---- About the Pattern ----
The Pocket Duck pattern is beginner friendly and quick to work up. It’s also a no-sew pattern, meaning it’s worked completely in one piece.
This bird can be kept as a squishy plush with a super bulky blanket or chenille velvet yarn. It can also be turned into a small “keychain” size with thinner weight yarns and a smaller hook. Crochet a family of duckies of varying sizes by using different weights of yarn. Play with different yarn colors to make a mallard duck, or use one solid yellow to create a rubber ducky.
This miniature duck is great as a birthday gift, Christmas or holiday gift, as party favors, or market and craft fair products. They make adorable baby shower gifts, decor for nursery rooms, or even crib mobile attachments. Kids and adults alike will adore this cute stuffed animal amigurumi toy!

I added some little feet to my darling duck, to make him sit better. This is what I did: Row 1: with orange yarn, ch 3. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in the end ch, ch1, turn. Row 2: Inc in first sc, SC in next, ch 1, turn. Row 3: in first sc, sl, ch2, sl in same stitch (this makes a "toe"). Repeat the sl, ch 2., sl in each of the next two sc. End off. Sew the feet onto rnd 15 of the duck's body and sew in ends. I would show a picture of the feet on my duck, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing how you added feet!!
sl - what is the full form pls?
@@suparnabiswas5013 I think it is slip-stitch
Thanks Phyllis for this added info. I also put some feet on my duckie using your instructions. Took it a step further by attaching it to the bottom using the method she described in the video to attach the wings and beak. So no need for sewing, that worked for my since I don’t have a large enough need for yarn. Thanks again for your tip.
@@suparnabiswas5013 slip stitch I believe
this is gonna be my first ever crochet project, first time even touching a crochet hook. i’m exited, and probably won’t be able to do it but i have hope!!
Wow that's awesome! You can do it!!
hey!! how did it go?
@@strawhat77we never got an answer..
My duck turned out almost the same size with my loops and threads soft classic acrylic. I love that you crochet the wings right onto it and don’t have to sew it on!
I know this video is 4 months old, but I do want to thank you so so so so much for including a transcript with your video. I guess I don't honestly know if that's you, or youtube, but I'm no good at following videos, so I need a transcript, and since you made the video there's a transcript to follow. UA-cam makes billions of dollars, so thanks would be wasted on them, so I'll save it for you, the one who truly deserves it. Thank you for being alive and for doing what you do. The world is a better place because you exist.
Aww I'm so happy to hear it! I think it might be a setting to toggle and I'm so glad it's helpful. Thank you for the amazing feedback! Really appreciate it!
my fiancé LOVES ducks and we’ve got our first baby on the way, so I wanted to start making these for a little duckie collection for the baby! it turned out much bigger than I expected with bernat baby yarn and a 5.0mm hook but it’s super cute🥰
Omg congrats on your baby coming!!! This is so sweet to hear
Congrats! May you have a safe birth
I'm making a giant version for my best friend who is so obsessed with ducks that he is the easiest person I know to get gifts for. Literally anything duck related. He goes crazy for ducks
Congrats,I hope you all have a great life 🥺
Yes with the bernet baby yarn it ended up so mich bigger than expected but it is still very cute!
Very good tutorial :) I made two small mallard ducks and turned them into a pair of earrings.
Yay, that's so awesome! Cutest earrings ever!
No because that’s adorable
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!! I know I am like almost a year late, but this amigurumi tutorial is the most clear, easy, and beginner-friendly that I've watched so far in my crochet journey! I am a complete beginner but I understood this more than math. Again, thank you so much!
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that's amazing feedback...thank you!!!
My duck turned out perfect!! I used rainbow yarn and red for the beak so it's not traditional, but I think it's perfect!
I am definitely a perfectionist and get very frustrated when something doesnt turn out right or if its confusing, this was BY FAR the best tutorial i have ever seen, it was perfect to follow and was so easy!
Wow, these are high compliments!! Thank you so much!!
this is so cute! thank you for writing the pattern down as well on screen, that was a huge help for me!
So glad it's helpful!! Thanks for the awesome feedback!
This was the first amigurumi tutorial I saw and now I can't stop making ducks
PS: English is not my first language, I apologize if there are any mistakes
Your English is perfect!
Your English is perfect and I'm so glad you like my duck tutorial!!
I made one for a girl at my school and everyone else saw it and now everyone is paying me to make them one and I’m soooooo stressed out about how many ducks I have to make when I’m only 12 and in middle school
Awww, you've got a business going! Don't stress yourself out over it though!
heyy how many ones did you sell now😭
Same I sell them for £3.25 each but I make top hats too, how much do u do it for?
I make them too but it’s the end of the school year so I don’t think it would be fair to charge my classmates, so I make them for fun
I love artists who reply to their subscribers....and i am very happy u are replying all lf us😊
Thank you!!
Tysm for this! I made it for my crush (guy bff) and he loved it! I saw him holding it during class and was so happy! He looked so happy as well!
Aww that's so awesome to hear!! He must love it!!!
My kid saw this and had to have you. You’ve made their whole day ❤. Thank you for this. I could listen to your voice all day long!!
It is officially my goal to make an army of these cute little ducklings 😅😂
Yay! We could all use an army of these ducks hehehe
me too🤩😂
I have started my army
@@muffin0101 Awesome!!
@@danikas330 YAY!!
Thanks so much for this pattern! Way easier than I thought it would be. I’m now able to gift my English teacher this little duck as a reference to “The Catcher in The Rye”!
That’s so awesome!!!
Lovely tutorial! I'm excited to make my own.
I loved this pattern! My duck turned out better than I thought and it was so nice how you showed the different types of stitches you did!
Also, for those of you who don’t like starting with chains, or find it confusing, magic rings work just fine for the beginning!
So happy you enjoyed my tutorial and love your finished duck! Yay!!
Thank you I was wondering that
Extremely cute, simple and quick pattern, thank you very much!
So happy you like it, thanks!!
Such an easy pattern to follow! And cute ducky! 🦆
Yay, glad you like it! thanks so much!
THIS TURNED OUT ADORABLE!! I also crocheted a little Christmas hat with red yarn and some white chunky one! It looks super cute and gives me the Christmas spirit everytime i walk into my room 🐥
So happy you like it! So cute that you made it festive!!
omg i did the same thing turned it into an ornament it was so cute
Okay so I thought I was crocheting wrong so I would turn my projects inside out and they would look better. This awesome creator just told me that I was right! I'm so happy rn!

