the main theme for XY is SERIOUSLY underrated, absolute banger and real "gateway to an adventure" type music. also the fact the wild encounter sounds slightly like a boss theme when it gets to a certain part. AND Diantha's theme is lovely!! it suits her so well!
X/Y has some of my favorite themes! Diantha's Champion theme is my favorite Champion theme, it has my favorite Victory Road theme and my favorite Legendary theme. Oh and Anistarn Snowbelle and Shalour are some of my all time favorite modern town themes.

XY were amazing to me. Back then they were beyond impressive, and whenever I look back I see how great they were and how they got so many things right, especially in their time. People love to hate on them but eventually they'll get the gen V treatment
I highly doubt that. People will probably not hate it, because compared to Gen 7 and 8 (and maybe even beyond) it does a lot right. People will probably love what it did right such as shiny hunting, online, QoL features, Megas, and a bit more. But it will never reach the status of the DS games. And the reason for that is because Gen 6 does a LOT wrong. It was the beginning of Pokemon going downhill, (well technically I'd say Gen 5 technically was, despite being great itself, it planted the seeds). It had no mythical events, they were just handed to you. There was no side content (Gen 5 removed a lot of the series' side content, but it replaced it with other content. Gen 6 didn't, it just didn't have side content.) It has very little postgame. It has very abysmal story and character writing even by Pokemon standards. The game is incredibly linear which is the biggest problem with newer Pokemon games imo (6 is not quite as bad as Gen 7 and 8, thankfully, but those caves are terrible!) The game is absurdly easy even with the EXP Share disabled. While the towns and cities of Kalos are great, the routes are incredibly uninspired and generic with the exception of the top of the region. And overall the game suffered greatly from not having a third version or any expansion in order to flesh it out. All that being said, Gen 6 isn't bad. Gen 6 is definitely a mixed bag and has a lot of really good stuff and a lot of really bad stuff. I wish it was the worst of the Pokemon games, but it sadly isn't. And as more Pokemon games come out, if they're the same quality as Gen 7 and 8, it's just going to make Gen 6 look better.
Gen 6 feels underrated at times, it was amazing! I miss the Furfrou grooming, I had gone out of my way to catch so many of them so they could be one of each avaliable style
YES! Finally someone remembers the "Battle Mega Evolution Successor" theme! It is such a shame that theme only plays once in the entire game. My theory is that it would've been used more in rematches against all the Gym Leaders using Mega Evolution in Pokémon Z. But sadly that game never happened.😭
I hope that if they ever make gen 6 remakes like a Pokémon Z they ramp up the difficulty, because I like the mechanics of gen 6, but they just handed you everything

While Gen 6 has a pretty great OST all around, I'd still say the best track is one that I've never seen anyone bring up, that being the boutique theme. Weird choice I know but it's unironically my favorite track in the game and nobody ever talks about it.

XY was an amazing game and the perfect introduction for a late comer like me to the pokemon serie may be easy for vets but it was perfect for me as a new player and allowed me to enjoy it fully from start to finish

Gen 6 is no where to being bad, and the ost may not be the best but IMO it has best Trainer battle theme and some banger Town themes. It's funny cause after gen 4 remakes are out and hype dies out Gen 5 remakes will be SPAMMED everywhere, while Gen 6 gains popularity and gen 7 becoming Nostalgic. I love this crazy Cycle of Pokémon 🥺💖😩.
I love these songs so much- Pokémon X was my first game and I love that even all these years later I can still remember the exact places these songs would play in game. Diantha’s theme brings me back to the first time I beat her when I was about 10 or so with my level 100 Emolga. Don’t know where my original cartridge for the game is now but if I could erase me memory of a game and play it all over again it’d be this one. It was such a huge part of my childhood. I really hope that one day they remake these games for the switch and fix some of the issues it had. This is probably my favorite game of all time and a huge reason why Delphox and Greninja are my favorite Pokémon. Fennekin was the first Pokémon I ever had and I’ll treasure Fennel forever, wherever she may be. I never understood why these games go so much hate, sure the story was a bit silly and had some plotholes but it was absolutely perfect for 8-10 year old me. I thought the main baddie was truly evil and felt so accomplished when I beat him. I felt like I had truly saved the world. I really hope with all my heart that one day I’m scrolling through UA-cam and see a trailer for a Pokémon X and Y remake. I’d probably start crying ngl- one day well get it, I’m sure of it. Gen 6's gym challenge theme is still my favorite, it instills a sense of intensity and wonder as you face a gym leader. I still think that mega pokemon was a good idea, the future generations fail to grasp the same weight that it held

