- For such a little car, the Ford Fiesta has some serious history behind it. First introduced to the UK in 1976, it’s gone on to not only become one of the nation’s best-loved cars, but also officially Britain’s best-selling car. Ever.
The pressure was on for Ford to not mess this new one up, then, and the Fiesta also had a lot of catching up to do particularly in terms of interior and equipment, with many new, better equipped rivals gunning for its ‘best supermini’ crown.
But with the same characteristically spunky drive, a wholly revamped interior and some seriously smart new kit, we reckon the 2017 Fiesta is a much better-rounded car overall and once again justly sits at the top of the small car pile.

It looks to me like ford once again Have cracked it, it looks fantastic and obviously drives very well I personally have not driven a Ford Fiesta since the 90s when they were absolutely woeful but these new ones do seem brilliant and they will sell in their millions cheers Phil.

Thank you mate, very good review. With the Ecoboost 1.0 engine, how good is the pull away if I had 4 people in the car? As in would you say it's nippier than a 1.4 Corsa (with either 4 people or 1). Currently have the Corsa but looking to get this years model in Jan. Thanks.

I bought a "15" plate pre-owned titanium diesel focus 7500 on clock for the same money as this zetec new fiesta . Why have small but beautifully formed , when the bigger fun-mobile is an option ??
The previous one always had soft touch materials on the dashboard. I don't know why the big fuss about it in this new one. The only thing in the interior that got a massive improvement was the infotainment screen, because when the MK7 was launched there wasn't any superminis with decent infotainment screens. I prefer the 2009 one (not the restyling) than this one in all regards, why do i need a fancy infotainment screen if my phone is actualy better than it anyway...
Which version can park itself?
Eh what? "You've NOW got soft touch materials up here" ? The dash on the outgoing model is softer than the new one..

Looks good especially the new dash. I like the front end but understand the is subjective. £300 extra for Sat nav on the zetec model is a but steep. Back end OK but I wish they had copied the rear end of the mk1 focus which was elegant and functional
Sat nav is now standard on the zetec. Ford finance £250 a month with an annual milage limit of 6000
2:29 Fucking hell, 2017 and Ford still doesn't include rear electric windows as standard

Dose anyone know what mpg this car gets I heard 60 mpg on run and 70 mpg I do a lot of travelling would help thanks thinking of buying one ??
Much prefer the look of the old one but would rather have the interior of this one the exterior on this one looks like a people carrier
I love the fiesta so much that I’ve just bought another. As far as safety’s concerned, after being involved in a serious car accident in a fiesta, I can honestly say this is the safest small car I’ve ever been in. Recommend
they have facelifted them also the puma is taking away sales but no longer in top 10 best sellers

The rear space is still the same regardless of how many doors it has.

I often wonder seeing I am an Australian watching this whether other people all over Britain understand each others dialects within Britain or is it difficult for you as well , because to me this bloke talks so fast and with his regional accent I am struggling to understand what he is saying , so are you Brits used to each others accents and understand each other ?
Hi Bruce, yeah over here, especially in Liverpool, it's so cultural that it's rare to walk 5 minutes down the road without bumping into someone with a different accent to your own so we're all pretty much used to it by now. We'll make sure Ryan stops drinking RedBull before shoots from now on though ;)
I'm American and understand just fine =) BTW, I like the Australian and the British accents.

Ford fanboy all my life... until I met my wife and drove her SEAT Leon. Would take an all new Ibiza with one of Seat's turbo Petrols over this Granny caddy any day of the week If I didn't already own one... which I do. On my third Seat now, Owned An Ibiza, Leon Fr and now an Ateca Xcellence. Solid Punchy Engines, Classy tech packed interiors, & easily the sharpest looking cars on the road. Sorry Ford! XD

ZETEC?
Very disappointed with this car. No comfort in the passenger's seat. Seat too high and no way of adjusting this despite what the sales guy told us. Not possible to adjust the headrest. Had to drive on a rather bad road today with quite a few bumps and potholes, and I've never felt that 'shaken' in a car. And there's no grab handle either above the window, so it was hard to stabilize. It's now a few hours later and my neck still hurts. Nothing like that ever happened in our old car (Polo). My husband had his eyes set on this car and it seemed great, and during the test drive, even though the seats felt a bit hard, we didn't realize how uncomfortable the car would be because we were driving on a smooth road and rather slowly. Now we are stuck with it for 3.5 years. We were making plans to travel more, but this might not happen now, not with this car anyway. If my comment can help anyone avoid this experience, at least that'll be something.
I find the lumbar support so uncomfortable! Bought a backrest off amazon hoping it'll do the job🤞
The 1.0L Ecoboost engine is the worst "small" engine I have ever experienced. VW and Peugeot do a much more refined job with their variants.

It looks so much more generic than the old car. The old car was instantly recognizable as a Fiesta. This could from a far just as well be a KIA

Literally everything about it is objectively better besides the exterior, which is subjective, so why is it ruined?
ShroomWalrus I like all of it apart from the exterior styling.
Indeed, the exterior is not as aggressive as the old model but its timeless! its better looking in person I can tell you that. If I were to buy a fiesta I would chose the new model as I spend most of my time inside the vehicle and the fiesta just rocks the interior compared to the old model! I might be getting old, but thats just my opinion! I managed to get a photoshop picture of the new model where it is lower 35mm and put on some bola b1 rims! Looks rather nice imo- ibb.co/mSvCM5