Yay! Glad it helped!!
I crocheted everything inside out for 6 months LMAO. I kicked myself when I figured it out.
What a great little pattern! Thank you! This was quick and fun!
Yay!! Happy you like it!
Love that the beak and wings are crocheted onto the body.
I love designing no-sew amigurumi! Decreasing the amount of sewing is always my goal in every pattern, haha :)
My duck turned out HUGE but i love it and cuddle with it allllllll the time!
The bigger the better!!
This was the best explanation! I love your vids too! Hope you can be successful! God Bless you! @@SweetSofties
The duck came out super cute!😍 the instructions were really easy to follow and the pattern itself is really adorable😄 thank you❤️
Aww I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for such positive feedback!
This was such a fun and easy project! Thank u for sharing!!
Glad you like it!!
as soon as i get some yarn and hooks then im gonna try to make a tiny duck because these are adorable 😭
You're gonna love learning to crochet!
I love this cute pattern! I did notice the written directions for the wings don’t match what you do, the written indicates 3DC in 3 st (making 9 total)
For the wings the written directions should be CH2, DC in same stitch, DC next 3 st, CH1, turn, skip st, SC next 2, sl st in last
That was a clear tutorial and I can’t wait to try crochet one. Thank you so much! 🙏👍❤️
Thank you!!
A very pretty crochet duck. Lovely😊
So glad you like it! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I’m a teacher leaving my school at the end of the year and I had the impulse to make a collection of little animals to gift to my students at the end of the year. This is only the second one I tried and it was so so wonderful how you explained everything. I feel much more confident that I’ll be able to make 60 of these by the end of June. ❤
Wow, what a sweet and heartwarming gift to your students!!
So easy to follow!! New fan 😊 and new to the crochet world! Definitely going to try this out
So glad to hear it! Yay!!

Yeah for real! I totally agree :D
Glad you like it!!
Just finished making this cute lil duck! I have added feet too along rnd 15 using 4 stitches.
SC, hdc, DC, sl st.
Thanks for the pattern ❤😊
Awesome, love that you added feet and happy you enjoyed the pattern!
I used this method, and I am quite happy with how they turned out. My only issue was trying to decide how close I should have the two feet together. But now they look quite good, and my duckie can stand up right, now
Thank you for sharing. Your duck is adorable and I’m sure I’ll be making a bunch of these little yellow rubber ducks as soon as I get the right yarn.😊
So awesome to hear that! I'm glad you like my deisgn adn hope you get to make it soon!

This turned out just perfect! Thankyou so much for all the detailed instructions!❤
Yay so happy to hear that!!
I usually don't comment much but this video was so clear and helpful. I loved this video! Next time, can you break the video apart into little sections, like some of the other videos have? Thank you sooo much (I really liked that you put each round on the screen, it helped a lot.)
Thanks, that's great feedback!! For my more recent videos I've started adding "contents" to the description so you can skip to the part you want! :)
haha im so glad you mentioned being an imperfect crocheter! my duck's tail was a little short and his face was wonky but honestly i had a lot of fun following along this video. thank you for the pattern!
Hahaha definitely! I'd love everyone to know that I make tons of mistakes and "oops" all the time lol...but I'm still able to make something in the end! Crochet is about the process and having fun :) And if you end up with something cute, it's a big plus! I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial and I'm sure your ducky looks so cute the way he is!!
My ducks turned out so adorable!! I made two, and gave them both a crocheted wide-brimmed sunhat and a little apron and they look so cute!
So awesome, a sunhat and apron too? That must be soooo cute!
They are so adorable.
Thank you!!

Yay, duck army!!!!
Thanks for this super clear and easy to follow duckie pattern! A jeep owning friend wants me to make some for her to put on other people's jeeps that she likes!
Glad you like it! Haha I heard about the duck and jeep thing after making this pattern; didn't know about this connection before!
Thank you so much for this video and pattern (I purchased it). I’m making these little ducks for my next cruise to hide around the ship as part of the “Cruising Ducks”. I’ve made 3 so far with some hiccups. Mine don’t look just like yours but they’re still cute. I’m determined to get them to look more like your example. I’m enjoying the process. I’ve been crocheting for many years but just simple stitches for blankets and scarves. Anything else has scared me but your video has inspired me to give it a try. I love it and am officially addicted.
Wow, that's amazing to hear!! Thank you for purchasing the pattern adn supporting me as a designer. I'm so glad you are giving amigurumi a try with my videos! Your idea for these little ducks is so cute and I'm sure those who find it will be very pleasantly surprised to have such a wonderful gift!
I am also making cruising ducks, a variety of colors!
Thank you for this lovely duck 😊 I just made it. Chunky velvet yarn with hook No. 6! I'll try with normal yarn as well 💛
