Thank you so much for this video!! I’m 22 and trying to make my own massive arches for my mini. Doing the front was horrible enough and I couldn’t find any other videos disassembling the rear, so you’re video is a holy grail!!! Thank you sir
When you rebend the arch lip once its roughly right use a dolly and hammer to perfect the edge it defines it as original. Good work on the tubbing of the arch keep the videos coming buddy Rob
you prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Jesse Stetson i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Love the video. Of course I just painted my car and now kicking myself for not doing this during the body work phase. Question is do you think the spot welder would heat up the panel to much to mess up my paint job?
Hi mate, great video ! Something I plan on doing when the lockdown is over and I can get back to my mini that’s in storage. The scribing tool you’ve made is a great idea. If you have the time could you send me some dimensions for making one. I have a few bits of steel in the garage somewhere I could probably make one out of and keep myself busy for a few hours during lockdown. Cheers
Well , i think the easy way to make one is look at the basic shape of the one in this video , as long as the point is dead level with the part you put up in the top of the arch AND the cut out clears the arch youve done it !
Difficult question to answer , i mean every mini wheel would fit up to lets say a 13x7 with its correct tyre but potentially you could probably sit a 15” wheel with a 35/40 series tyre ? But that wouldnt look right in my opinion .
Krash Karls V8 mini with corvette running gear has huge wheels perhaps 20 inch which do look over the top but perhaps 16 or 17 inch may look in proportion but hard to find anything on the internet with anything over 13 inch
Thats a massively modified car and that’s because you would be looking at different running gear / hubs with different bolt patterns opening up the different wheel options . If you’re on stock mini rear suspension its pretty tricky to find anything over 13” on a mini bolt pattern
@@Xpp. Probably a few years work but it has a certain 'hot wheels car' look which appeals probably better to stick with up to 13 inch and have a social life.
I tip my woolie hat to yer attention to detail bud, that's the difference between a cool project and a magazine worthy beast, like i said the orange mini was all over the net over here. be safe ya'll
Nice video . I'm doing this with a 1988 Toyota 4runner and I have been putting it off for too long now

Cracking job. I've done it myself a few times but seam welded the lip because I don't have a spot welder.
Tim the spannerman .... yeah seam welding it will do it 👍 ...... hope your keeping well buddy ? Dodging all this virus stuff ?
@@Xpp. All is good ta
Hi Paul, really loving this build and looking forward to the next instalment 😃

@Jesse Stetson It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
@Houston Malakai Happy to help xD
Proper helpful video mate cheers
I pray betal with an adjustable end wrench but I like the rod with the slot cut in it I'm going to try that
Its such a simple accurate way of always having the correct depth !
@@Xpp. ya no depth with the wrench when the thumb gauge gets moved it is all guess work lol
Excellent & well explain!
really good how to vid mate
Thanks 👍👍
Neet job mate!

Spot welding is such a localised weld you might just get away with it 🤷♂️

Nice job
Hi Paul, excellent step by step vid, great stuff 😊 Ps... Have you got ya JD yet?
Maybe friday ? May sink a few on friday ?
@@Xpp. Ah, something for the weekend sir 🥴
what would be the biggest diameter wheels with low profile tyres that would go in these arches
