My favorite part of this is realizing that after years of making stuff, Bob is still just now getting around to organizing basic materials, makes me feel better about the state of my shop :D
Thanks Bob, very well thought out. I know you do the channel thing to feed the family, but also for your passion to teach, and we all benefit for it. Thanks.
Many thanks for the idea on storing RO discs upright stacked left to right with labelled separators, with sheets stored flat underneath. I'm sorting out concepts for various grits and shapes of sandpaper and this was exactly the concept I needed to save space. Such a simple idea but it never would have occurred to me.
As usual, cool project Bob. I like the idea of the loose discs dividers rather than fixed ones. That solve the problem of how big a gap should be left for those frequently 180-220 grit used ones and how little for the less frequently used ones. Simple solution to that problem. And of course all other storages incorporated in one. Thanks for the video Bob.
I really like the nod to my euro-brethren and I about the dado! I often have difficulties with differences in tooling etc around the world. Keep up the good work guys!!
what we had in shop class at highschool was a hacksaw blade mounted to a board that worked well for cutting straight lines in your sandpaper and rarely dulled. it also had lines and a stop for when you were cutting for certain sizes depending on what you needed the paper for
The P.I. Workshop This past year the class made tool boxes for the 7th and 8th grade science teacher to put markers, glue, and color pencils in. They also made 2 comp book shelf's for a math teacher. I have the students make thing for other people first then something small for themselves.
Iv been needing to make this for a long time, and now I dont have to think about it. Fantastic design im totally making this for my shop. Thank you and am going to look for the plans on your site
Great idea.! Will probably make a few of the lower slots removable to configure some additional sheet sizes. Really like that it has a spot for the sanding sponges. And most definitely love Josh photo-bombing you in the background - "nothing to see here; moving along."
I like it! If I give it a go, the one thing I'm going to add is a sight window in the sanding block shoot. That way I know how many I have left when I decide to start purging old blocks.
I’m excited to make this! I like winging it on shop stuff, particularly organization, but that is a spectacular design! Also, if anyone is interested in using a 3-d printer, a lot of public libraries have them available to members. They need to be reserved, but they’re available in most cities.
Super cool Bob! I know shop projects aren’t really your favorite but I feel I get more inspired to upgrade my shop with these videos than say a giant Optimus Prime gun(that was still a fun video to watch)
That is an awesome addition to any shop! There is a similar version on Pinterest for dispensing tape. They used hardboard for the sides and what looks to be a piece of 1"x2" pine in the front and back. The rolls of various tape roll are in individual dispensers put are hung together. You can see the 1/4 of each roll and using a hack saw blade cut up into pieces and then screwed to the front of each one. I think they used one or two washers against the pine, then the saw blade section and then screwed on. It is nice if you only want to use double-sided tape, you remove just that roll and the rest stay on the wall or cart.
Hey bob, I find that cutting sandpaper from the backing, then even ripping the last bit through the grit, helps with prolonging the blade life when cutting sandpaper. I’ve also used a relatively blunt knife in that way to cut sandpaper Never mind you cut it from the back anyway
Awesome project! I use mostly blocks of different shapes and sizes for my everyday uses. I usually cut my full sheets into 4 small squares for ready to use pieces! Totally going to adapt a project like this just also including storage for smaller pieces.
I like your cutter idea, I've also seen it done with a hacksaw blade mounted just barely off of the surface because it won't dull as quickly and you can just tear it like a piece of wax paper.
My suggestion would be to add a vertical groove in the bottom of the side sanding block covers so you could see how many are left. Neat project - well contained.
If you start to go through the circular blades...you could make a small slot in wood for a razor blade guide? This way there is no special blade needed...just the Maker Knife that is in everyone's pocket :) Always enjoy the videos Bob!
Yet another item I was literally just thinking about making the other day to make my shop life easier.. coincidences are fun! Keep up the great work :D
Yet again, I begin watching this video with the thought, “Let’s see how Bob built this.” And now at the end of the video, I’m thinking, “I should build that. It would be very useful in my shop.” Well done Bob. Your inventiveness and skills and brainwashed me again. Hahaha
