    One of my favorite garages ever. Love that everything was either repurposed, second hand or custom built. However when he said "time to put the car where it belongs", i kind of him wanted to throw it in reverse and get on the street, not go park it back inside the garage! ;)

      I’m genuinely not sure what I’m more impressed with, the build quality of the car or the build quality of the workshop...... everything is so immaculate and looks like it’s right where it belongs, even if it was all pieced together second hand 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    One cool dude. His story is more interesting then guys who buys expensive cars and tools just because they have the money. Jack represents 90% of guys out there who loves DIY, and cars and have a limited budget. I'm never tired watching this video over and over.

    No 800 to 1000hp,No turbo's, No restomod look,no changing of a bunch of body panels ? What are you doing? I luv the vehicle,this is the true nature of a car for a car guy, uniquely delivering a vehicle to your specifications, Specking out the car to fit your use of it, personal enjoyment! Great Car!

    I love how it’s a story of a real car that’s actually driven in an environment that is set up for use and actually gets it. U can tell he gets it…. He u understands the spirit and characteristics of that vehicle are part of a whole instead of just fast lap times. This was awesome.

    i remember seeing jack's "12 gauge garage" video a long time ago and at the time i also had an old 20x20 garage that i was trying to do a similar thing with - unfortunately i did not have the same luck finding old cabinets and such that he did, but i was happy with the result - and i resonate 100% with his ethos for the build. the efficiency, and bespoke nature of it - it is built for him and his desires (the 37" work surface height, for example). my son and i visited the petersen museum last month for the first time (we live in canada so it's a wee bit of a trek), and i had no idea jack and his awesome garage were so close by. thanks for this video, and an absolutely stellar museum! we had a great time and will be back the next time we're in LA. and to jack - keep up your relentless pursuit of both car and driver improvement, and your unpretentious attitude.

    I am all in on what you have done with the car AND the shop. I did not buy a performance car until I was 68. I had gone to automotive school after high School at Denver Automotive and Diesel but life got in the way. While buying and selling cars to fix and sell , before and during the FLU , I wound up buying a Salvage title 2008 Bullitt Mustang and it is now my BABY. Always loved the look of the early 911's and you have done a FINE JOB !!!

    I live in a 1 bed apt. I put my clothes in the linen closet and used my bedroom closet for my workshop. I have everything I need in there. Keep rearranging it and fit more stuff.. welder, welding table, tool chest, power tools, metal stock, on and on. I would DIE for your shop!! Ps, I take it outside when I work, I'm not welding in my closet!!

    Since to my knowledge he didn't say it, for those wondering those are Nitto 371080 NT01 tires. He has them in an aggressively wide configuration. Quite handsome and uselful for what he's doing.

    • @JackOlsen
      @JackOlsen 2 роки тому +1

      Yes. The Nittos are not exactly new tech, when it comes to tires. But I get something like 8 track events out of them on this car -- and as you point out, the 315/255 width means more tire than you would typically put on a 270-hp car. I built the thing for less-aggressive (streetable) tires.

It had a 2.4 eng when I got it and it was up graded to a 2.7 mechanicaly injected race engine worked with Jerry Woods in San Jose to balance the engine my oil cooler was run to the front with a RSR front and rear bumpers. Hope to see you at the track or autocross some day. Good luck with yours I'm with Zone 7 PCA. Hope to get a chance to visit Petersen Automotive some day.

How do you keep that off in your case ?

    Great to see a useable Porsche most of the time they are pristine and pampered barely ever used and or driven. What is the point of having a beautiful automobile if you don't drive it. Wayne Carini and Jay Leno are two collectors that drive their cars and don't treat them like museum displays.
