@@bacanetheiws7127 Kami has 2 aspects, "Aramitama" and "Nigimitama", which are explained as raging aspect and peaceful aspect. Old kind of Kami in rural areas are more harsh and requires much offerings, in old time, for example it was human sacrifice. (It was believed like that in very old time, not now of course)
It's pretty crazy that Ainu (Japanese native) isn't recognized as official minority group until last year and they are basically near extinction right now.
The Japanese also share the same DNA as the Ainu people. but not at all together. The Japanese were born by mixing the Jomon people and the peoples of the Asian continent. The Ainu people evolved with almost only Jomon DNA.
And because their religion is similar to Japanese Shintoism, they were treated as a small tribe deep in the mountains rather than as a completely different race, which is one of the reasons why they were not recognized as an official minority in the past.
However, Ainu culture is firmly respected now. This Golden Kamuy also played a big role in making Ainu culture known to many people. In fact, it is a work that is highly evaluated by the Ainu people.
