Thank you so much!! I am 62yrs old and this little cow is my very first attempt at these crochet animals! And it turned out cute!! Ive crochet blankets for years but never the animals. I could not have done it without your crochet along tutorial. Thank you ❤
Your so welcome! I’m glad to hear you found it easy to follow and enjoyed crocheting with me ❤️😊❤️

Thank you for the pattern. It's so cute. The only change I made was to do an extra row around both front legs to make them longer. I find the cow doesn't topple over as easily. Thanks again.
Your so welcome! 🥰 That's a great idea for the legs.
Can you please!!!!!!🥺
Make a deer using this same simple body shape?
It would literally make my week 🙏

Its me again im doing another of your beautiful cow for my sister she loved the one i did before so thank you.
Im back again to your beautiful pattern .i made your cow and everybody loves him and wants one.thank you.
Oh yay!!!! That’s wonderful!! I’m glad you are enjoying crocheting with me, and everyone is loving your cows 🥰😊
Thank you for mentioning how much yarn you used. So many content creators forget that part. It's frustrating to start a project and run out of yarn.
You are so welcome! 🥰 I actually rarely do, because most of the things I make only use a few ounces or less. But with these larger ones I thought it would be important info. Now that you’ve mentioned it though, I may do that more often, cause you are so right, runining out of yarn is very disappointing, especially if you almost had enough 😊
Thank you so much for your tutorial….love all your great tips!
You are so welcome! 🥰 glad you enjoyed it 😊
First time trying a crochet animal. My Highland cow is absolutely adorable, new subscriber!

Just found your channel, you are such a great instructor!! I do much better with tutorials then trying to read the patterns so I hope you continue to make videos on you tube as I don't use tic toc. Anyway, the cow is adorable!!!
Awwwww 🥰 Thank you so much! Glad to hear you are enjoying crocheting with me. 😊
Can you come up with a barn that the farm animals can stay in. Maybe something that a child can play with as a farm setting.
Maybe even throw in a tractor? Thanks so much for all the fun!!!
I have definitely been thinking about that, but I have to think about what to use to reinforce the walls, plastic canvas if it’s still around, lol. Also only McDonald maybe. The tractor, I think would be hard, but I love that idea!!!! 🥰
Oh my goodness! I keep saying this is my favorite, then you post another one! I love them all 🤣
Thanks Jennifer ❤️ I can’t pick a favourite either.
Beautiful work I've enjoyed watching it I may try to make it one day! I do love the way you take the time to explain what and how you did the cow! ❤
Aww thanks. 🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed the way I do my videos, you’ll have to let me know how it turns out if you ever make it 👍😊
Excellent video thank you very much.
You are welcome! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed it
Hey Rhonda, lovely tutorial! The cow i made came out so cute! You are truly a gem in the crochet community. Could you possibility make a sheep pattern? ❤
Just made one and I like it and thank you , Rhonda from RhondaB
Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🥰 we’re almost name twins, lol
Just love your videos! I'm having so much fun!! Do you have a duck one??

Rhonda, I love your patterns. I would love to request a sitting version off a cow. My daughter 😅s begging!!!!!!!
I do have a sitting cow but it was one of my first videos so it’s not as good as what I’m doing now, and it’s not no sew. I can give you a little trick for it though. If you follow the reindeer video in your cow main color, (skipping the reindeer horns) and then find the horns, spots and tail in the cow video you will get exactly what I would make if I redid a sitting no sew version. I’ll link both of them for you to check out.

ua-cam.com/video/RLKSts523xs/v-deo.html
Hi Rhonda I figured out that on the part when you attach the first leg you know how we have to add 2 stitches first then start the leg, if you move your stitch marker to the first stitch of the first leg when you get back around after doing all the legs you will have 3 final stitches to finish making it even. So the stitches between all 4 legs will be a count of 3.
Oh!!!! That’s a good way to do it!! Great thinking ! 😁
😂
I made a few of the small ones and sold them the white ones
That is awesome!!!! I’m always happy to hear about successful sales! Great job, and I hope you sell lots more. 🥰
I made the head of your small cow for a keychain. It is so adorable! Thank you for the video.
