I don't know exactly why, but I'm enjoying your inclusion of German and the translation. As an English speaker so much is tailored to me, and for some reason hearing you two speak German makes the world seem a bit bigger and more colorful.
I love how you didn't know how to solve the pressure problem, but started anyway. THEN as you glued up the box, the solution presented itself! 😀 What a useful lesson, just start!
I love this project! So elegant! Also i really love this “new” format where you talk a lot more in the video, it’s great to have your thought process . Your older videos were awesome too but this adds another level to it I really enjoy!
Your reaction when you realized you could make a handle between them just totally made my day! I love seeing other people's moments of joy and inspiration.
I recently made a great solution for the large rolls of sandpaper: 1L (Greek) yoghurt buckets. I just cut a slot in the side and pull the end of the roll through. Perfect free sandpaper dispenser. Had them on a bar first, but they unrolled themselves and made a mess.
Excellent! No more rolling sandpaper, and everything in its place. Plus very accessible. Finding solutions to the problem! I really enjoyed watching that, thank you
I love your channel for many reasons. 1. it's awesome to see a female that can fabricate stuff that is so smart and creative that has a LEGIT shop and skills. 2. You're like a kid in a candy store when you figure out how to make something and love it. 3. You're just happy and cool and have great energy. Keep up the good work. From Wyoming USA
Watching your videos, brings me back to when I was younger and my father was setting up his workshop, a lot of the choices your making are very similar to what my father did and it brings me joy to watch you as well as revisit my youth with my father. Thank you, you truly are amazing at what you do, and keep smiling😁
The combination of your ideas and your excitement make these videos a joy to watch. p.s. thanks for letting Smudo run around and be a real man. I mean, dog!
It is wonderful to see your smile as you realize this small incremental change for "quality of life" in the shop. The comparable glee of is the esthetic of a well functioning handle (and needing to share that feeling). One less thing to take away focus from the project you were working on. You have changed my focus that workspace improvement has priority as needs are identified. Thanks!
I didn’t expect this to be so compelling but it was mesmerising. I don’t get a chance to think about 3d solutions to problems in my work life but in my home life stuff breaks and needs repairing all the time and my hacks are very basic. Seeing your elegant approach to a problem I’d just live with is inspiring and taught me a lot along the way.
Watching this in the early morning makes me feel I can take on anything during the day... OK, not as skilled as this, but every little achievement is worth celebrating!
Yes "let glue dry"! This method could apply to the sewers who watch your channel to keep the patterns safe and clean. I love cutting no matter what the media is. Thank you. Birdy
Laura, it means so much to me that you found another guy named Felix to help you there. Now you have 2 guys named felix, one there and one in Nebraska, USA Another one of your mechanical builds that I absolutely love, ingenious, my friend. Thanks for sharing. Felix
I appreciate your enthusiasm for design and function. Your excitement over the result is reward for even the simplest of shop organization projects! Well done!
5:05...the emotion to find the solution. The heart lose a bite. The work can go on in your way. Fantastic moment in a project that!!!!! Great job...as always!
What i love about your Projects is that they’re not over polished. One does not get the impression you spend more time on organizing the workplace, than getting work done, just like it should be. Greetings from Luxembourg to Köln!
so satisfying. my basement workshop has literally no orginazation, no spots for any of the tools and a bunch of hardwood flooring laying around. i need to see what i can do to make it work better im gonna have to clean it and then basically remove all the tools cause man its a disaster. this type of stuff is always helpful for ideas.
Hi 👋 Laura, Those boxes are absolutely awesome 👏! I’m a little bit envious of such a sandpaper little treasure. Really cool project and congratulations for the sparkling fantasy and imagination you have got.
I like this solution a lot. I had laser cut solutions (vertically stacked planes of drawers) in mind previously but I may opt towards something closer to this after seeing the result.
Ich liebs, dass Felix und du so zusammen arbeiten! Ein ganz anderer Flow und noch sympathischer, das denglisch :D Und das Projekt kann sich sehen lassen! Ich denk die ganze Zeit an nen Plattenladen :D
I liked this sandpaper holder / organiser idea. Solves two problems in one. And I really liked your Heureka moment with the clamps. Scratches for Smudo.
I love hearing the conversations and the German! It really showcases aspects of your personality and culture that adds to the video. It's a great recent 'change' I've noticed. Keep it up! Piff paff ;)
I don’t even have a shop right now but you’re thrill of this new project makes me want to go buy that fancy sand paper and build this organizer that doesn’t have a home
This is so smart! I'm a very visual person but I had a though time wrapping my head around the tightening mechanism until you showed it, so cool how your mind works and just comes up with the most amazing solutions
I love this! It reminds me of a older file cabinet drawer that does the same thing! I do love that you referenced records! I still have my vinyl collection! Thank you for the inspiration!
nice system, well done. I've learned to keep (machine) sandpaper in the closed cardboard boxes so that moisture can be absorbed by the cardboard (and stay in the open channels until it evaporates) to save the sandpaper.
