The cat 3406 motor is what initially pulled me to trucks. My grandfather had one and said he could pull a mountain up the side of a skyscraper if he needed to. Zeemod has a beautiful mod for that torquey beast

For SCI adapters, said friend he is mentioning would be me. I always wanted a SCI wheel for my rig and once i got to know Justin, he was able to help me get the SCI wheel (could not find anywhere that ships outside of the US) and do the adapter for me. Id recommend getting stuff from him any day of the week.

I own the original ATS box from ATS accessories about a year ago. It has the brushed alum face with my logo. with the remote I can change background colors. I love my box, and I makes my sim have a more realistic feel to it.
took 7 mins for me to realize you were wearing my favorite bands band T. thanks for the awesome content Jeff one of my favorite streamers/content creators. Super happy you support Shinedown as well, because their music has been a large part of my life.
Idea: You and the boys should host a christmas special FivePD episode where all of you are the perps. In OCRP and the ocrp community has to chase all of you done or something like that
Shout out to this guy who makes all of this but one nice little touch and it's the only thing I see would be to add a battery life indicator to the box somehow that way you never loose power while driving OTR...

I have been around trucking my whole life. I went to the website and the prices are extremely good for what it has. Plus using real truck parts the prices are really good. the fact he is just an honest guy doing what he is passionate about i am for sure ordering stuff in the new year.

the turn signal addon looks useful. I run VR as of this week and I've tried to flip the signal stalk ... which of course isn't physically there. My concern centers around the G27 wheelbase and the design of the signal module doesn't look like it's meant to fit on that curved and low-profile faced wheel base.
@@morgfarm1 Yeah, I have the g29, not sure how well it would mount there either. I'm working on getting my oculus to work better when running ats. It is super laggy, and I can't seem to get it to stop.
@@gambler4898 I got the Reverb G2 last week actually. Running Ryzen 7 3800X with a 6900XT. All settings at ultra and scaling at 100% frame rate isn't excellent but it's playable for me. Is it like controller lag or just poor frame rates?

This is amazing! What's funny is Justin is from the Cincy Area! Before I moved here to Florida, I always loved going to Cincy! I loved Jungle Jims there lol. I live in Dayton! Also -- another box or something.... if you could turn the air on in the truck or heat -- added realism by installing a fan to make it cool or warm would be really cool!!! Just a thought haha. Keep the ATS content coming Brother.I got the Thrustmaster T248 steering wheel yesterday for My PS4,My first Thrustmaster wheel,I LOVE it! I'm glad the pedal base has some weight to it,I been playing SnowRunner all day.the brake & gas pedal were flip flopped so I had to turn off paired pedals

Thats a cool story, I work for a local company in Middletown Ohio, north of Cinci and heard a story from my dad that worked at the same place. Their company used to run Interplant for Armco and they took one of those heavy interplant trucks to a truck pull back in the 90s and it competed against the Liberty Bell Mack and got second place and it was just a stock mack with massive rearends and double frame made to pull 375000 pounds of steel coils. Curious which company His grandparents ran in Cinci.

Awesome ATS setup there Jeff, I have a question, now if I remember you've never been in a big truck before, right? If given the chance, do you think you could drive a semi with no issues? Because from watching you, you definitely look like you have been driving for years lol!
I think it'll definitely prepare someone to drive one. Braking/shifting will be different IRL as well as inertia. I think you've got a massive advantage from doing it in this way though.
I Second Joseph. Handling the tractor wouldn't be too hard, but braking is going to be hugely different. We're used to motion thrown brakes or load-cell. Hydraulic based brakes are what load-cell brake systems are designed for, so air powered brakes are going to be very unnatural feeling. Well and he's used to head-tracking. I'm still trying to get used to a VR Based experience. I will tell you right now the depth perception is hugely helpful for backing trailers, as is the ability to actually stick your head out the window and quickly change your head around to see both mirrors well enough to back. I'll say VR for immersion and depth perception can't be beat when backing. There's also something satisfying about being able to lift yourself up in your seat to see over the hood or to just step back with your VR headset on and stand or lay in the sleeper (...assuming there isn't an old drill press in the way).
If support ever happened, you could even have a co-driver sitting next to you and you could actively switch drivers. Nothing practical about it but the immersion level is most definitely there.