Oh what a great idea !!!! You are so welcome! 🥰 glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thanks so much.
I wanted to paste a picture of my finished cow but I could figure out how to do it.
Oh yay! I did see a dark brown and white one. If that wasn’t you , here is a link to my craft page. facebook.com/ARtDesignsandCrafts?mibextid=LQQJ4d
Just made this pattern super easy to follow
Awesome!!! Glad you like it! 🥰
Struggling to get a 4.25mm hook in the UK so used a 4mm instead for your elephant
That would work perfectly. I use the biggest hook I can get away with, lol. But I really should be using a couple sizes smaller 😊
Have you done an elephant? i enjoyed making this cow! it was so much fun!
I do have one made from a couple months ago, but I haven’t videoed it yet, because I’m undecided if I like the ears. (It’s similar to the 9” siting carebear) but the more I look at it the more I’m ok with it, lol. I’ll probably get it videoed after I’m out of Christmas ideas.
Hi Rhonda B. yesterday I was how you make the cow it was cutie. So have a good day.
Hi Kathy 🥰 thank you! You tooooooo 😊
Thank you so much for the tutorial💙💙
I made white cow😊❤
Oh nice!!! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Hi Rhonda, new to your channel. Your work is beautiful ❤
Awwww 🥰 Thanks and welcome to my channel. Hope you find lots of thing you like 😊
Thank you I'm going to make a little cow ❤
Awesome!!! I hope you enjoy crocheting with me 🥰
Try putting a button inside the hooves to keep flat?!? An idea!
That’s a great idea! I’ve also thought of cutting plastic circles out of sour cream lids, but I never do it, lol. 😊
Or even bottle caps?
This was so good to follow. Thankyou souch. I'm no good with patterns. I've been asked to make the white and black cow. How do you do the patches? Are they crotchet circles please?
The circles are in there. Closer to the end. But yes, they are just circles 🥰
I love your pattern for the farm animals the cow, horse and goat are interchangeable. Do you have a pattern for a buffalo?
I don’t have a buffalo. It’s a bit of a different shape. I’m trying to think if there’s a way you could use the same base and make it a buffalo. But I’m not seeing it in my head. Other than using a dark main and brushing it out to kinda hide the original shape. Hmmm. Idk. Im looking at the buffalo across the road from me and their heads are lower than their backs… I can definitely put it on my list, but it’s for sure a trickier one.
@@rhondadawnbutler please let me know if you do. Thank you
Thank you for the tutorial on the cow. I made it with the plush yarn and it came out so cute! Do you have a tutorial for your pin cushion? It is so cute.
Yes I do! You are so welcome 🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed you cow! 😊 Crochet alien brain slug futurama RAOK

Oh my goodness!!!! I love these farm animals. Do you think you could add a sheep/lamb to the bunch? Also, I'm looking forward to doing Max the dog. I have the Grinch and now need Max to add to him. Thank you so much for sharing these,
Hi Susie, I want to do a sheep soooooooo bad, but I’d want to have the face one color and the back of the head and body another color in a bobble stich. Which wouldn’t be easy with this pattern because the stitches go horizontally, and I try and stay away from carrying yarn in the back. I’m thinking about it all the time though, lol. If I figure it out, I’ll definitely be doing it. 😊 I’ll be doing max when I have a slump between projects. So will definitely be before next Christmas!!! 🥰
@@rhondadawnbutler I did the sheep that Complicated Knots came out with. It was cute, but I would like one that goes along with your farm. :0)
My 88 year old mom and her friends have a crochet club where they make donate animals for orphanages. They would love your written patterns as yours are so easy follow can we purchase them?
That is such a sweet thing for them to do. 😍 unfortunately I haven’t figured out how to get a written pattern on line yet. I do keep trying to research it occasionally, but for now I only have it at the top during the video.
Love your patterns. Do you have one for a donkey or sheep that could be used in a nativity set?
