Page ALWAYS ad libbed their songs live. Plant as well. The song is form 1971. the concert was from 1973. The film this was released on came out in 1976. If you want your mind blown, do Since I've Been Loving You from the same concert.
I'm not a guitarist but I really enjoyed your reaction for a couple of reasons. While all four of the guys were supremely talented, I really enjoy hearing/watching Page play guitar. I particularly like that you know the studio version of this song, thus can recognize and appreciate the deviations from it during this live version. That brings me to this notion. Have you watched them perform "Dazed and Confused" during this same concert? Nearly 30 minutes long and talk about Page going into another zone! It's other-worldly. I'd really like to hear what a guitarist thinks about his performance, as well as how the other three band members were were able to go right along with him no matter where he went. Talk about musicians in a band being on the same wave length! Yowsa! I agree about Jones. Have you listened to "The Rain Song"? Jones' work constructing the orchestral parts on a mellotron was fabulous, and Page's guitar playing is quite beautiful. I do recommend the studio version if you haven't heard the song yet because what they did in studio was difficult to entirely replicate during live performances. Thanks again for a very enjoyable reaction. I'll go back and watch your other reactions to Led Zeppelin, and looking forward to even more! Edit: Also, if you haven't watched their live performance of "In My Time of Dying" during their '75 Earls Court concert, it's amazing. Page goes all out on the guitar (when doesn't he) using a slide. Sublime.
I love the Rain Song. Favorite song of theirs. And those live performances that you mentioned would be great to see again. There will definitely be more Zep videos for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting!

L'assolo più bello , molto di più di quello in studio

@@mattlovesguitar12 That would be great. I've watched reactions by guitarists to LZ's studio cuts, but not so much to live performances. :)
Jimmy's 29 here and he's the oldest, Plant 24
Yet so wise, deep and experienced.
Page turns 80 in January.
jimmy just went to some other place and let the music just flow through him
Shhhh...!
And, you ruined the zone.
Jimmy 73 cannot be touched
JPJ could not sing!
