Normally, I don’t like to hear talking over the music, but in your case, I enjoyed hearing your detailed analysis of this performance, and particularly the complexities of David Gilmour’s guitar work. Thank you!

Those second solo triplets are just iconic Gilmour and just brilliant and you're the only reactor I've ever heard mention them. I just love this song and you're analysis is spot on

Guy Pratt is an excellent bass player; he also married Rick Wright's daughter, Gala. Great analysis of this great song and guitar solo by David Gilmour.

This version is also cut down.

Great reaction! Saw them on this tour twice in one week, once just wasn't enough. Some 30 years later still one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen.

Great description of what David is doing on his guitar, thank you! Your voice has a great tone ( not annoying) while the song is playing. He is a guitar master.

You've just witnessed greatness. But I suspect you already knew that. I saw the tour live when it came to Soldier Field in Chicago summer of '94. As good as the video is, it does not do the live experience justice. The sound the lights the wattage goes through you. Transcendent.

By far the best live video of this song.
David has so much feeling in his solos its like he is letting the guitar tell the story.

i saw AMLOR tour just before pulse, where they were showcasing the same stage show, this still one of the best solos of all time, they are that good every-time. the show leaves you in a heightened state of overwhelming numbness afterwords, your brain is still catching up and going it doesn't get better than what you just witnessed on you visual audio senses.

You can hear music and you can hear Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd takes you on another higher Level of Music. There are so many great Songs you must hear. Echoes live from Pompeii , Run like hell, Sorrow, One of these days, Time. All from the Pulse Album. Then you must hear the Album Wish You Were and Here The Dark side of the moon.

Hi, Roger Waters was out of the band in 1985, the new bassist is Guy Pratt. Waters then tried to stop Pink Floyd by legal action over the next few years, to no avail. The next album from Pink Floyd was A momentary Lapse Of Reason. a brilliant Album. i flew from here in Australia just for this concert, a life changing event iv'e been a Floydie for 50 yrs now and after hearing Wish You Were Here,i taught myself to play guitar. This was a brilliant concert and went on the friday and saturday night PERFECTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave wrote the music to this song on an acoustic guitar for a solo album but didn't use it. Gave it to Roger who wrote the lyrics this is their last concert tour with 14 days in a row sold out at Earl's Court. Saw this 5 fives inside and outside. Outside needed FAA clearance for lasers. Disco ball is a FU to music critics who said Pink Floyd would not make it cause they don't play dance music.

Yes, Waters left not long after The Wall. And while he was a masterful lyricist, most of the musical brilliance was from Gilmour and Wright. Their light shows were always spectacular. I saw them live in 1976. For a fabulous example of Gilmour's talent, watch this from his tour with Richard, just before Richard passed away:
ua-cam.com/video/rU_k8BNCcOM/v-deo.html (High Hopes - David Gilmour live @ Gdansk 2006) He is accompanied by the entire string section of the Polish Orchestra, and does two solos: one on the lap steel and a truly angelic outro on the acoustic.

I would highly, highly recommend any live version of Steve Vai 'Whispering A Prayer' for some of the most beautiful note bending ever. He can bring a cord back from the dead and keep it for eternity...

To answer your question Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985. He then sued Pink Floyd because he felt since he left the band it should no longer exist. He lost the case.. Let's just say he and Gilmour are not real close.

Guy Pratt is a trillion times better bass player than that psychopath who played bass before him.

    • @marioc.3102

Yes, Guy Pratt is certainly a better bass player, but he is not a genius like the one who played bass before him and without whom Pink Floyd would never have become the legend they are