I have a horse/donkey like this, but sadly no sheep, unfortunately I crocheted the wrong direction and wouldn’t be able to keep it no sew if I’d done a sheep the way I think it would look best. A nativity set does sound amazing though! 🥰
This little cow turned out lovely. Have you done any dinosaurs?
Oh I’m so glad you enjoyed it, I don’t have a dinosaur yet, but I definitely plan on doing one in the future 🥰
Love Your videos. I don't do Tic Toc, so hope you keep on using UA-cam 😂
I will! 😊 I just use it to direct viewers to utube. I figured out UA-cam, but it takes me all day to figure out how to make. 15-60 sec video on tic toc lol. Glad you are enjoying my channel 🥰
Super cute, thanks for sharing 🙂. If I want to do much bigger, do I just need to double or triple the stiches of each row? Thanks again
Thank you! 🥰 hmm I’m not sure. I’ve never done it that way. Not sure if the proportions will stay the same, but I guess you never know till you try. (I’ll give you a general mathematical way I do it) so for every increase row you make, you want that many repeat rows in the middle, then the same amount of decrease rows till the neck opening is what you want, to get the round head. As far as the body it’ll be a bit trial and error. Love to see how you make out if it works for you 😊
@@rhondadawnbutler Thanks Rhonda
Hi! Rhonda this cow is beautiful! Could you help me to do it doble the size please! I’m new crocheting 🧶 😊
The easiest way I’ve found for doubling size, is to increase the yarn weight and hook size. You could also double strand your yarn, but I haven’t tried that yet myself. ❤️😊
Do you use chenille yarn when sewing up the chenille animals or just sewing thread
I use which ever yarn I crocheted with. So for the larger cow I made it with Bernat blanket yarn, so it’s sewn together with blanket yarn. 😊
Thanh you ❤
Your very welcome! 🥰
Oh and also I'm a little confused on what you said about. I think row 7-8. are you saying that each of those rows have a total of 7 rows each? If that makes sense. or did you mean that those 2 rows will come out to be 7 rows. Or am I just not understanding entirely?
Hi johnnie. (For voodoo doll) Row 7 is your last increase row. (5sc, 1inc for a total of 42 stitches) then when you get to row 8… it will be 7 rows of 42 stitches. So rows 8 to 14 are all 42. Then I come back on row 15 to start decrease rows.
Hope that helps 😊
@Rhonda Butler yes it does a lot thank you!
Need the cow head x2 size. I have a special project.
Also need legs with hooves x2.
I think I know what your making. 😉 I had to do the same thing, what worked best for me was following the same pattern and two stranding the yarn. (#4 yarn) I’m not sure if you can do that with blanket yarn. If you follow this pattern for the head, doubling the rows might work because it’s just a ball, and tubes for the legs. The nose will be some trial and error. (If your making a blanket I’d do that part the size you want first, then do the head legs and tail) then you can kinda tell the proportions on the head as you are adding increase rows. (My general rule is one repeat row for every increase row, so if I have 7 increase rows, 6-12-18-24-30-36-42-48, then make approximately 7 repeat rows of 48.) hope that helps you out 😊
This was such a cute pattern , idk what I’m doing wrong though my cow came out way to small I ended up having to add an extra row making the head bigger . Now I’m trying to follow your pig video and the same thing is happening, I’m using the same weight yarn (red heart ) and I even used a bigger hook what am I doing wrong ? But love the patterns !
Hi Taram.
Hmmmmm I’m not sure, your probably not doing anything wrong. We may just have a very different tension on our stitches. I do feel I have a fairly tight stitch with #4 yarn, then stuff quite firmly, which I have to be very careful not to stretch my stitches. My only guess, since I can’t see it, is to add more stuffing if you can.
But if adding an extra row makes the shape you prefer, I would just continue doing that. All these animals are basically the same body/head/legs. So if you do anymore, just remember that you’ll need that extra row. I know that might not help you much, but I am glad you found a way to make the head shape better to work for you 😊
@@rhondadawnbutler thank you so much!
