There is a water bottle that fits from the brand Primus called Klunken wich is designed for the sidepockets of the Kånken
There are a few water bottles that fit,Primus klunken fit great and small chilly ones(skinny one)
I am able to fit my slim hydroflask and an umbrella in the side pockets.
Hi! I’ve not seen this model before. I wish I had. Love it! I have their regular version in blue gray. I love the bag, but those unpadded straps cut into my shoulder. It’s my only beef. I will buy a copy this model next. Re: lint…roller it! Works great. Thanks for sharing!!
I totally agree! The unpadded straps are NOT the best. And yes, I do agree that the cure for lint is to roller it... but man, I have a hard enough time remembering to lint roller myself!
You can buy the pads seperately, I got a pair for my re kanken and it is perfectly comfortable with them!
I bought the smaller version of the No.2 Black series approx 5 years back and now here I am, wanting to get the laptop version simply cause they have 2 more zip pockets. 😅The laptop compartment would be perfect to store cash and passport while traveling IMO.
Hi! I would like to buy the No.2 black mini to use as a daily purse. However, some people have said theirs turned brown in a few months. I would hate that! How is the colour on yours holding up? Has it faded at all? Also, does it attract a lot of dirt/lint etc? If it fades and is constantly dirty, I may choose a rekanken instead, but the material is soooo stiff, noisy, and not rain proof, so I am torn! Don't want to make an expensive mistake! Thanks 😊
I’m saving up for a 15” and classic kanken and plan to buy water bottle pockets with them. The classic kanken will be used as a daypack for theme parks/days out so I have everything on me and the 15” kanken will be used for college

The Kanken no. 2 15" laptop has been updated and the new version has bigger side pockets, so now it can fit a classic bottle ! I’ve tried with a 500ml Chilly’s bottle, it fits perfectly !

Hi! Thanks for the review! Have you experienced any colour fade at all? I really want a mini no.2 black to use as a daily purse, but some people have said theirs turned brown within a few months. I know I will not want to use it if this happens and it's too expensive if that's the case. Yours seems to be holding up well? If it's just a travel bag for you, perhaps you don't use it that often though, so it is lasting longer? I do have a chronically shedding white dog as well lol. How much does the bag attract dirt/stains? Thank you 😊
Hello and thanks for watching! You’re right: I’ve actually stopped using the bag every day so it doesn’t get much wear and tear. Mine has held up, but I have seen bags with severe fading. They do seem to turn gray quickly. The material also does seem to attract pet hair quickly too… 😬
is the depth really only 13 centimeter? I need have place a smaller camera bag inside of it which has a depth of 15.6 cm.
Depth of the classic version is 13 cm. Of the laptop version, shown here, it is 16 cm.

Hello there! Thanks for watching. I do not wax my bag at all. However, I have noticed that the bag does pick up quite a bit of lint and dust so I wonder if waxing might help it be more waterproof. Hope that helps!

Last question, have you noticed fading? I've read it a lot that Kanken tends to fade especially if it's always exposed to direct sunlight.
@@lamariachristine yes, sadly I have noticed fading. It doesn’t bother me too much though.
@@WellBehavedWallet Waxing it will make it a lot more water-resistant and robust, but it will start picking up even more lint and hair because the wax is a bit sticky.
Does it have padding on the bottom for the laptop? Afraid to put it down on the ground with the laptop and dinging it
Hi! I have the exact same model, I got it in 2017 , mine has a little bit of padding at the bottom, but I’ve never put my laptop or iPad without a padded sleeve or some times I have wrap it around a thin jumper to safe space when travelling. I have a water bottle that fits on the side pockets it’s by Wilford and sons just in case it helps x

Glad it was helpful! Sadly, the black does fade a bit over time. I do like the versatility of black, though. If you are worried about fading, I’d go with another color.

I haven't tested this backpack in a heavy downpour, but it seems to do well in light rainfall.
