- The Albanese government “loved a royal commission” when they were in opposition, says Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes.
Her comments come after Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus refused to commit to a royal commission into domestic violence.
“I think it’s interesting that Mark Dreyfus has automatically gone to no royal commission,” Ms Hughes told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.
“When this government was in opposition, they loved a royal commission into every topic that was going.
“To have a royal commission does not mean that things cannot be starting to be done in the interim.”

And I am sick of these commissions of enquiry. They achieve nothing of any productive or lasting effect or constructive impact. They are are waste of time and taxpayer money. Lawyers love them. Gives them something to do and an income. Beyond that immaterial.

Well....we all know the end result of most Royal Commissions....lots of recommendations put forward....and then very little actually gets done! But..they do cost millions and everyone involved gets a nice Commission allowance:))
