoid leaving children on the street, either because of kidnappings or robberies... Most people avoid leaving the house or being on the street. There are no longer those super happy people, who didn't worry about anything and just wanted to have fun. Politics destroyed the Brazil I knew and now the majority just want to leave...
2018 world cup brazil squad is so underrated imo it was easily their best team since 2002, shame they couldn't overcome belgiums golden generation they had a good shot at winning the whole tournament
Yes, both 2018 and 2022 were good teams. 2022 had better names overall and I think they were indeed the best team alingside Argentina. As for 2018, it were either France, Belgium or Brazil
@@luccavalentinw.fiorini2302 nah tbh 2018 brazil was better since a lot of their players (neymar, thiago silva, coutinho, firmino, marquinhos) ect were still in their primes the big names in 2022 are players like vinicius who dont perform well outside their clubs
@@Wyvernvzx as a Brazillian our perception was that 2022 was a better team, because we were more stacked... In 2018 outside de first 11 + Ederson there was no one else that good and Neymar was returning from injury (we also had Jesus on a terrible form, the worst number 9 the brazillian national team ever had on 22 WC so far, since he was the only one that didn't scored a single goal)
@@luccavalentinw.fiorini2302 i get what you mean tbf but imo when you look at the players from 2018 who didn't play in 2022 (firmino, coutinho, douglas costa, marcelo augusto) and then their replacements (vini jr, rodrygo, richarlison, antony, militao) you see a clear difference in quality and that combined with the fact that the remaining players were in much better form in 2018 (neymar, thiago silva, casemiro ect) on paper the 2018 team would be better but you're right though context matters like how neymar was returning from a injury
That's really, really sad, man!! One of the main reasons why I loved Brazil is the way they used to play...It was so much fun for the eye to watch that art + they were the most feared team at the time of Ronaldinho and Ronaldo's era!
well for me I think the opposite. I think that they were too stubborn with that old style of brazilian players, doing unnecessary dribbling, or trying to dribble the whole. The level has increased. Relying only on dribblers won't make you win games. They're still very useful. But now it's just a part that you need to win. You need good midfielders that can find unseen passes and can defend. You also need a good defense, quick and can play with the ball. Fullbacks who are complete, they can defend, provide assist and runs. And a good tactic
@@MoSylla45it's more like "press resistant" players nowadays a team relied on space and pressing, dribbles doesn't do anything if you got surrounded by 3 players.
To be honest 2022 wc was truly Brazil’s ,before they face Croatia they didn’t conceile a goal.A single defensive mistake cost them the defeat.Neymar was so unlucky to become one of the greatest players of all time.
You do realise him winning as part of a team has zero baring on his individual ability. He could have been one of the greatest of all time but a shocking attitude prevented him from reaching his potential. If he'd spent as much time practicing on the pitch as he did diving and rolling around like a fanny he would have been better and not absolutely despised but loved for being entertaining.
Guys i´m brazilian and i can explain why our national team play like shit today. The main reason is that the Agents of most brazilian players dictate the squad for the brazilian teams and also the national team. In Brazil unfortunately there´s this culture of people trying to get monetarily advantage among others. We still produce really good players, in every city of this country, but most of then don´t have a agent and they simply can´t make it to professional
True, if you don’t have proper agent, you can have talent and work ethic, but no one is gonna hear of you. I think no one feares Brazil anymore, they are good team, but not invincible.
So you mean that the problem is the Brazilian culture which is corrupted and mainly interested in making a quick buck? Explains why Brazil is getting worse and worse...

Furthermore, i want to say as a dutchman and Ajax fan, that seeing Ronaldo(R9) comming up in de Eredivisie was amazing, he is still one of my favorites of all time. The Ajax team of that time was even better, but PSV was amazing with Ronaldo and Nilis. Interesting as well, is that Ronaldo said that Nilis is favorite partner in the attack of everybody. The intervieuwer was shocked. Brasil, and Brasilian football is special. Like the football from The Netherlands. Unique. The best is that they keep playing in there own style, despite of winning or losing. For me the most special player i have seen play is Ronaldo, el Phenomeno. But the most amazing player off all time is for me Johan Cruijff. Maybe, 'bias' because of The Netherlands. The Brasil shirt will always stay special.
@@VideosNoOnewhat if??? Really?? Ronaldo was the best at his peak and continued to be the best after the injury making Brazil won the 2002 world cup. Idk what planet u live on.
