I got a scania shifter from a guy in Poland who also does that stuff, it's good quality as well I've had this thing for 3 years now and no problems with it whatsoever

I float gears all the time, can't comment on a sim base but real truck, yeah I use my clutch to start and stop that's it

I use to dream of driving a big rig or any kinda of semi truck 🚛 but now that I know it had 18 gears and my boring self can hardly keep all the normal car gears in my head clear I decided that nope not the job for me.
Big rigs are cool, powerful, and loudly projecting wherever they roll on to. I stick to watching and learning about them.
I saying that I get to stuck in the details and not beable to looking at the big rig 🚛 gearshifter as a simple tool or equipment but that just me and how I am, cannot help it. I sure I not the only one who been a little more OCD about their transportation or company vehicles gears and other technologies, but enjoy what you do and take care ya’ll!

I actually built one myself! Using the real switches. No added buttons. Makes playing American truck sim so much better!

I built my own eaton shifter and switch box with actual full size toggle switches with those fancy peterbilt chrome switch covers.
I didn’t know that they had something like that yet, I wish I had that whole set up because it is so cool

I still got my SKRS shifter, but it took like 6 months before i got it after a lot of complaining,
I don’t use it often, but it still works fine

You should do a secondary upload of the wheel-cam as the main focus with ATS as the smaller.

I've seen the STG Eaton shifter before and your right, it does look good. So far my SKRS shifter is still working great and it has the custom side jake brake button built in. I know those guys hosed a lot people who ordered a shifter and never got it, that's a shame because they had a good thing going. Your also right about floating the gears, if the RPM's aren't right it ain't going into the gear and the noise is unforgiving in real life to, lol. One of the many things you have that I can't afford is that button box, that thing is nice and as soon as I hit the lottery I'm getting one. Nice presentation Jeff, good luck on the new house, the new shifter and the new wheel your getting. Stay safe out there.

As I watch this video I have the same shift knob right next to me except mine has the plain eaton medallion but airlines to it. The front “switch” is called a range valve.

My SKRS shifter should arrive tomorrow so I can finally be able to use something higher than a 6 speed gearbox in both ATS & ETS2 especially since SC S has recently decided to remove the 6 speed gearbox from all trucks in ATS.

Actually that extension puts the shift knob pretty close to the right height of the real trucks. Does have the throw of a wore out transmission, most new trucks have nearly as tight of a shift pattern as a car. Driving the 2016 KW at work takes some getting used too since I normally drive the older trucks and its 10 speed is tighter than the 5 speed in my pickup truck.

Hey Jeff, I have the same wheel, pedal and shifter setup as you and was about to pull the trigger on this shift knob. Is there a tutorial on how to configure the game to work with the shifter? I would like to use the clutch to start and then float gears once moving like you are doing. Just wondering how the game handles this and what the best settings are.

Hi, jeff I know the colorado is coming out be for that 1.39 is also coming with a new trailer the new lowboy trailer that you use for oversize DLC and the special transport when the load has been delivered to your destination you will have an empty trailer to go and reload again?

the asp is an awesome worth while mod but if your in OZ; watch that exchange wait goes from 300 to 500
Interested in this shifter setup and about to pull the trigger on a wheel / pedal / shifter after playing BeamNG for 2 1/2 years and ATS for a year with keyboard only (yeah, yeah, I know). Was leaning toward Thrustmaster, but couldn't decide between the TMX PRO, T300, T150, etc., and now the G923 has me thinking again, though I'm not sure I'll like the all-gear drive vs the belt-drive Thrustmaster, having driven real 18-wheelers. You mentioned the 8-gate Thrustmaster shifter setup, but I didn't catch any mention anywhere of the wheel.
Wanted to know what wheel you use, and why you chose the wheel setup and shifter setup you did? And what's the air brake hand valve setup you have? I'm wanting to get one of those as well. And does it work with 1.40? I'm hearing about a lot of stuff that doesn't work anymore since the update. Just finalizing research before I order. I don't plan on doing F1 or LeMans-style race games, so I think a six-gate will do just fine for my purposes.

Just a question, the road textures look different on the roads, what did you do to get them to look more crisp and realistic?
Cool that there is a "true" truck shifting knob, but you gotta practice splitting your high side gears now. Not some complaint I have been a truck driver for 20+ years, just would be cool to see you get the total experience of it.
