I didnt' find many videos comparing specific Fjallraven backpack styles side by side so I did one today of the 2 that I just got.
In this video I:
-Open these 2 backpacks, do a quick comparison
-Share my first impressions
-Try to fit my 13" laptop inside
-Test-pack it to see what can fit inside (using Ju-Ju-Be products)
-Carry it so you can see how it looks on the body.
In the end I felt that the laptop backpack is definitely more comfortable with the backpack straps, and is a better option even though it is more expensive! I am still going to keep the classic one though I think since i love the Frost Green color :)

You're suppose to take out the grey foam from the beginning lol, I hate how nobody knows that.
It's a hiking backpack, so that grey foam is actually to be used as a "seat" out in the wilderness.

In 12 minutes, i knew which one I should buy. Thanks for saving me the hours of research you spent deciding which to buy, and for helping me avoid counterfeits!
i believe you got the classic backpack instead if the 13" backpack. all the laptop bags have padded straps and a separate laptop compartment :)

I have both the classic and the laptop backpack. The laptop backpack has the extra compartment and extra straps.
the 13 inch one is a day pack.
there is a 13 inch laptop backpack (which i have in graphite)
and it's just like the 15 inch laptop backpack you have in the separate compartment with zipper
oh and theres padding on all laptop backpacks!

They were made in Sweden I don’t know where people are getting there info but they were not made in Vietnam or China and those places are know for duplicating or making fakes so I know where she’s coming from

Your comparison video is wonderful! I wish this was out when I was doing research on the kanken backpacks lol. I first got the classic n the moment I opened the box I knew it was too small for me n being an architect student I needed something with a tad bit more space for my supplies so I returned it n got the kanken big which can fit a 17" laptop n it was perfect. There's a wax you can purchase that will help maintain the waterproof exterior of the bag. I recommend it for ppl who are quite rough with their bags or like to do lots of outdoor activities such as biking or hiking.

they actually recommend to not use the wax on the kanken because it's not the right material for it.
The sleeve isn't a laptop compartment...

Yes, you can! It was sold out when I first did this video. I tried it out at an actual store and didn't end up getting it cuz I didn't like the colors. They didn't have it in frost green.

the smaller one is just a normal kanken. I have that one too and I can fit my 13 inch laptop with the foam and the straps feel totally fine on my shoulders.

the laptop compartment was a zip in the back of the bag. (behind the straps) Only the laptop bags have this compartment and it's padded. the pocket you put it in is to only house the cushion to help with your posture. tmyk

I was leaning towards the 13 inch laptop one because I have a 13 inch macbook air but now I am thinking I am going with the 15 inch because it just look roomier and obviously my laptop will still fit. the classic one is 38 cm to be exact, so i think it would be a bit of a struggle to fit a 15 inch laptop in it

i’m pretty sure that the frost green one is a counterfeit- it doesn’t have the swedish flag on the inside next to the writing on the back :/... i would stick to buying these on the actual website just because you never know what you’re actually gonna get when you’re on amazon sometimes. no hate, just trying to help.
1. the smaller one isn’t actually the laptop version of the bag
2. these older MacBooks habe a 13“ screen but are 15“ in size

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but I think you ordered the wrong backpack for yourself. It looks like you ordered the "13in Classic" vs getting the "13in Laptop" version. The laptop specific backpacks all have separate laptop compartments. The interior sleeve is only there to hold the back padding, not to hold a laptop.

Chenxtroll hey I'm not her but I'd say it would fit 2 2,5" binders and that's all, so if you have things that are less than 5" with it not being squished in there you are fine. Since you are shorter the slight won't make a difference but it's bigger width wise, so if that's unflattering keep that in mind

Soo... I think that the 15" one had a special pocket or compartment for the laptop, like outside of the principal one...
little fact: if your Kanken doesn't have a Swedish flag at the tag in the inside where you can write your name than it's a fake
so I think you might have got a fake one off amazon
Only the newer versions have that, keep in mind this was from 3 years ago. They changed the new models so they are different from the ones she is showing! :)
It’s definitely a fake, the seams on the inside are not how they would appear on the real deal, there’s no sticker on the seat pad authenticating it’s use & purpose, the logo on both of her bags do not have the bolder font with the dots over the “a”s being more visible as they would appear on the real bags. The Swedish flag is definitely an authenticating factor, but even deep fakes have now started to incorporate them, but they are sometimes smaller or bigger, or sewn in upside down. Amazon is full of deep fakes of the Kanken bags. Hers are fakes. It’s pretty useless to purchase from unauthorized retailers, when it’s not that much of a discount anyways and you might as well just get the real deal from Fjallraven’s US site or Urban outfitters.

If you’re gonna be carrying a laptop with you then I’d recommend buying the 13” laptop kanken since the classic isn’t designed for carrying laptops

Even though Fjallraven kind of sells it like it‘s for a laptop, I don‘t really think it is. You don‘t really get that much support and your device doesn‘t feel safe

I got the classic in ochre for school and it’s perfect. It can fit about 2-3 text books probably but I just ordered the 15in. Laptop bag because my laptop doesn’t fit well in my classic kanken . Hope that helps 🙏🏻
The 13 will probably work. We fit clothes for 2 people for 2 days in a 15 lol
15 unless you plan on using a locker a lot.
You can also buy add on padded Straps for the classic one
I thought all the authentic bags had the Swedish flag on the bottom right of the inside white tag...?
They do! Hers are definitely fakes. Amazon is not an authorized reseller & is a sea of deep fakes that look convincing if you don’t know what to look for. Another dead giveaway is the cheap stitching gin the inside of the bags (it would be much thicker and superior looking on the real ones), the lack of a sticker on the seat pad authenticating its use and purpose, and the reflective logo on the real bags would have a bolder print with thicker dots over all of the “a”s that you could actually see from a distance.

you showed that the 13" mac fits in the 2 bags but you didnt show if a 15" mac can fit in the 15" fjallraven..

The straps is why there popular. It help your back so you won't get back problems. If you don't like the straps you can buy there cushion strap
At the back of the bag, you can see that the straps are crossed. It is designed like that for SUPPORT and so your back, neck, and shoulders won't hurt or have problems

I just got 2 of these bags and I wanted to see a comparison of the two I got (btw I got them on separate occasions and one was a gift. The other one I got on sale on UO for literally $48. Not trying to flex bc in reality I don’t got $$$) . Little did I know they were the exact same as the ones she had! I got the same color in the 15” and the same color in the 13” as she got. I just thought that was funny.

It depends! If you have a laptop then I prefer the laptop one. But if your backpack won't be too heavy then the classic should work!

I think the 13’ is a fake because there was no sticker on the seat cover and there was no sweetdish flag
On the newer backpacks, they don’t have the Swedish flag, but the older ones do

That wasn't the laptop 13 inch bag. Laptop bags have a compartment in the back.