As an Argentine, I always liked Jogo Bonito (besides the rivalry we have with them) and the way they play (or used to) how they treat the ball, how technical the players were, all that playing with joy in their faces as if they were playing on beaches or into a favela.
I've noticed in myself a decline of interest in football in general. The way it's played nowadays is more a matter of athletism & strategy than pure football skills & intelligence.
My first football memory was seeing the 1970s team in the World Cup . Watching the greatest goal ever was a beautiful and poetic and I still remember sitting in front of the tv Ona hot summer afternoon as a seven year old hearing the names of Pele , Rivelino, Jairzhino and how they sounded and looked so otherworldly and exciting
It's not a talent issue. Brazil has mediocre coaching. There is no elite Brazilian manager. A lot of Brazil's best managers would be middle tier in a country like Argentina. Just look at the best coaches coaching in Brazil Serie A. They're not even Brazilian. Brazil needs to hire someone like Abel Ferreira from Palmeiras, if they can. But Brazil has too much pride in hiring Brazilian-born managers. Making the World Cup is far more important.
The 94 Brazilian with Romario and Bebeto were special and I was an Italian fan devastated when Baggio missed but can't deny the class of that Brazilian team!
One thing I'd like to see discussed more with this topic: If Brazil is doing so poorly, why does Argentina keep winning? Argentine players also get shipped off to Europe at a young age, but somehow Argentina is still dominant. What makes the difference? Can Brazil learn from their rivals and adapt to a new world?
Argentina has not been as dominant ad you claim. It took them 36 years to win another world cup .There good performances have mainly been as a result of the extra ordinary talent of Messi and also the brilliance of Dimaria who has been prone to injury .When Dimaria got injured in the 2014 world cup semi finals, the burden was solely Messi to carry the team against a very formidable German side and they ended up loosing to Germany in extra time.
Diferent aproach. Argentina used to debate between bilardo or menotti.. very different way of thinking. But bilardo won. Nowdays a Hard foul or taclke Will get praised in argentina .. you have to "meter huevos" .. play with a knife between your theeth.. Brazilians would never be allowed to play a río de la plata stile of football.. they cant . Btw argentina won under MESSI and di maría (with a team of hardworkers behind) .. is not like they didnt need the second coming of Maradona to win...
Argentina has been dominant for 4 or 5 years, after nearly 30 years of winning nothing and wasting most of the prime years of arguably the best player ever. So, I would not draw any conclusions yet…
@@SsaliJoel-ig9pl Brazil has consistently failed against the first tough European team they meet since the 2006 World Cup. Argentina may have had a trophy drought between 1993 and 2021, but they still managed to go all the way to the final in 2014 (and very nearly win it, too). They sure did a lot better than 7-1, even without the host advantage. Brazil seems to do alright in CONMEBOL (until recently), but they can't beat European teams. Argentina can, even before their recent winning streak.
Argentina is plain better in most sports. Argentina are better in more sports than brazil sich as boxing, rugby, basketball, handball, etc. Brazil haa fallen off
Zidane stopping this Brazil side on 2 different occasions is something truly remarkable. If it weren't for Zidane Brazil wouls probably have now 6 or 7 WC trophies

i almost cry because these days brazil national team are clowns and divers. real brazil = ronaldo ronaldhino, kaka cafu , roberto carlos, adriano, lucio, ze roberto , and robinho . off course legend as zico , romario, bebeto and king pele
Funny comment, Neymar is actually the main symbol of this failed generation, but instead of chosing him you put Endrick in the thumbnail who barely began his carrer, and is far from being one of the players underperforming in the national team (even Vini Jr. would make more sense). If anything he's the one who simbolizes the Brazil's hopes to return to the top, not Neymar.
I am glad I witness the glory days of Ronaldo and Ronaldinho football era, kinda lost interest when the team got replaced . Thanks for thee nostalgic video.
As an Argentinian, Brazil isn’t in decline. Not even close nor in my lifetime at least. When Neymar was the star of Brazil, especially when Brazil stopped calling up Ronaldinho and kaka in the early 2010s. Many were saying Brazil was in decline in that decade. Now that Messi-Ronaldo aren’t irrelevant, many Brazilians now are giving Neymar the credit he should’ve gotten. Brazil wool always have a great abundance of players left and right. Even at theyre worse stage, they have always been better than Argentina post Maradona. Argentina to be fair was overhyped for many years, and it wasn’t until Messi came along and then put Argentina at the same level as Brazil, Germany, Spain, and Italy in the 2010s. Brazil will be back I’m sure soon. I really would like to see Neymar win the WC, so he can finally say we are in the Neymar era of greatness.