@@taram9098 your welcome. After I answered you I also remembered, I originally had an extra row, when I did max the dog . Then when I tested the farm animals with the same pattern but the #6 bulky yarn, I took a row or two out so the proportions for the larger (#6) yarn looked more proportional. So originally I did have more rows.
I am lost need help trying to make your white cow and i am not matching yours on video.😢
Can you explain a little bit what’s going wrong for you? Like row number or a time stamp? Then it’s easier for me to try and figure out what’s happening. 😊
Could you show how to make a highland cow ?
You should be able to make it with this pattern by changing the Color’s, and maybe adding strands of yarn for hair.
@@rhondadawnbutler ok thank you 😊
About to start but going rouge LOL I don't have a 4.25mm hook, so using 4mm with worsted weight. I have no pink for the snout so using grey. Do you have a worsted weight yarn that is your go to? That's affordable a.k.a. cheap LOL
Haha!! A 4 will work perfectly. Better even. My real cows have black noses ;). I buy Bernat premium and red heart in the #4. I’m in Canada, our Walmarts sell it for about $4.97 for 7 oz. That’s the cheapest I’ve ever found. Color’s are limited cause it’s the smaller store, but I just have to stock up on rare Color’s as I see them. 😊 I’d love to buy it on Amazon but I’ve seen the exact size and color anywhere from $18-$105 for one skein 🤷♀️ lol.. good luck with your cow 🥰
Wouldn't a metal needle work better?
Ya, I had that plastic one for over 30 years. I ended up breaking it ☹️ and now have a metal one. 👍
hello so i am making the white and black one and i was wondering if the tuft of hair on the top of the head is just a circle.
Yes, it’s just a spot. Hair would be cute though.
@@rhondadawnbutler also what mm eyes would you recomend for each size?
@@juliebee2049 I used 10mm eyes for all the little ones except the black and white cow. That one I accidentally used 12 mm eyes, and I think I like the 12mm better. For the large one I used 20mm eyes 😊
So if I want to make a giant one do I use bigger yarn and hook or add more chains to the original count?
Use a bigger hook and yarn. Trying to change the stitch count could change the shaping. But you can definitely try it, you just may end up having to undo some and restart where you changed it. It’s a lot of trial and error,
Omg thank you sooo much!!!
So for larger cow, it’s just larger yarn? The process is same?
Yes 😊 follow the video, using larger yarn and hook. As a general rule . At least 2 hook sizes lower than what is recommended on the yarn label.
❤❤❤😂😊❤❤❤❤
How did you stitch the accent color to the tail of the cow. I think you missed recording that
Hi Sarika, you scared me for a second there, cause I could of quite easily done that, lol. I had a look, it’s closer to the end, at about 2hrs 18 mins. You’ve probably seen it by now 😊
Hi Rhonda could you make the characters from the walking dead
Hi Linda. That’s a great idea!! I’m not sure if I’m that talented, But I’ll put it on my list
I absolutely love your cow patterns… But I’m looking for the pattern to your black and white cow… Do you have that?
Hi Vicki, this is the video you use for the black and white cow. You will just do black where I’m doing the tan, and white where I’m doing the reddish brown. And then further on there will be instructions for the spots. (Or I hope I didn’t leave that out 😮 nobody has mentioned it anyways so I’m assuming I haven’t, lol)
And if you are referring to the larger one, you follow this pattern, you will just be using the larger #6 yarn instead.
Hope that helps 😊
@@rhondadawnbutler
Ohh thank you so much..!! God Bless… the cows are adorable
@@rhondadawnbutler
It does help, I was skipping through until I saw the instructions at the top part and I was just sewing, so I really wasn’t listening… So that’s my fault so I will go back and do it the right way… Lol
Do you have a written pattern?
Hi Jenny, I only have the pattern written at the top during the video 😊
Sorry my last comment was supposed to be for your voodoo doll video. I'm sorry
👍
What abt the cow☹️
Do you mean the black and white cow? It’s in there. You follow along in the Color’s of your choice, then at the end I have how to do the spots . 😊