🤣😂 Die Sandpaperbox is awesome and the video, too! Like, Like, Like! Bitte weiter so, ihr entwickelt Euch prima weiter. Macht echt Spaß, vielen Dank! 🖖
Love it, great storage solution. I need to find somewhere local that sells the fabric backed stuff. I usually stick ducktape the the back of the paper stuff when trying to sand curves.
INCREDIBLE!! What a beautiful project and video. It was great to watch your design and creation process...not to mention the amazed and happy moments! Fantastic video, loved it. Thanks for sharing!
Simple solution to a problem all makers have I might have to borrow this idea for mine, I hate it when sand paper rolls. You've got me thinking why I've never come up such a genius idea 😂
Oh the look on your face when you tried the handle: it should be a gif for "satisfaction in success, with a hint of smug" 🥰. Also I had a comic vision of you sweeping your shop with your broom after several projects involving nicking a length of the broom, on your knees because its so short. The sandpaper storage looks brilliant!
Wow!!! Seriously, you and Adam have got to be related!!! You both get, I think, more love out of making tool infrastructure than making things!!! And that is AWESOME!!!
love it. I have a good storage system for sheets of sandpaper, but then I struggle with discs, sandling blocks, scraper blades, etc......all the abrasives that aren't nice little sheets!
Perfect! Great video. Love the solution and how it’s inspired by record shopping. I love seeing outside experiences informing solutions like this. Well done!
I don't know exactly why, but I'm enjoying your inclusion of German and the translation. As an English speaker so much is tailored to me, and for some reason hearing you two speak German makes the world seem a bit bigger and more colorful.
Bitte mehr Deutsch zwischendurch 🥰🥰🥰🙏🏻
Same! And I really got a kick out of the subtitles translating "piff paff" in German to "piff paff" in English! 😂
I couldn't say it better!
Laura, the look on your face when you got the idea for the handle was priceless. I had watch it a couple more times before finishing the video.
I love how you didn't know how to solve the pressure problem, but started anyway. THEN as you glued up the box, the solution presented itself! 😀
What a useful lesson, just start!
Yes!!
Yeah. My wall space is a minimum so it will go in a workbench drawer near all the sanding things.
this build had the simple yet self solving fix, and the satisfying fix to the pressure problem lol
As Jimbo from Jimbo's garage would say "I build as I go"
yep. "Just start" is going to have to be my mantra ...
Seriously, there is no person on Earth who loves to make things for things more than Laura.
That might actually be true :)
@@laurakampf I'll humbly throw in Adam Savage as an alternative candidate...
The smile of pride and joy when a project work out is the best thing to see on a maker's face.
I love this project! So elegant! Also i really love this “new” format where you talk a lot more in the video, it’s great to have your thought process . Your older videos were awesome too but this adds another level to it I really enjoy!
Such a successful project! Looks and works great! And 'Perfect Enough' should definitely be on some merch!
Better is the enemy of good.- Lars - Survival Russia
Looking at my curly sand paper sheets thinking "just do what Laura did." Brilliant design as always.
Love the statement"You always go to school on the first one". Great project and I enjoy the out loud thinking you do in German.
Your reaction when you realized you could make a handle between them just totally made my day! I love seeing other people's moments of joy and inspiration.
The ingenuity on display here is why being a patron is so rewarding. Keep making, Laura! 👍🏻
That is the cleanest looking and performing sandpaper organization I have ever seen. Fantastic job Laura!
Excellent solution, the record bin idea is very cool. I loved the lightbulb moment you had when you thought of connecting the two clamps together!
i love how you just figure things out on the fly. And get really excited to get to it.
Got gangrene in my leg, so waiting on the sofa with my leg up high, waiting for the new video from laura is the best way to kill the time : )
Get well soon!
So sorry to hear, take care of yourself. Hope it’s a quick recovery for you.
We don't know each other... But, get well.
Thank you Felix for help with the Shaper! I love when Laura's so excited about a project she forgets to speak in English
I think this might be my favorite build of yours to date. I’m thinking about building one for my 6 inch round sandpaper discs.
Yes! Go for it!
Really cool Laura! I love how you are including the sound of the "let glue dry" block and also I get to learn a bit of German. Great project!
We mere mortals are in awe of such an ingenious and elegant solution to the problem we all have with sandpaper storage.
I recently made a great solution for the large rolls of sandpaper: 1L (Greek) yoghurt buckets. I just cut a slot in the side and pull the end of the roll through. Perfect free sandpaper dispenser.
Had them on a bar first, but they unrolled themselves and made a mess.
Such an excellent design and execution. Finding that the clamp was just an extra help was even better since it gave you extra options.
Excellent! No more rolling sandpaper, and everything in its place. Plus very accessible. Finding solutions to the problem! I really enjoyed watching that, thank you
I love how the translation incorporates different understandings of "family friendly" across cultural differences 🙂
I didn’t want to watch a video on a sandpaper holder.
I watched it and now I think I’ll watch it again. 👍✌️😍🤓
Even if you didn’t need to stop the curling, this is just the coolest! And yes, God bless you Smudo!!❤️
I re-watched this again & I have to say the solution to this problem is... _chef kiss_ !