great video, excellent design and production quality. I find it humorous on the cutter - while clever and fun, it is a lot of effort to not have a pair of scissors. thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video - the content and production quality were top notch. The use of the super glue is fascinating. I am guessing it is to give some immediate hold while the main glue dries.
The intro was so seemless I didn't notice it until after the video, reading the comments! Nice work guys! PS. seeing the sanding blocks grind against each other makes me medley uncomfortable, but awesome idea!
Love shop organizer projects. It was an interesting design solution to the sand paper organization/storage problem. Thanks for sharing. Loved seeing 3d printing being mashed with more traditional woodworking. I don't think I would do the blade cutting (I would tweak my build with a jig for tearing against a straight edge) but I learned some things how you designed the holder and rail mounts.
For the cutter I use a hexa blade and screw it flat to the board. Cutting sandpaper with shape blade won't last long since the blade will be sand down apparently :)
Finally, I found someone making something out of MDF I get it's not the greatest material, but I have about 12 full sheets taking up space in my garage that I need to find uses for
I have a folio that I keep the sheets I use for metal polishing. From 220 to 2000 in paper and cloth. I take the folio to the work and put each grit back as I finish with it. It saves a lot of steps and time.
My favorite part of this is realizing that after years of making stuff, Bob is still just now getting around to organizing basic materials, makes me feel better about the state of my shop :D
Man that intro is so cool! My favorit part of this sandpaper organizer is how easy you can cut it by length
Agreed, loved that camera trick in the intro
@@danpeikes I try to do something simular in my videos but this was really good. I could learn from this.
Thanks Bob, very well thought out. I know you do the channel thing to feed the family, but also for your passion to teach, and we all benefit for it. Thanks.
Thanks Jim! I really appreciate that!
I learned that however you think your shop is well organized... It's never enough.
Amazing!
Love that first transition
Love how the intro is getting cooler and cooler
Hey Bob, I LOVE your channel!
You are my first goto for ideas!
Never stop my friend!
Nice job bob. A S.H.O.D.T should be a part of every workshop. It’s on my list.
That is by far the best sandpaper organizer I’ve ever seen! Extremely well thought out and executed even better!
As usual, cool project Bob. I like the idea of the loose discs dividers rather than fixed ones. That solve the problem of how big a gap should be left for those frequently 180-220 grit used ones and how little for the less frequently used ones. Simple solution to that problem. don't know why.... but watching your videos I feel really better. Thanks!
I really like the nod to my euro-brethren and I about the dado! I often have difficulties with differences in tooling etc around the world. Keep up the good work guys!!
I once took a sanding class. The coarse was rough but my grade was fine.
omg
XD
That class sounds grit-ty
I’m done.
Dad? Is that you?
Okay, that intro edit was crisp. Me gusta. The organizer looks like it'd work really well, too, very tidy and easy to see what you have.
that initial sandpaper editiing trick was a lot more complex than i initially thought, looks actually really convincing at full speed, nice one bob
what we had in shop class at highschool was a hacksaw blade mounted to a board that worked well for cutting straight lines in your sandpaper and rarely dulled. it also had lines and a stop for when you were cutting for certain sizes depending on what you needed the paper for
Shop projects are the best!
I always just used a mounted hacksaw blade to tear the paper. I like the cutter idea.
Awesome build and intro!! The addition of sandpaper cutter with the 3-D printed parts is a really cool feature!
Agreed
I love your Sandpaper Holder Integrated Transporter! 😁
I got amazed mainly by two things:
-The alternate glueing whith wood glue and dots of CA glue
-the 3d printed cutting device. So smart!
This would be great in my wood shop class.
I'd give you an A if you made something for the class to make future classes better.
The P.I. Workshop This past year the class made tool boxes for the 7th and 8th grade science teacher to put markers, glue, and color pencils in. They also made 2 comp book shelf's for a math teacher. I have the students make thing for other people first then something small for themselves.
I love it. Just now getting the hubby to let me have my shop and all of your builds are awesome. Thanks for all the ideas and tips/tricks.
That intro was epic! I LOVE IT! Thank you for the plans!
Love that way of storing the disks! I stacked mine up, but you get so many more in the same amount of space with that design. Nice job, Bob!
Iv been needing to make this for a long time, and now I dont have to think about it. Fantastic design im totally making this for my shop. Thank you and am going to look for the plans on your site
The intros keep getting better and better!
Intros keep getting better and better!!