This was my first pokemon game. Honestly. Glad this was my first it was hard enough to be fun but entertaining enough to keep me attached. Bro the battle music with the guitar is literally fire.
I love Gen 6 to bits, and Pokémon X was my second-ever 3DS game; Kid Icarus: Uprising being my first-ever 3DS game. This made me so emotional since I’m actually playing through Pokémon X for a second time, after putting all my Pokémon into the Pokémon Bank, and then getting them back out ASAP, including those 2016 event Mythical Pokémon that I love to use. This video really brings back memories of when I played through Pokémon X the first time, and also reminds me that I have more memories to make as I play through it a second time. Gen 6 music does indeed hit different.

I grew up on gen 6, it being my first Pokémon game, this this just hits different and is like a small nostalgia trip. I can immediately tell what songs are from where because of how much I played this game as a kid-
Gen6 pros: Easy to train Pokemon, quite a lot of postgame contents despite of Battle Frontier's absence, best trainer battle and elite four battle music Cons: Weak storytelling especially compared to Gen5, least addition of region original Pokemons, Mega evolution being super limited to certain Pokemons, Champion Diantha being too weak both in storytelling and battle
Sorry but the exp share making the game beyond easy is not exactly a pro (it isn't even necessarily hard without it) also what post game? Compared to almost every other game x and y are bone dry in terms of post game. The music is a different story though, I can never get enough of that. And I do agree with most of your cons except for the mega evolution being limited. I feel like that definitely was what made megas feel really cool and special, meanwhile dynamax just feels lame and poorly implemented even though any pokemon can do it. One final thing, saying that pokemon were a lot easier to train then complaining that the champion is too easy seems a little contradictory...

Meanwhile, only 5 people use megas in X and Y, you, your rival, korrina, the champion and the villain They implemented like 20 megas and you see 6 in the main storyline (considering you mega-evolve both your Kanto starter and Lucario) Most mega stones aren't even obtainable until postgame!!!!!
Yeah. Gen 6 is WAY too overhated. And I agree with Gen 1, but Gen 2 was literally hot garbage. I don't know why people praise those games (and Johto) so much
In a game series where B2/W2 was as good as it was and XY was an bad as it was, yes. It is worse than Gen 1 and 2, all flaws included. Gen 1 and 2 are unpolished, but have spirit. Have decent gameplay challenge (yes even 2), more memorable locales, better music, better pokemon, and at least weren't following the prior best game. Gen 6 was such a massive disappointment. SM was much better, even though it had a myriad of its own issues. But...SM was still memorable and unique. This game felt super cookie-cuter like in comparison. I was waaay overleveled for most of the game, there where no side activities aside from a small post-game mission and some side shops in Lumiose City. Bland overworld design. Generic gym leaders that half I can't remember. Aside from Smash reminding me of the generic Champion theme (compared to Iris's theme), I only really recalled Team Flare's theme as being good. The themes shown here are fine, but weren't memorable enough for me to recall. The main villain Lysander's ideals and motives made no sense. Think what you want, but Gen 1 has memorable routes, music, and a decent challenge. Of course held back by terrible bugs, special stat being busted, bad moves like wrap, and lack of variety. Gen 2 has memorable routes and music as well, with the first part having good challenge. Though suffering from a bad level curve for the rest of the game. Still better than XY not challenging me at all. Then some pokemon were gimped like Sneasel and Misdreavus due to the Phy/Spe split not being there. Don't hype up Gen 6. It was a sign of things to come and will always be a disappointment. Sure, Fairy type fixed an existing issue and some of the 3D models look fine. But that's background, and can be gotten in ORAS instead. Also ORAS actually has a post game despite not having Battle Frontier. Or at least more than 2 legendaries...

