i use the 15" and trust me, it's worth it. it fits bigger school supplies and a laptop pouch in the back that comes with strap pads. just my opinion but if you are going to buy i would recommend the 15" laptop. they are a lot smaller than you think ~ ☼

Exactly what I needed... I remembered watching a video introducing the Kanken with a back zip but I've been through so many shops and websites but all their bagpacks do not have that feature. Now I know its the laptop series bagpack!

I was amazed by the advancement of tech. Back in 2016 a heavy duty 15 inch laptop won’t fit in a backpack designed for 15 inch laptop. I just got my kanken no 2 in the regular no laptop version, and I can put my 16 inch MacBook Pro inside. Good review ！

As long as you're ok with hauling a slightly bigger backpack, then yes it makes sense to me. You get more room overall. Your current laptop will fit. So will your next one if you decide to move up to the 15". Your laptop might slide around a little since it's in a bigger compartment but I don't think that's too big of a deal. If you end up going for the 15" backpack, please come back and share your thoughts to help others who may be wondering the same thing.

I'm considering buying one but I need to fit a 1.5 inch binder, folder, 2-4 one subject notebooks a 1 inch sketch book, and a pair of tennis shoes. I love the way they look but I'm so concerned with size. I have a Steven Universe backpack right now and it holds pretty much all I need and has a divider I put my notebooks in but i could live with out it if necessary.

Without knowing if you'll be carrying a laptop and if so, what the size of your laptop is, I'd say 15-inch. It should be big enough to carry your books and supplies. You might find the 17-inch to be just a tad bit too big.

Can anyone add how the padding is on the bottom of the laptop backpack? I fond a lot of bags only do the sides and not the bottom so if you drop your bag the device is still hitting the ground.

The Kanken Laptop backpacks are suitable - they're lightweight and won't be bulkier than any other backpack that will carry a lot of books. However, if you're concerned about the comfort of wearing it with a lot of weight, you may want to consider a backpack with thicker shoulder pads. Typically though, backpacks with thicker shoulder pads will be bulkier.

If anyone has a Dell 15 Inspiron 5000, the laptop will not fit the 15’ kanken bag :/ . I’m doing research now to see if the 17’ in is a good deal. Update: I didn’t buy the 17’ bag because im broke but the laptop should definitely in the 17’. Barnes and Noble sells a few bags so I went to the store and tested to see if my laptop would fit in the 15’. It was just a little bit to big, I could zip the laptop sleeve all the way. There was no 17’ bag for me to test but I still say, go for the 17’
@Bunny Exo-light It should, I can't say yes for sure. When I tried to put my laptop in the 15' sleeve, the laptop was poking out a few inches, can't zip up the sleeve. But it should definitely fit in the 17', it's an addition $5 I believe. Happy shopping :)

The pad is not made to sit on its to help keep you back by getting poked at and stuff but the stuff in your backpack

I have a question does the classic work well as a school backpack ? like will it fit a binder and stuff like that?

Hi, do you think an A4 size binder would fit in the mini? It seems like just smaller than an A4 size, but the Classic would be too big for me.

The fact that the classic backpack can also fit a laptop in the back pocket so clearly the classic is the best for school and cheaper

Does it fit mbp 15 inch ?
I need some help deciding:
I have a 13.3” computer. I’m not sure if I should get the 15” laptop bag (it might be too big considering I’m quite short) or the 13” laptop bag (risk my computer not fitting) please can someone tell me what to do, they’re pretty expensive so I don’t want to get the wrong one 🙏🏻🧐
If you plan on getting a 15" laptop soon, go for the 15. Otherwise, the 13" Kanken should fit your laptop just fine.
Hi. I currently have a doughnut macaroon backpack in the standard size and Just because I am thinking to buy a kanken... Does anybody know if the standard size of the kanken has almost the same capacity as the doughnut macaroon? 😅
You can put a bottle of water in the side pockets but it just has to fit the size of the pocket.

If you were to put a laptop in the classic I assume you'd put it where it's holding the cushion. How big of a laptop can you fit there?
Unfortunately, the sleeve doesn't offer a lot of room. Enough for a tablet, maybe a Macbook Air, but not a laptop the size of a 2009 13" MacBook Pro.

Wow so you are saying that the classic and the 15 inc are the exact same size but the only difference is the extra laptop compartment? Is that right? I was worried it was a larger bag.
If anyone has a Dell 15 Inspiron 5000, the laptop will not fit the 15’ kanken bag :/ . I’m doing research now to see if the 17’ in is a good deal.
Update: I didn’t buy the 17’ bag because im broke but the laptop should definitely in the 17’. Barnes and Noble sells a few bags so I went to the store and tested to see if my laptop would fit in the 15’. It was just a little bit to big, I could zip the laptop sleeve all the way. There was no 17’ bag for me to test but I still say, go for the 17’
@Bunny Exo-light It should, I can't say yes for sure. When I tried to put my laptop in the 15' sleeve, the laptop was poking out a few inches, can't zip up the sleeve. But it should definitely fit in the 17', it's an addition $5 I believe. Happy shopping :)
