What did the Soviets (Russians?) declare the Kuznetsov as again? An "aircraft-carrying battlecruiser"?
Edit: Wikipedia says it's "heavy aircraft cruiser" today and "aircraft-carrying cruiser" for the purposes of passing the Turkish Strait.

144 surface to air missiles... as Germans we just can laugh... right ?
Our latest Frigate Class the "Baden-Würtenberg" or F122-Class has a huge ammount of 0 VLS Cells which allows us to to fire 0 SMˋs or ESSM ever
While this is the most expensive Ship for german navy ever...
Even the older "Sachsen" Class has VLS Cells and is more powerfull
      It is so sad

Would love a UK 2028 carrier strike group vs a Russia 2028 carrier strike group, we could pretend russia have a working Kuznetsov and a working Kirov and Slava class ships and we could pretend the UK has the money for all the air defence missiles.

The large domes house the Sat Comms tubes on the front next to the mushrooms are DLF inflatable decoys.
Some of the larger masts at the back are Comms and some detectors for EW.
The small "lamps" I believe are a elcro-optical CCTV to help track small fast attack craft as well as a manual ability to track .
30mm is used for close in defence against air and sea tracks

I very rarely say this sort of thing, but the Canadian Type 26 are going to be absolute beasts!
They are going to have a much different weapons loadout compared to British and Aussie variants, including ESSM, SM-2, Oto Malara main gun with Vulcano rounds, and Tomahawk LAM’s.
It will be pretty cool if/when the RCN ever gets them into service.

Canadian type 26 is underarmed for its intended role though, unlike the 26, its also an air defense warship ,no progression in vls count from tribal ii class, especially if an asroc is fitted (as it really should be so helicopters and ship torpedos arent relied on in bad weather). Sea ceptor is better in ciws role 1-10km range than essm and essm greater max range but they are still too similar to share the same vessel and i don't think any more than 16 sm 2 will be fitted in the current plan (waste of time), why are 3 missiles neede with such a small vls count, 48 cells mk 41 and 36 mk 56 for essm would be more fitting for the role as well as something like the millenium gun instead of the marlins (effective against small boats with variable fire rate, cheap and lighter than phalanx and better in the anti missile role. Fit would then be32 sm-6, 8 tomahawk, 8 asroc).Wish the british variant had the oto 127 gun though

A rough but not definitive threshold from frigate to destroyer is around 7000 tons.
Also, the two rotating bar antennas are surface search radars. Usually one is military spec and the other is a commercial off the shelf radar like a Furuno. That allows for safe navigation while only emitting a radar signature that could be any civilian ship

