Question: what do you do to the wastegate? I’ve got a 97 12v with a p-pump and I’m installing a 6.0 turbo soon. Should I just plug the wastegate line leading into the afc housing? How will it affect the fueling on the low and high end of boost. TIA!
So if you tapped into the dimmer switch it’s safe to say the vanes don’t take a lot of amperage to operate? Just trying to figure out what style to buy
Sorry if I've missed it somehwere. Would some sort of variable PWM controller work to control the veins? I've been thinking of something like an arduino module that would convert your 5v tps signal to PWM signal so it would work almost exactly like a 6.0 does?
I just finished my 6.0 swap I'm not sure what I did but it doesn't work, with power going to the solenoid the truck makes 15psi flutters horrible pours black smoke and won't accelerate at all
You’ve gotta turn the switch to open and close them , I’ve got an external potentiometer with an on off switch I’m going to wire in I can film it if ya want
Here from TikTok, that’s for making me spend more money 😂
Lmao! Hey man if you end up doing the swap send me some pics and we’ll chat I wanna see other people do it too !
Thank you so much, I don’t really want to screw around with a potentiometer though lol 😂 why di you have to weld the adapter on?
How did you clock the compressor housing to get it closer to the charge air pipe?

I had re routed mine to a bleeder to have afc live basically
I am developing a vane controller that goes off of throttle position. Are you interested in trying it?
Iam
What size flange is the v band for the manifold?

That might work ! Ford does use pwm to control these!
Can you make a list of where to get the adapters? Like the oil line
Oil feed is t3 oil feed line adapter female , 1/2” npt ,
A weld on t3 flange ,
And the vband is on whatever size your downpipe would be

But does it whistle?😮💨
@@dakodaheller5869 . It does make some jet engine noise if that's what I was going for lol
To much work ,what did u gain
Parts list? like what u got for the build and also where?
So, does tapping the potentiometer into the dimmer switch make the vanes work automatically or are you turning the dimmer switch to control the vanes

@@bdollery55 please do. I'm considering a vgt swap for my 24v I'm torn between an he351 and 6.0 vgt
Bryce if you close the vanes all the way does it apply as a exhaust brake like a newer 6.7
@@fenixthehybrid3389 yes it does
Sweet I know my next upgrade for my 12 valve lol
I might be late but whats the max egts. Vs hx35
Perfectttt
Hows your exhaust for the dual
Does exhaust pressure push open the vanes? How do the vanes open up as you keep building boost?
I have mine wired I’m not rigged up with a wastegate actuator , the veins are controlled electronically in my case
@@bdollery55 how’d you wire them electronically. do you have a switch or ?
Also where the wire from dinner runs, and how you actually wired it up.
How much boost does it makes? Is it better than a stock hx35?
Makes 40 pounds , and yes it’s much better than a stock setup
Would an hx40 work for a downpipe
That’s what I have on mine , you just have to weld a 2.75” vband onto the powerstroke turbo
Is there a way I could contact you I have some questions
Message me on ig dollery55
which year is your turbo?
2003
6.0 turbos… perfect for lifting heads…. Or a head 😂