Bob really really thank you!! you gave me the courage to start and build stuff!!waiting for other new videos
Fantastic work, Bob!!! 😃
That intro was AWESOME!!
Great Job Bob !
I like your projects .
Very nice intro Bob! Got super excited when I got the notification that you uploaded.
ha ha ^^ me too
Good design, straight forward build.
That was a big improvement!!
One box to keep them all !! "Lord of the Grits" :)
I’m excited to make this! I like winging it on shop stuff, particularly organization, but that is a spectacular design!

Nice job Bob!
Super cool Bob!

Nice organizer Bob! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
I was just talking about needing a system to organize my sand paper!
Might have to give this a shot!!

Glad to finally start seeing the transition to sandpaper asmr
This is so neat! I’ll try to make something like this for my dad’s office for Father’s Day.
Minus the dados
Great video as always, Bob!

Best (first) S.H.O.D.T ever . Great Work Bob !!
Very Cool sandpaper Organizer !!!!! I need to make one of thesis for my shop. Thanks for the knowledge Sir
I like your cutter idea, I've also seen it done with a hacksaw blade mounted just barely off of the surface because it won't dull as quickly and you can just tear it like a piece of wax paper.
The 3D printed cutting attachment... worth the price of admission!
I tell you what ! this is a great work continue like this and you are a very smart person.
O, sweet! I'm totally building one of these for my shop. Love it! 👍
It’s so cool how you are so talented and can make amazing things.
I wish I could have that talent.
Great build as always! Using a sacrificial piece attached to your fence will allow you to cut rabbets against it. Keep up the great work!
Great build, guys!
Nice simple build people could apply to all kinds of things. Cheers.
I must have this in my life. That's it...I'm stealing it. LOL Nice work!

Love it! Can't wait to have a workshop like yours.
Really awesome project
Yet another item I was literally just thinking about making the other day to make my shop life easier.. coincidences are fun! Keep up the great work :D
That was a great video. I have never thought of using the ca glue with the wood glue like that.. great idea..
Yet again, I begin watching this video with the thought, “Let’s see how Bob built this.” And now at the end of the video, I’m thinking, “I should build that. It would be very useful in my shop.”
Well done Bob. Your inventiveness and skills and brainwashed me again. Hahaha
I want to get more sandpaper just to make this! Great action man!
Good Idea. And well made!
great video, excellent design and production quality.
I find it humorous on the cutter - while clever and fun, it is a lot of effort to not have a pair of scissors.
thanks for the video.
Nicely done.
Holy Cow- cool and easy to use. Love the cutter idea, super nice. Keep-em coming. Thanks for sharing! :)
Alright, thats really cool! Great design !!👍👍👍
Thanks for the video - the content and production quality were top notch.
The use of the super glue is fascinating. I am guessing it is to give some immediate hold while the main glue dries.
Yup, it's a handy way to be able to keep working 👍🏼
Great design!
I love this channel it gives me ideas to do this for myself
The intro was so seemless I didn't notice it until after the video, reading the comments! Nice work guys!
PS. seeing the sanding blocks grind against each other makes me medley uncomfortable, but awesome idea!
7:33 I love how Josh is walking in the background with that face
Thanks for the great idea.
I will definetly build something like this.
Greatings from Germany
Tim
I love the new intros you have been doing! They are amazing!
Was thinking it would be quite funny if he had also switched shirts or something else... For the Eagle eyed viewers among us :P

Really nice organizer! Thanks for sharing. :)
Mister Sandmann ... good Job
7:35 - Reminds me of that scene in Signs when the alien walks across that alley.
Dood, that’s exactly what I was thinking!!! I was going to post a comment about it but you beat me to the punch!! Haha 😂

great little project. I need to work on some shop organization.
Much like miter saw suggestions, should do more as things in the shop often change, good job!
Damn what a design. Great work👍🏻
Ultimate Build...👌👌👌
Maybe this will get me to finally organize my sandpaper. Action Man!
Funny enough, something like this was already on my list for this weekend. Great video. Great ideas. I think I may make this one.
Great project and it’s awesome to see innovative ideas!
Fantastic Idea :)
This was such an AWESOME project. I need this in my life!!! Thanks gang!
I really like your idea. I haven’t used sanding blocks but if I build it I’ll have to get some lol.
Thanks
Damn, that was a real smooth opening shot!