Whenever you feel sad or have a bad day, just watch a Laura video, and you'll feel better instantly 😊
The combination of your ideas and your excitement make these videos a joy to watch. p.s. thanks for letting Smudo run around and be a real man. I mean, dog!
I know that feeling when you feel all giddy about how well something turned out :) Great idea, great execution and very enjoyable video!
It is wonderful to see your smile as you realize this small incremental change for "quality of life" in the shop.
The comparable glee of is the esthetic of a well functioning handle (and needing to share that feeling).

Thanks!
Very creative but my favorite part is just seeing you so excited about it.
I didn’t expect this to be so compelling but it was mesmerising. I like how you go about solving a problem. As you describe the problem I come up with a solution in my head and your solution is always different.
Seriously clever , and who doesn’t like record shops ..... never a minute wasted looking for new music 👍
Watching this in the early morning makes me feel I can take on anything during the day... OK, not as skilled as this, but every little achievement is worth celebrating!
Not only is the project beautiful, but I'm so jealous of your sandpaper collection!
Yes "let glue dry"! This method could apply to the sewers who watch your channel to keep the patterns safe and clean. I love cutting no matter what the media is. Thank you.

I think all wood workers have thought of doing something like this. You actually did it. I think it came out great, good job.
The cardboard separator and labels with nice tape gave me as much joy as the beginning part of the build! Love elegant stuff like that.
Love the mechanism and love the final shape of them. Looks great on the wall
I love how your brilliant mind works. You never cease to come up with unconventional ideas that work really well. Kudos!
I love the aha erlebnis when you figured out the handle. I've had those moments where it just clicks, and they feel great!
I was having kind of a bad time and just from watching Laura being so happy I got a lot better.
Watching you improve your workspace calms me.
Laura, it means so much to me that you found another guy named Felix to help you there. Now you have 2 guys named felix, one there and one in Nebraska, USA
Another one of your mechanical builds that I absolutely love, ingenious, my friend.
Thanks for sharing. Felix
Your exuberance and pure joy when a project comes together is amazing. Fertile minds will save the world. Thank you.
I love when a maker/restorer does things for themselves, especially when you see it again in a later video and go, "oh yeah, I remember that".
That is a truly brilliant project. Hits the spot in every way - those clamps couldn't have been more perfect for the job.
Just love how you think of these ideas. Brilliant project and the smile on your face when it all works so well is priceless.
What i love about your Projects is that they’re not over polished. One does not get the impression you spend more time on organizing the workplace, than getting work done, just like it should be.
Greetings from Luxembourg to Köln!
Absolute genius! This is the best shop idea I’ve seen in a few years 👍👍👍
Good Sunday morning 🌞👋🏾
so satisfying. my basement workshop has literally no orginazation, no spots for any of the tools and a bunch of hardwood flooring laying around. i need to see what i can do to make it work better im gonna have to clean it and then basically remove all the tools cause man its a disaster. this type of stuff is always helpful for ideas.