I'm brazilian so I'm biased to say, but i'm more worried with post-Messi argentina than with post-Neymar generation, cuz Brazil still got very young Rodrygo/Vini/Endrick, but I don't think De Paul and Lautaro will be able to keep the squad on the very top. Not to mention Di Maria is also retiring soon, and their absence will make a HUGE impact. I know Argentina did win against Brazil in last matchs and is playing much better, just saying I can't see young generation being very promising though
@@marcosyy87 like I said, Brazil will always be great no matter what. Argentina will be okay, but not as great. Post Maradona up until 2010. Argentina was decent but overrated. Who knows when we will have another Argentinian legend. I don’t think anytime soon. But now we can be more comparable against Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands and Spain.
Newmar is physicaly weak, multiple injury will not bring him to highest level, he is not Ronaldo nazario, i remember R9 also haunted by multiple injury, but he is still show his quality and bring Brazil go to 2 world cup final and win one. Sorry to say, but Neymar also part of Brazilian football decline
I fell in love with soccer / football when I lived in Brasil in 2019. Hearing the cheers every time they scored at Copa America was enough for me to be hooked on the sport for life. Watching the national team struggle these past few years has been tough, and most of the Brazilians I know are frustrated with the play, but I have faith that I will witness a new era where o jogo bonito dominates the global sport. It’s still Brasil, and the sport still belongs to them.
It's not their sport. Football is a European sport, actually from England. Brazil was hot from the 1960's to the early 00"s. But you have an emotional response to things it seems. I wonder where come from..
Having said that, Brazil has just won their sixth futsal world cup a few hours ago today. Along with the previously won beach world cup a few months ago, it is the second time Brazil won a sixth world cup in a football related competiion this year.
In the 1998 final France was not ‘the underdog ‘. They played on homeground and also had Zidane. The Brasilian team was in turmoil because Ronaldo had suffered from an epileptic fit just the day before the final - so he was unable to play welll as is perfectly clear by watching that final.
Fun fact even the 2006 golden era with Kaka/R9 etc they weren't playing good football it was already the beginning of the downfall.. Zidane was toying with Kaka and R9 and the whole Brazilian team.
False! Ronaldo was old and fat and was refusing to run! I remember that i was there.. Also lot of the team was old and there was a very stuborn old coach.
Zidane was the 12th Brazilian in 2006… still remember watching the game and being blown away by it… this was literally peak Zidane against an “overconfident” Brazil… but if it wasn’t for that maybe they would have won the Hexa… who knows?
The last one who had "Samba" flowing through his veins was Neymar which revealed a lot about the disastrous state of the selecao when they relied heavily on him WC 2014. No one except him had any creativity to make things happen....
The main problem with current Brazil team is that they don’t have a proper midfield. The midfielders are literally very average players. If it’s set then half of the problems are solved.
You dont see 25 kids playing in the streets with one ball (that’s where the dribbles, reflexes and balance is developed)….they are all in academies learning to play the European way 😢
Well football is a European sport. Things have just got more professional. Next you will be talking about MMA fighters who learnt in the gym rather than scraping in the streets
@@liviekumoriBy the late 90's Europe as a whole got stronger. Now even a country such as Croatia or Belgium is a tough game for anyone. It's like if a pro went to play football against a bunch of drunks he could style on them. Much harder vs an organized team of professional athletes. Not just that but the standard of international football has got more professional. I wonder when someone aside from a South American or a European country will win the world cup.
The current Brazilian squad lacks a leader and a world class midfielder. They have got 2 of the best goalkeepers in the world, Alison and Ederson, And with the likes of Vini Jr, Rodrygo, Neymar, Raphinha, Richarlison, Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Endrick and Savio at their disposal they are the envy of many national football teams. Brazil has not in any way declined in International football. You know by the number of Brazilian players plying their trade in the best leagues in Europe. Other countries have simply become better, so Brazil is unable to dominate the game like they once did. Football has moved from being a game reserved only for the super talented to a game that is much more than talent. Now you need several variables to be able to dominate football and that is why in recent year, European teams have risen to a point where they are a force to be reckoned with.