Loved the video @Grim Reapers! Can't wait for the next video man! Love the work that CH is doing for the DCS Community with all of these new Assets that he keeps putting out there, you sir are a Legend in your own right!
I've got More information about the "Operation Shoestring II" for you man. This is actually the Plan for the Landings on the Island of Donkk. After that I'll brief you on the Reinforcements that will be brought in for the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo (Named after local Community Content Creator @Camodo Gaming) as well as the Vehicles currently in the AI Forces Inventory with the Weapons DLC itself.
The Plan for "Operation Shoestring II" goes as Follows:
    • The Ship's in the Task Force for the Operation (see your "Australia vs. China | Battle for Darwin" video) will rendezvous at an area about 500 Meters North-Northeast from the Ring of Fire. Once all ships are in position, they will then Head for an Area to the South-Southeast of the Island of Donkk with the Iowa and the Cleveland being about 3 Kilometers away (1.8 miles) and the Bayfield and the other Transports about 5 Kilometers away (3.07 miles). This is mainly because of the AI Forces Inventory just having Fast Attack Craft and "Destroyers" in their Ranks so no submarines to deal with, that and the Sheer Size of the Ships being at least two or three times the Maximum Size you can usually build a Ship in Stormworks so you'd have to have a Decent PC Set-up as well as set the Game Settings (Resolution, Graphics etc.) to the lowest Levels just so the Game doesn't crash. In Real life, the Iowa and the Cleveland would be Stationed 6 Miles (9.74 Km) off the Coast and the Transports 10 Miles (16.24 Km) off the Coast but in Stormworks and the Area of the Map the Ships will operating in, it's not that possible.
    • Once the Ships for the Bombardment Group and the Transport Group are in their Respective Areas, the Iowa and the Cleveland will Start Conducting the Preliminary Bombardment. At the Same time, The USS Bayfield will be lowering her Landing Craft (12 LCVP's, 4 LCM 3's with her 3 LCP(L)'s are held back for a Little ways in to bring supplies) into the Water and start sending in the Troops for the First Wave.
    • When the First Wave of Troops is 500 Meters ( 1,625 Feet, 0.307 Miles or about a Minute) from the Beach, The Bombardment Group (The Iowa and The Cleveland) will fire off a Final Barrage from their Main (16"/50 Caliber and 6"/47 Caliber Guns Respectively) and Secondary (5"/38 Caliber Guns) Batteries before Repositioning to the North-Northeast of the Island of Donkk for the Second Wave.
    • While the Ships are Repositioning for the Second Wave, the Troops Landing on the Southern Coast of the Island of Donkk will first Capture Dreimor Airstrip, then push to the Northwest through the Nearby forest into the Village of Dreimor itself before pushing West for Terminal Spycakes (Again, named for Local Community Content Creator @Spycakes).
    • The Second Wave will be Landing at the Northern Coast of the Island of Donkk. They'll capture the Nearby Settlement and the Road and Rail Bridges Connecting Donkk to The Other Islands in the Chain like the Chemical Factory, Lighthouse O.B. (Content Creator @Beautiful O.B.) And Terminal Camodo as well as the Sawyer Islands to the East of Camodo. As this is going on, The LST-325 will land her Tanks, Vehicles and Equipment onto the Island Close by to the East of Donkk so as to Provide Fire Support for the Move inland of Donkk. In case you're wondering why this is the Case, Terminal Spycakes has Railway lines going into a Mountain and following it up and around to the Northern end of Donnk where it's pretty much a Straight Shot towards Terminal Camodo or the T-Junction where you can go to the Sawyer Islands or the 40 or 50-some Kilometers North to the Arctic. In effect, I've got a Massive Pincer Movement on Terminal Spycake with this stage of the Operation.
    • Once Donkk has been Captured from the AI Forces, The Jeremiah O'Brien and American Victory can Start to Unload Supplies for the Troops at Terminal Spycakes while USS Murzim (AK-95) tops off Iowa and Cleveland's Ammunition Stores. Because Murzim never Historically Carried 16" Ammunition, Iowa will have to Return to Port with Bayfield and LST-325 to top off her Main Battery Ammunition. In the Meantime, SS Jeremiah O'Brien and SS American Victory can Start Doing Cargo Container Runs to and From the Arctic at least until the Reinforcements arrive for the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo.
The Reinforcements for the Troops on Donkk and the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo will have the Following Ships:
    • Cleveland-class Light Cruiser USS Columbia (CL-56).
    • Allen M. Sumner-class Destroyer USS Laffey (DD-724).
    • Fletcher-class Destroyers USS Kidd (DD-661) and USS Cassin Young (DD-793).
    • Cimarron-class Fleet Oiler USS Neosho (AO-23) (Carrying Fuel for the Fleet).
    • Bayfield-class Attack Transport Ship USS Cambria (APA-36).
    • Liberty Ship Tanker Configuration SS Alan Seeger (Carrying Aviation Gasoline for Aircraft Operating from Dreimor Airstrip).
    • Liberty Ship Boxed Aircraft Transport Configuration SS Albert M. Boe (Now known as the "Star of Kodiak" outside Trident Seafoods main office in Kodiak, Alaska; Carrying P-38J Lightning Fighter-Bombers, A-20G Havoc Medium Bombers and PBY-5A Catalina Flying Boats for Dreimor Airstrip).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Lynx (AK-100) (Carrying an LCT Mark 6 for Further Operations with the LST(2)'s).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Crater (AK-70) (Carrying Supplies and Equipment for the Troops on Donkk for the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Mintaka (AK-94) (Carrying More Ammunition Stores for the Fleet).
    • Landing Ship Tank Mark 2 (LST(2)) LST-1-subclass LST-393 (Carrying More Vehicles and Equipment for the Troops on Donkk and the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo).
    • Liberty Ship Standard Configuration John W. Brown (Carrying Supplies and Equipment for the Troops on Donkk).
    • Liberty Ship Standard Configuration Jack London (Carrying Supplies and Equipment for the Troops on Donkk).
The AI Forces Inventory is very Limited. Their Air Force has Eurofighter Typhoons, Eurocopter Tiger's in a Similar Pattern to Australia's Tiger ARH, and Bell UH-1Y Huey "Venom" Transport Helicopters. Their Army has a Tank that looks like a Horrendous Cross between the German Leopard 2, British Challenger 2 and American M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks though upon further Inspection before typing this up it's more or less similar to the Soviet T-72 with a Horrendously Deformed T-62 Turret and they also have a Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Tank with 2 Rotary Autocannons (30 millimeter 6 Barreled kinda like the avenger on the A-10 but smaller like the M61 Vulcan though just as long as the avenger) as if it were a Cross between the ZSU-23-4 Shilka and 2K22 Tunguska Anti-Aircraft Tanks.
The AI Navy is the Real Head Scratcher here. From what I can tell, Deltars (Aka Geometa) who is the Dev for Stormworks and it's DLC's, took the Needlefish and Swordfish Ships from his other Game, Carrier Command 2, and built them for the Stormworks AI Forces. The Destroyer is pretty much the Swordfish with just a Gun Armed Version (battle Cannon with 3 or 4 Barrel Extensions) and a Missile Armed Version (6 Radar Guided Anti-Aircraft Missiles). It's 54.75 Meters in Length which is the Longest you can Build Something in Stormworks Normally, a Draft of about 5 Meters(?) and a Top Speed of 12 m/s or about 23 Knots. The Fast Attack Craft is Basically the Needlefish with Just a Heavy Autoncannon with 2 or 3 Barrel Extensions on it. It's got a Top Speed of 16 m/s or about 31 Knots and is the Smallest of the Warships in the Weapons DLC with a Draft of about 1.5 Meters(?).
I'll get the Actual Specs for the Ships in the Weapons DLC if you guys want to try it with some "Real World Equivalents" in DCS. I hope you guys like the Idea, I spent about two hours typing this up. Let me know what you think about it and I'll catch you in your next video!