I so love it when you are instantly pleased by your own work. You ought to be.
Making your shop more efficient is my favorite content honestly
This project is genius and I love the look of it. It also reminded me of the record store bins.
This was such a beautiful design, my goodness
Hi 👋 Laura, Those boxes are absolutely awesome 👏! I’m a little bit envious of such a sandpaper little treasure. Really cool project and congratulations for the sparkling fantasy and imagination you have got.
I like this solution a lot. I had laser cut solutions (vertically stacked planes of drawers) in mind previously but I may opt towards something closer to this after seeing the result.
Brilliant design as always! I love hearing you speaking more german in the videos these days, as well. Adds a nice authenticity to the videos.

respekt!
That’s an awesome idea. I was skeptical at first when you decided to choose those clamps but it worked out perfectly and looks good too.
I don’t even have a shop right now but you’re thrill of this new project makes me want to go buy that fancy sand paper and build this organizer that doesn’t have a home
I would have thought your solution would involve a spring...but the clamp is sooooo much cooler! A really nice end result! Well Done!
This is so smart! I'm a very visual person but I had a though time wrapping my head around the tightening mechanism until you showed it, so cool how your mind works and just comes up with the most amazing solutions
it´s so nice that you can work with the wooden clamps so easily, just glue it in place how you need it 😍
Laura, you are an absolute treat to watch! Cool seeing Felix step up to the plate as well, great video!
God bless you, Smoodle. 💖
J'adore le moment ( 5'06") quand te vient l'idée. C'est genial d'assister a la creation en direct. Encore du bon travail comme toujours .
Merci Laura😉

Danke für dein Feedback Stephan! 🙂
Dem ist nichts mehr hinzu zu fügen. Ein denglischer Thumb hoch. Piff Paff 😂
So sweet, you can really tell Laura found a really cool solution and it made her day 🤘
This is genius and your joy is contagious!!
Great video as usual. FWIW, you can sort and store sheets of sandpaper in foolscap expanding files. I've done this for years. Works well.
Das ist ja mal eine richtig gute Idee. Ich habe auch immer das Problem mit sich wellenden Schleifpapier. Danke für´s teilen, Laura!
Love it, great storage solution. I need to find somewhere local that sells the fabric backed stuff. I usually stick ducktape the the back of the paper stuff when trying to sand curves.
Ok, it is not the not rolling up, it is not the "having it organized", it is definitely the Record store feeling why you love it so much!
INCREDIBLE!! What a beautiful project and video. It was great to watch your design and creation process...not to mention the amazed and happy moments! Fantastic video, loved it. Thanks for sharing!
Ahh, the feeling of designing something to make your life easier in your workshop and just end up spot on ...
Great job ! :)
Simple solution to a problem all makers have I might have to borrow this idea for mine, I hate it when sand paper rolls. You've got me thinking why I've never come up such a genius idea 😂
Nice infrastructure build, Laura - and it is always a good Sunday when the Let Glue Dry block makes an appearance ;)
Love this one LK it’s great to see how your mind creates solutions to the smallest issues just some ply wood, clamps, glue and piff paff job done 💕
Oh the look on your face when you tried the handle: it should be a gif for "satisfaction in success, with a hint of smug" 🥰. Also I had a comic vision of you sweeping your shop with your broom after several projects involving nicking a length of the broom, on your knees because its so short. What a smart design, I really love those and it's so nice to see how pleased you are with it too ☺️
You are so imaginative and creative, I am thrilled! Ich liebe es !!!

love it. I have a good storage system for sheets of sandpaper, but then I struggle with discs, sandling blocks, scraper blades, etc......all the abrasives that aren't nice little sheets!
Really like when You, Laura, speak German, it's add nice and natural differentiation.
Perfect! Great video. Love the solution and how it’s inspired by record shopping. I love seeing outside experiences informing solutions like this. Well done!
the broomstick handle was beautiful in design and make!