Nobody ever talks about how great the Kalos gym battle theme is.
Gen 5 was the peak of Pokemon, which means that Gen 4 and Gen 6 were absolutely amazing.
i cant believe i was 9 when this game came out, brings so much nostalgia and happy memories as it was my first owned game but not my first played

Gen 6's gym challenge theme is still my favorite, it instills a sense of intensity and wonder as you face a gym leader. I still think that mega pokemon was a good idea, the future generations fail to grasp the same weight that it held

Gotta mention the Ace Trainer theme for this gen. May technically only be 13 seconds long before it loops,but those 13 seconds go HARD

There really is something about listening to the music with good headphones instead of the crappy 3Ds speakers. They have a value of nostalgia. But the fact you can hear the finer details and the bass line? Incredible

This was my first pokemon game. Honestly. Glad this was my first it was hard enough to be fun but entertaining enough to keep me attached. Bro the battle music with the guitar is literally fire.
Gen 6: the feel good region
I love Gen 6 to bits, and Pokémon X was my second-ever 3DS game; Kid Icarus: Uprising being my first-ever 3DS game.
This made me so emotional since I’m actually playing through Pokémon X for a second time, after putting all my Pokémon into the Pokémon Bank, and then getting them back out ASAP, including those 2016 event Mythical Pokémon that I love to use.
This video really brings back memories of when I played through Pokémon X the first time, and also reminds me that I have more memories to make as I play through it a second time.
Gen 6 music does indeed hit different.

Gen6 pros: Easy to train Pokemon, quite a lot of postgame contents despite of Battle Frontier's absence, best trainer battle and elite four battle music
Cons: Weak storytelling especially compared to Gen5, least addition of region original Pokemons, Mega evolution being super limited to certain Pokemons, Champion Diantha being too weak both in storytelling and battle
Sorry but the exp share making the game beyond easy is not exactly a pro (it isn't even necessarily hard without it) also what post game? Compared to almost every other game x and y are bone dry in terms of post game. The music is a different story though, I can never get enough of that. And I do agree with most of your cons except for the mega evolution being limited. I feel like that definitely was what made megas feel really cool and special, meanwhile dynamax just feels lame and poorly implemented even though any pokemon can do it. One final thing, saying that pokemon were a lot easier to train then complaining that the champion is too easy seems a little contradictory...

Every single main character in the game can gigantamax, period. Every gym leader.
Meanwhile, only 5 people use megas in X and Y, you, your rival, korrina, the champion and the villain
They implemented like 20 megas and you see 6 in the main storyline (considering you mega-evolve both your Kanto starter and Lucario)
Most mega stones aren't even obtainable until postgame!!!!!

Yeah. Gen 6 is WAY too overhated. And I agree with Gen 1, but Gen 2 was literally hot garbage. I don't know why people praise those games (and Johto) so much

In a game series where B2/W2 was as good as it was and XY was an bad as it was, yes. It is worse than Gen 1 and 2, all flaws included. Gen 1 and 2 are unpolished, but have spirit. Have decent gameplay challenge (yes even 2), more memorable locales, better music, better pokemon, and at least weren't following the prior best game. Gen 6 was such a massive disappointment. SM was much better, even though it had a myriad of its own issues. But...SM was still memorable and unique. This game felt super cookie-cuter like in comparison. I was waaay overleveled for most of the game, there where no side activities aside from a small post-game mission and some side shops in Lumiose City. Bland overworld design. Generic gym leaders that half I can't remember. Aside from Smash reminding me of the generic Champion theme (compared to Iris's theme), I only really recalled Team Flare's theme as being good. The themes shown here are fine, but weren't memorable enough for me to recall. The main villain Lysander's ideals and motives made no sense.
Think what you want, but Gen 1 has memorable routes, music, and a decent challenge. Of course held back by terrible bugs, special stat being busted, bad moves like wrap, and lack of variety. Gen 2 has memorable routes and music as well, with the first part having good challenge. Though suffering from a bad level curve for the rest of the game. Still better than XY not challenging me at all. Then some pokemon were gimped like Sneasel and Misdreavus due to the Phy/Spe split not being there.
Don't hype up Gen 6. It was a sign of things to come and will always be a disappointment. Sure, Fairy type fixed an existing issue and some of the 3D models look fine. But that's background, and can be gotten in ORAS instead. Also ORAS actually has a post game despite not having Battle Frontier. Or at least more than 2 legendaries...
@@SuperSSSSooonniicccc True. To me, gen 6 was when Game Freak started milking gen 1 to no end, which is probably why I dislike it so much. I think the reason I hype up gen 6 is because I grew up with these games (after gen 5). That, and Meowstic debuted in gen 6, along with mega Gallade in ORAS.
The theme that plays when you first enter the elite 4 area will always be one of my personal favorites