I was on a Type 23 when we launched them......was funny as fuck it got stuck on the guardrail that we had lowered around the edge of the flight deck.
The contractor's were most unhappy at the amount of laughing a piss taking we did
on a serious note, the EW guys would assess the threat and then determine if it was best as "Soft" kIll ie decoy / jammed or "hard" kill on a 23 sea wolf.

I understand that as of November’23 BAE Systems has offered Australia an upgunned ‘missile variant’ of the Hunter Class given that strong reservations has been made about the lack of weapons fit out for such a large vessel. The three currently under consideration have only 32 VLS and planned 8 missile canisters for NSM. The new missile frigate / destroyer variant will replace the multi mission bay with a 64 Cell VLS and four quad packs of NSM. There is a good chance at least three of the follow on vessels will be the missile destroyers

Looking forward to CH making Type 31 next (may actually beat the T26 into service).

    • @lukeallison3713
      @lukeallison3713 Рік тому

RN or anyone else hasn't actually done the groundwork yet to quadpack CAMM in mk 41, just the mushroom farms, they could have put 16 extra strike length vls in the type 45 update and got 8 tomahawk, 32 camm instead of only 24 camm but mushroom farms were easier . The 26 mk 41 vls is confirmed only for the future cruise and anti ship weapon ready in 2028 and the only other likely unconfirmed weapon is asroc. As for the type 31, its based on the iver huitfeldt (an air defence frigate with associated radar) which has 32 mk 41 for sm2, 12 mk 56 for essm(dual packed,24 essm) and 16 harpoons amidships. Before the mk 41 announcement on the type 31, the plan was 24 mushroom sea ceptor and foundations fbnw 32 mk 41 cells. Not sure if the mk 41 cells are replacing the mushroom farms now, the best way in my view to utilize that space is to use the 32 cells for fc/asw, and fit 12 exls (a smaller mk 41 derivitave that can soft launch and just the right size to quadpack camm, which is also used on the canadian type 26) for 48 camm. The danish design allows 12 essm for every 8 harpoon (max 32 harpoon or 48 essm) and the exls will take up less space. Then stick the nsms, an artisan or ns110 and a 3 cell exls for 12 sea ceptor on the river class

We had Phalanx on shore when we were statuoned at Basra Airfield in Iraq back in 2006. We had so many incoming rockets and mortars each day that they installed these to handle it. Amazing to watch these shot rockets out the sky. Unfortunately one time we were hit in the day and the Phalanx engaged but cut the ricket in half, the warhead carried on and killed some of our guys. Incredible bit of kit though.

The T26 is a beautiful ship! It's a shame we don't really ever get Subs in these DCS war-games as it would really come into its own then in the British CSG. I guess it will only really perform as additional AA. Would love it if the UK could get some B-21s. Too much money for us though I would think.

the lamps were EOS sensors for the DS30M which has a 30mm bushmaster cannon on an automated mount.
A stop gap solution would be more likely for the mk41 cells (but most likely they will be left empty until FC/ASW), if we were lucky and bought some JSMs for the F35s they could be fitted with asroc boosters for mk41 cells.
the fire rate for the type 45s mk8 gun is way off and can only fire 5 rounds a minute more than this mk45 5 inch gun and the guided ammunition for the new gun blows away the mk8 in comparison.

The pods on the side of the mast are SCOT-5 satellite communication antennas.

The antennas at the back are UHF and other frequency communication masts.
There are 2 small antenna pods (1 on top of the bridge and 1 on top of the hanger) these provide a 2 way data link to guide the sea ceptors in place of a fire control radar, what they say is a fire control radar is actually another EOS sensor.

The bushmasters can be used against aircraft and missiles to a lesser extent due to their infrared targeting system and optic systems as well as the soon to come martlet missile add ons which can serve as SAM’s.
The reason British ships are so heavily armed with small arms compared to other nations is because of lessons learned in the Falklands with low altitude aircraft runs, the mini guns and MG’s work against really really close aircraft and small attack craft (the stuff Iran uses)