No, absolutely awful opinion. European footbal is the same thing, Brasil that got worse, losing to african, south american and even asian teams a lot in recent years And the reason is not bcs we rely to much on talent, but because our current talents are dogshit who plays in mid table teams in England and not in Brasil
Defense is just so rigorous and disciplined nowadays. I am not sure the samba style would flourish even if they had maintained it. It will be interesting to see how the game continues to evolve. Already people talk about some few teams who go back to a more flashy or less orderly style, in an attempt to subvert Pep's influence all across Europe. A few Dutch teams, etc, who are doing surprisingly well sometimes. But it seems a long way off.
Accurate depiction about what’s going on. Back in the day, even when losing, it was worth stopping to watch. Nowadays, I don’t even care. There is no more respect to wear that yellow shirt, no more love, pride or honor.
I think while Antony is justified to be on the thumbnail, even Vini and Rodrygo to some extent but it's kinda too early to declare Endrick a flop, the kid has just turned 18, I think we'd need to see more of him before declaring him a failure with national team
Brazil missing out the upcoming World Cup was considered a "humiliation" for the whole country and FIFA. The country had always qualified for every single World Cup. As for FIFA, it's a big shame considering the 2026 edition has 48 teams, with CONMEBOL having 6 automatic spots + 1 winner from the playoff.

That 90s/00s generation was pure skill, dedication - one of the best team in history. Today Brasil feels more like instagram boys - with tattoos and crazy haircuts, some skill is still there at the cost of one little contact and they fall in pain, hoping for foul.
Part of the problem is that Brazilians don't really have their own style anymore, the rest of the world has adopted their moves while Brazilians play more like Euros

The days of the kids having nothing to do but play football in the street have genuinely faded away a bit, so you don't have this 'ideal footballing country' where you had a massive population, huge football culture, nothing else to really distract the up-and-coming kids but just enough capital and infrastructure to run decent academies and maintain good quality coaching.

well for me I think the opposite.

Argentina has not been as dominant ad you claim. Good players-
Richarlison, Raphinha, Martinelli, G Jesus
Average players-
Paqueta, Danilo, Renan Lodi
High potential players-
Endrick, Savio, Pedro
Trust me it’s never the players’ fault, always the management that’s ruining everything
Brazil still relies on dribblers
No, absolutely awful opinion.
European footbal is the same thing, Brasil that got worse, losing to african, south american and even asian teams a lot in recent years
And the reason is not bcs we rely to much on talent, but because our current talents are dogshit who plays in mid table teams in England and not in Brasil
Exactly. And that's just a phase of Brazil
Agree with defensive players not being the focal point of Brazilian football, however Bremer is world class, underrated defender
Samba style? What the fuck is this supposed to be?
Accurate depiction about what’s going on.
Back in the day, even when losing, it was worth stopping to watch. Nowadays, I don’t even care. There is no more respect to wear that yellow shirt, no more love, pride or honor.
I think while Antony is justified to be on the thumbnail, even Vini and Rodrygo to some extent but it's kinda too early to declare Endrick a flop, the kid has just turned 18, I think we'd need to see more of him before declaring him a failure with national team
I lived to see the 2002 zenith and the 2014 downfall.
If they don't make WC26 then that's the final nail in the coffin.
Brazil will definitely qualify. I’m certain.
13:01 I tuned in to watch football after a long time during 2018 world cup and I got see Hazard terrorizing the team that day can't believe its been over 6 years now
Love Your Content Raymar 🙌🏻🔥 ... The Best Football explanatory videos in UA-cam 💯😁👍🏻
14:30 Croatia loss was embarrassing
Brazil is still traumatized from 2014. Tactics overall have gotten too monotonous. And the sport has now become a new bourgeois sport.
As someone who's been following football since the late 60's modern football just doesn't really excite me anymore. It's just too passionless, homogenous, suffocatingly rigid, devoid of flair and almost robotic and entirely money driven. When 22 robots eventually take the field I doubt you'll even notice it.
That 2006 squad was so disappointing. One of the best they ever had....on paper.
Rivaldo said, in his day, kids were playing football in the streets, nowadays they're playing fifa in their bedrooms.
That 90s/00s generation was pure skill, dedication - one of the best team in history. Today Brasil feels more like instagram boys - with tattoos and crazy haircuts, some skill is still there at the cost of one little contact and they fall in pain, hoping for foul.
Exactly 💯 that's all they are now. Pretty boys with tats on the arm and design haircut 💈 s.
Bit of a hot take but i feel theyve been ruined by new age european tactics.
If you can't keep up with competition then that doesn't mean they are ruined, but couldn't compete/adapt
Part of the problem is that Brazilians don't really have their own style anymore, the rest of the world has adopted their moves while Brazilians play more like Euros
Well football is a European sport

Ótimo vídeo. 👏
Bro 2:52-3:10🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And also the guy in the blue shirt in 2:54-2:56 omg he is literally the bruce lee of football
I feel like ending the video with that spin move is some nasty work lmao. Another banger of a vid man, keep it up!
1:42 I will not tolerate this Bolivia slander when we actually have trophies and WC appearances to our name, there’s a clear candidate which has neither 👀
Get outta here with your one trophy in 60 years and 1 WC goal ever
@@vibequest6817 still better than 0 and 0 from Venezuela though
It's not really a decline in Brazilian talent but more of the competition has caught up to Brazil. The advancement in nutrition, training, and coaching has come a long way for many countries.
as brazilian i think its a good thing this happened, people here used to care more about football than their societal issues
And they still do, otherwise they wouldnt have elected a thief to the presidency
The evolution of football is more rewarding to high level athletes than to football magicians with flair.
Brasil had ballers.. We need a bit more of Brasil in Modern Football..
Antony has entered the chat...
14:37 now i know why Anthony is now what he is.That loss to Croatia broke his confidence for good😢
3:30 Pelé wasn’t born in 1958. I’m pretty sure he won a World Cup in 1958 and was born in 1940. Just a heads up
Listen to that part again
At least we still have futsal.
The 98 World Cup was the first time I'd seen a Brasil team get humbled. 2002 made up for that but they've been seen as mortals since.
I'd fallen in love with the Zico & Careca era of Brasil, my partner is from Brasil too. We had the misfortune of watching the 2014 WC semi final with our German housemate and his German friend plus my Brazilian partner.
Ouch.
I mean if your at the very top the only way is down :-
you got a point
Neymar should be in the thumbnail next to Anthony.. he was the beginning of the decline.
In the recent friendly between Spain and Brazil there was only one Brazilian on the pitch and that was Yamal
I don't get it. Could you please explain
@@michaelr.7805he means Lamine Yamal was the only one showing anything that resembled “Joga Bonito” in that match despite playing for Spain.
Google Estevão
What a surprise no vini in the thumbnail, i wonder why
If Brazil lacked arrogance, they may have won all World Cups
Like vini, he talk alot but never perform for brazil
@@peel1047 As a Blaugrana fan, I can confirm🤣I hope we can humble him on 26th October💙❤
As a Brazillian I kinda agree... If you want to be arrogant you need results to back it up for you. Like if that 1994-2002 were arrogant it would be fine because they won everything.
But this generation?? Pfft ridiculous, all thanks to Neymar's influence on this younglings, the divings and the crying, being pop stars Instead of players all became with him
@@luccavalentinw.fiorini2302 80s Brazil had great players too. But I don't really know what got into them and showed this memtality. Especially Zico and Falcao era.
If Brazil had an average IQ above 90, they could have become a successful country.
Very informative and useful, I will recommend it to friends and colleagues.
Neymar, Richarlison and Antony are the biggest flakers in Brazilian football.
What?
The 2022 Brazil team made me think back to forwards like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Romario, Bebeto then in 2022 they have that clown Richarlison up front. HE is the best striker option Brazil had? Dear oh dear.
Argentina only shines under Goat. Messi was Argentina's first player to reach a World Cup final since Maradona. Compared to that, the situation in Brazil is not bad. Look at Italy, how far they have fallen. now people don't even mention it. Germany also in decline, Doesn't Brazil have the highest average performance in the World Cup?
You reminded me Giovanni from WC98 Former Santos & Olympiakos legend! What a player! A very underrated player!
goddamn that 1997 brasil squad and the mundial france 98 really make my eyes teary.
once football was authentic and passionate compared to todays sold out shit
i'll be honest, the talent's still there, but the coaching staff isn't. The brazilian coachs literally stopped in time and don't know how to nurture the talent anymore.
Tbf, the power gap between Brazil and the other countries is getting smaller, so football is getting more competitive world wide.
